Solid
There are other similar apps that are theoretically cool but full of bugs. Midiflow works without those bugs and has tons of control. So I go with the one that does it all and is solid. Midiflow to the rescue. Since there are so many features, it takes a bit of time to catch on. It took me an hour or so to get the main stuff and the rest came as I needed them.
Great app. The developer also created a bunch of must have apps to greatly enhance the new midi features in audiobus 3.
If you are into using midi in your music then this app belongs in your toolbox.
I must say that it bugs me a lot when reviewers give a bad review when they do not get the results they expected or if an app does not do what they think it should do. I suggest contacting the developer before writing a bad review in case it’s your lack of knowledge of midi that is causing your heartaches and not the app. I am able to do most things that is not possible without an app like this and kudos for how it has never shown me any bugs. I think it is the best app of its type available for IOS. How anyone can give a bad review is beyond me. Studying the details of how midi works in depth is important before trying to do advanced stuff. If you do not really understand midi in IOS and in general, trial and error will get you in trouble more and more as your setup gets more involved. And how can you blame the app for issues with ios? It bugs me because this is clearly the best app of its kind for IOS. Work with the developer instead of letting out your frustration in a review. Isnt the goal to end up with the best app possible or is it to show how smart you are by trying to blame an app for your lack of ability and you ingenuity. A bad review will not help you so why write one. Ok, if you try to contact the developer and he/she does nothing to help then go ahead, but first make sure its the app at fault.Show lessPerry Pelican

Fantastic Midi Router
This app is superb for routing midi between apps and external keyboards or other input devices.
Want to invert your keyboard to map high notes to the left and low to the right? Enable only the black keys? Use notes one a keyboard to send program changes? Remap midi channels, create velocity switch layers, key zones?
In short you can do just about anything you can imagine with midi data that your keyboards or apps cannot do on their own, thereby giving added flexibility and function to devices with limited features.
For example, a keyboard with only one zone that sends on one midi channel can be configured to be split into any number of zones each going to its own unique midi channel and routed to any app.
Midiflow is the midi control center on my iPad. I know of no other app that does what this app can.Show lessviddavisda
Great functionality, some bugs that need fixing....
Great tool, very versatile, and the developer is really responsive. I use it at the heart of a live rig to route two (identical) keyboards and a fishman guitar MIDI interface to an organ emulator, a blofeld, and the iPad.

Some deficiencies limit its usefulness
This app looks really good, with thorough documentation (yay!), but it's got some bugs and quirks that limit its usefulness, at least for my purposes.
It is not as transparent as I would like...even when you ask it to bypass any modifications to the incoming data stream, it still messes with it...blocking some Midi codes (aftertouch) and morphing some others (note off events).
One feature I really wanted was to be able to remap virtually any Midi message based on its hex code. Although it claims to be able to do this (needs IAP) it doesn't work properly at all. Instead of remapping (replacing) a code, it merely adds the new code to the data stream without replacing the original code (which is what remapping is supposed to mean).
I hope these deficiencies can eventually be remedied, but for now, I am not able to use this app for the purposes I intended.Show lessShake town

Can you describe more precisely, what kind of command you want to remap? Whenever possible, you should select from the listed controller types (like CC4) instead of specifying it yourself using the "message" type. There are some technical limitations when remapping a custom "message", i.e. it cannot be filtered out. This is also mentioned in the documentation. That is the reason why the original messages still gets through. You can try to get rid of that message, for example by filtering out all SysEx commands or by creating another Controller Remapping for filtering out a command. However, I cannot give more advice here without knowing what you're trying to do exactly.This is the best app ever !

Feeling like I made the right choice here
There were a number of midi utility apps to choose from when I was looking last year and feel very happy I chose midiflow. I chose it then because it had all the features I could want (admitedly some via in app purchase) plus it seemed to be the most active (more recent releases and updates) than anything comparable. Now the same developer has just released a suite of midi utilities that are built around a specific purpose. While I like the new tools alot and think Audiobus 3 is great I am still very glad to have this app on my device not least of which is because it works on older (pre iOS 10) devices.Show lessDpqld
