He has been exceptionally good and keeps a close eye on us. He tells us what to look out for and tells what not to do. He also gets along with everyone and let us know where to look around of places of interest. He has been very helpful to us and continues to do things for everyone.
If you want me to give out compliments every day, there will be too long for the app because he did so many helpful deeds for us.
For example, we are worry about the little time we have for transfers in Frankfurt and he works hard to call the airline to find a way which can help us. We are very grateful.
We have been traveling a lot and meet many tour directors. Frederic is the most outstanding one.

Mediterranean White (SMY) in Santorini
Terrible, horrible place!!! Smell of sewage in at least 6 rooms. Attitude of female at front desk was one of indifference and exasperation that there were no rooms left and that NOTHING could be done. It was HORRIBLE! No apologies. 2nd night- mad fight in a room: hitting, objects being thrown, loud yelling… front desk stated people were drunk. No cops were called and my brother, a guest in the room next door, felt very upset along with his wife and felt unsafe. No one came to investigate. Pool chairs extremely stained. How is EF Tours still using this hotel. Would never choose them again if this hotel was chosen in the future. Our tour director, Styliani “Stella” was amazing and even gave up her own room when I first reported the sewage pungent smell!!! Unfortunately, her room was better, but the smell cost me an entire night’s sleep! EF Tours should not contract with this company any longer if it wants to continue to be in business!!! 5-6 others of our group of 14 on 9/24 had the same horrible experience. Customer Service Representative Karmen
Problem: we had requested a prestar prior to the start of our tour in Porto.
What happened was that our EF application told us we were booked at another hotel - that did not work for us; the problem came when I called the hotel and there was no record of a reservation in our name at all.
Karmen in customer service helped us greatly to not only discover that our reservation though stated was never made. She was able to negotiate with operations to work with the Mercur hotel and arrange a room at the hotel we started our tour from. We are grateful for her assistance, as my husband’s suitcase had been lost with his essential medical device in it. We were able to recover the suitcase and get some much needed rest prior to the start of our tour! Bravo Karmen and grateful Thanks!

Greece, Mykonos and Santorini
Loved seeing the Acropolis from far ( hotel terrace) and near as we climbed up and saw all the buildings up close. Our leader, Eliana, was very upbeat and very informative. The bus tour of the city was nice as I loved the architecture of the important government buildings and the ruins of years gone by. The shopping was excellent and I did not feel pressured to purchase. Mykonos at night was lively and had really good gelato. The little harbor lit up at night is picture postcard beautiful. On my own took a ferry to Hydra on a free day and enjoyed this island as there are no vehicles allowed. Hydra has a very nice maritime museum. We got to Santorini early before all the cruise ship peeps appeared. That was a real plus. It looks just like what you have seen in photos. The cruise ship could use a lot of updating. It was clean but old.

Solo tour to Sicily
On the solo tour to Sicily, our tour guide, whose name is Salvo was totally amazing. He educated us on everything we were seeing and even things we were not seeing , but the best part about touring with Salvo was that the love he had for Sicily just poured out of him. I would highly recommend EF GO AHEAD TOURS and this being a solo tour the people and friends that I made I truly I that we will stay connected for a lifetime. if you are unsure of taking a solo tour and on the fence about it, trust me, you will absolutely be grateful that you did.

Great trip
GREAT trip so far!!! Tom is a fantastic tour guide!! Great weather, hotels, food, and just everything! Train had issues but Tom handled it well and helped us all to get where we needed to be. The local guides have been really good but the lady at Dublin was pretty dry. Saturday…another great day with great views. The meal at the hotel was good last night. The hotel has so much character! Tom is knowledgeable on every subject. All of our bus drivers have been fantastic…..glad they were driving and not me! I am so glad I took this tour! It was fabulous! I did miss air conditioning in the fanciest hotel but a fan made it bearable. Tom was the best tour guide ever!! Dan the bus driver was amazing at handling the Small roads! Thank you! The jaunty cars were an added plus!
The flight was good but the 6-7 hour lay over in Atlanta is a bit much especially when tired already. By the time we drive the additional way home after flights we will have been up about 24 hours. Not sure if there is anything that could have even done but the 5:00 flight would sure have been better than the 8:30. Thanks

Dear Francis Tour guide Tom was the best ! Knowledgeable, imparting info in a smooth , appropriate, fun way . Gave good suggestions on where to eat , drink, and get around. We did have to fill him in about Wyatt Earp. Except for a couple of outlaws all 37 of us are from lamar , MO. Pop 5000. Our fabulous bus drivers, Ian and Dan kept us on the road in spite of some tricky situations. Local guide In London,Stuart, was great! So was guide in Windsor. Local guide , Kay, in Edinburgh not so great. She seemed in a hurry to get us out of there. Hotels: NHow In London was ok. Funky. Indigo in Edinburg was nice and cozy. Helpful staff. Novotel in Liverpool. I do not remember much about it other than it was hard for the cab driver to locate. Hampton by Hilton Dublin City center was not great. Tom as always expedited check in . Rooms were difficult to find .badly marked. and small. No room for luggage . My sister and I were in a two bed room . Sister got locked in the bathroom. Took 2 visits downstairs to get someone to free her. Then no hot water to shower . Really like where we are tonight- Meadowlands in Tralee . To be continued…

Day 1 Greek Tour
Met Pascale today. Tired from the flight but she was super patient with everyone as she communicated all the important information we needed. (And the fun information we also needed.). Check in was easy. Absolutely loved the attention we had from the airport to receiving our rooms. Very much appreciated the chance to catch a nap before dinner with the group. Very much appreciated the opportunity for last minute excursion decisions and bookings. Looking forward to a wonderful time with everybody in Greece!

Scotland/ Ireland tour w/ London extension
I’m glad I had shoulder surgery and missed the London extension. Everyone said it ducked. The hotel was a good half hour from most touristy areas and located in a scary part of London. One person reported people smoking crank pipes outside the hotel. Once we got to Edinburgh, which is a beautiful city, we were hoteled at a holiday In Express (one of a dozen in Edinburgh so I went to the wrong first-!***). Who goes to Europe to stay in a Holliday Inn Express? Worse is they routinely turned off the AC so nobody got a decent nights sleep. By this time I was so tired from traveling the beauty of Edinburgh was much diminished. Glencoe was MUCH better! Nice little inn on the loche! Two nights there got rested and enjoyed the area. Now off to Glasgow. We will see. The hotel we will be at does not have good reviews- many say 2 stars or would not recommend. We will see. But on the way we are told there will be a stop at a whiskey distillery at 10:30 am (not great time of day to whiskey), but they won’t give the name of the distillery. So we’ll see. Maybe things will perk up or stay as nice as Glencoe. Kind of doubt it. We’ll see.
