  • App Problems

For some reason my She Reads Truth app won’t open any reading plans. Every time I try to open a plan, a message appears stating “network error” and “there was an error proceeding, please check your connection and try again”. I have a full connection and have paid all the monthly subscriptions but can never get it to work.

  • A Bible app I can get into

I love this app in particular because the scriptures offered each day are more than one or two verses and relevant in their grouping, then you can choose to read the application or devotional part, or not. It still marks what you’ve read and makes it easy to catch up if you miss a day or several. None of the studies are so long that you lose interest, and I love that it really does give you something to ponder in life application throughout your day, if you just allow God to speak to you through it. Great job SRT!

  • Getting better. Still buggy.

UPDATE: So glad the ‘mark as read’ feature is working after the last update. The issue I’m now having is with the ‘daily study reminder.’ I have it set for 8am because that’s when I sit down for my quiet time. The problem is that I get the reminder multiple times a day. 8am. 9am. 10am. 3pm. Etc...& they aren’t the 1st reminder popping back up. I’ll clear the 1st reminder & new ones pop up at odd hours. The badge reminder icon also shows a ‘1’ each time this happens. I’ve tried disabling and setting a new time, but it didn’t help. I finally just had to turn off notifications for SRT.

Also, I am unable to leave comments. Or more correctly, they don’t actually post. I can type a comment or reply, but when I hit submit they just disappear. I thought there was a slight delay at first, but my comments just end up getting lost & never actually post.

Thanks for the feedback and for supporting She Reads Truth! We just fixed this problem in our latest update, make sure to download the latest version of the app. To access sepia and night mode, click the arrow next to the book of the Bible! If you have any other issues please let us know!
  • Lacking versatility

I love the minimalism and aesthetic of this app and it works well on iPhone as a regular Bible reading app. However, as an iPad user, it doesn’t allow for landscape viewing/split screen viewing, which makes typing notes more inefficient and tedious.

Would recommend as an iPhone app but not so much as an iPad app. Hope to see some improvements on the app this year!

  • High quality and high value!

Used it over the summer to read through the entire Bible with the 365 plan. Absolutely loved how it was set up, the green check marks were a great incentive, and the tracked percentage was also fun. It was also brilliantly divided with a lot of thought put into the passages that were read together; and enough variety to keep it from feeling tedious. Almost felt like reading a novel with something new to discover every day! I always look forward to the Advent plans as well. Thankful for such a solid high quality app to recommend for friends wanting to get into the Bible more. And did I mention how affordable it is and how pretty the photos are?! Thank you ladies!!

  • Pretty and a good concept, but ugh the bugs!

I want to love this app, and I don’t even mind paying a bit for the plans, etc. But this app is pretty buggy, and recently it’s stopped tracking progress - so I can never remember where I am in a reading plan! Also I can’t figure out how to mark an entire reading plan as complete, which is kind of annoying. Considering the time clearly put into style, put some more work into the background please!

  • Unable to read without WiFi connect!

This makes the app honestly pointless. I spend the money, purchase the plans yet cannot read off line. I live in the city and my daily commute is the train and that’s my quiet time but ever since this new update I cannot read my plans anymore without WiFi connection, even if I want to use my data the plans will not work without an actual WiFi connection!!! Purchasing these plans should be like E-books and it’s frustrating. I can’t get my daily morning commute read to work or on the go and it makes me so sad. I no longer want to purchase additional plans because I cannot use whenever I want. The odd app allowed all of this, please bring the option back. In all honesty, the old app was much better, simple, to the point and easy to maneuver. There’s just way to much unnecessary steps to get to certain books of the Bible and etc.

  • Updates

Used to be my go-to but unfortunately the updates are very infrequent and so glitches stay around for a while. Every time I tick of a reading day, it wipes out and I lose track as to which I’ve done because the next day all are unticked again.. takes me ages to find where I left off :( but content is good and thought-provoking

  • Fire your app developer!

I absolutely love She Reads Truth, I have been reading their devotionals since shortly after they started. This review is not a reflection on them as a company but on their app developer. There has been a bug that erases your progress and does not keep track of anything for several months now; and the last update (which was 1 month ago) did not address that bug. Myself and others have complained about this bug multiple times and yet no updates have addressed it. It seems like it should be a relatively easy thing to fix, and it seems like they should be addressing it much faster than what they are. It’s especially frustrating as a paid subscriber to your app. Maybe it’s time to find a new app developer.

  • I do not like the new app

Edit: some bugs seem to be worked out. The content and presentation of SRT continue to be INCREDIBLE. Still don’t prefer the new app, but it’s better than when it was first rolled out.
I love She Reads Truth and have had the app and plans for 3 years now. I am very disappointed with the app overhaul and update. It is very difficult to use the app. It’s constantly buggy. It never has my previous day’s reading correct. I really liked in the old app that there was a place to jump straight to the current day’s reading. If there’s a way to do that from the home page of the app, it’s not obvious to me. I also hate that my plans are listed in alphabetical order instead of most recently opened. That’s not helpful. At least give me an easy way to toggle between views so I can use the one most helpful to me. I also cannot stand that now, after I click “read” after reading the scripture passage, it doesn’t stay marked “read.” If I go back to the verses after looking at the devo, it will unmark the reading as read for me. That’s so frustrating. Why was so much functionality removed and changed from the old app? What is the reason for it?
Again. I love the content of SRT. I love the studies. I love the aesthetic (though not so much of this new app—it’s too harsh for me—but if that’s what you want then it’s fine). It’s very confusing to me why the app was changed so much, taking away good functionality and maneuvering.
