  • Make it as good as the desktop apps

There’s tons of unrealized potential and this should easily be a five star app. If it was maintained like the desktop apps, it would be. When it was working, it was better than VNC, was better than MS RDP, doesn’t require the “cloud accounts” garbage that others now require and there’s no ads. I will always appreciate that I was able to effortlessly have my kid remote into a headless machine in my basement, to run school web apps (that would only work in Chrome browser) from an iPad, during the COVID lockdown. This app literally saved me from insanity, during a time when when my whole family suddenly had to work from home and affordable computers evaporated. It should be five stars, but as it is, it can’t be. It’s nice to read that so much work is being put into a new app release, but years between releases is a bit much and it’s been getting twitchier with every iOS update. Right now, it’s not usable. Fixing the display scaling issues to just make the app usable again and no other change, would add a star. Using the whole screen, would add another. Using hardware acceleration available on recent devices, would add a star. If codec licensing or advanced features requires a reasonable IAP, I can live with that. Letting the app rot is not good marketing for your ecosystem. More frequent app releases, even if they’re tiny incremental changes, make the NX ecosystem seem less risky and easier to convince employers to license. I still really appreciate what this app has done for me and hope iOS releases continue. Soon.

Hi, thanks so much for your critique which also gives us a interesting glimpse of how NX has been useful to you. We completely understand what you are saying. We know that we are late with a major update and rest assured it's coming. Once v8 for mobile is out, a more steady flow of updates will also come. First is to bring our users an app that runs on the more recent iOS versions and fix display issues that others have reported, as well as align it to NoMachine for Desktop 8. You mentioned hardware acceleration and this is planned. Work on iOS for that should start soon. Our developers are working flat out to bring you a top quality app that you expect: no cloud accounts, no ads and smooth sessions :-) Stay safe!
  • does not start on new ipad pro !

got it to work a while ago on previous ipad and stopped connecting to server after an update

plus this version just does not start on the new iPad pro !!!!

need serious work or to be deleted from the list of available app
  • App does not respond when opened

I use the desktop version of this app with no problem for school and work so I decided to give the mobile version a try and so far the app just opens and displays a broken version of the interface and then does nothing.
  • Work

Not working at all for IOS 16
  • nothing work in ipad os 16

Start the app but the screen freezes immediately on my m2 ipad pro.
  • Sadly this is abandonware now

This app hasn’t been update in years. It doesn’t support most of the newer iPad screen sizes either so you’ll have a black border around your remote desktop no matter what you do. It’s a shame because I’ve heard the protocol is good but this is unusable for any serious purpose when it’s been allowed to go so far out of date.

We are late, we know. An update is coming. The reason it's late is that the upcoming version 8 for desktop took more time than initially expected (and it includes some very cool features!!) The good news is that we plan to release the new version for mobile after we release version 8 for desktop, so keep your eyes peeled.
  • It might be fast

Might be fast, but it looks weird on iPad mini 6 and doesn’t support Portrait orientation, which is a dealbreaker for me. I’d ready like something as convenient as Jump, but with UDP support and forward error correction (together with probably low latency HEVC)

Thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on a major update which will fix the issues that iOS 16 users are experiencing. So keep your eyes peeled :-)
  • Completely broken for ios16

iOS and ipados16 is broken because the app is half off screen when its rotated however you can’t put the app in portrait mode in ipad so its completely unusable
  • No support for magic keyboards or iPadOS 16

App hasn’t been updated in years and it looks atrocious on my iPad. Please, no more empty promises. Update your app!
