I love this app but please hear me out.
I love webtoon, I have had it for years and have spent days pouring my heart and soul into the reading of the comics on this app. Recently many quality of life upgrades and additions have been made which I highly appreciate and love (for example getting to read a preview without it getting in my recent reads).
Something I would love so much for Webtoon to have though is a ‘My List’ or ‘to be read’ feature that would essentially be the same as the ‘My list’ feature on streaming services etc. This would be a huge help to me so I can shelve series that I find interesting at a glance or at a read of the blurb but don’t have the time to read. But I’d also rather not have the risk of losing the name of the series or having them fill up my recent reads (mainly because I find the congestion inconvenient).
Obviously I understand this would be a big implementation and wouldn’t be like a small bug fix so no pressure Webtoon team lol :)

Daily pass…
Ok I love WEBTOON, I’ve had it for 7 years give or take. You can have the app and enjoy hundreds of comics basically free, and if a author drops a big enough cliffhanger, you fast pass. I think this is great, I don’t mind waiting a week and authors need the money for all these great stories, I really don’t mind. BUT… then they added daily pass… and that is the only thing keeping me from doing five stars because I think it’s kinda stupid. Sure, I get that authors and WEBTOON need the cash, but I’m pretty certain it would have done fine without it, considering all the comics on the platform. But now there’s all these awesome completed comics that I bet basically no one is reading now cause they aren’t gonna spend however much for these daily passes… or wait and spend YEARS waiting for all the episodes to unlock. No one does that. If people are looking for completed comics, they want something to binge, not another waiting game. I would love to re read hardcore leveling warrior now that there’s a new one, but I won’t… I’m gonna go find it on a free pirated site because I’m a poor college student and I don’t have the patience to wait a year to finish something. My personal recommendation is to have an ad after every few episodes if WEBTOON REALLY needs to farm more money off every competed story, that would make reading the comics actually possible.

Updates actually improve the app!!
Unlike with some other apps, tiktok, Instagram, etc etc I find that the updates for this app actually bring about good changes. I’m not sure if the algorithm has been changed recently, but since the last update a much wider range of webcomics have been recommended to me that I’d never been able to find before, even when searching for their genre. It was essentially like they didn’t exist beforehand, and I was only seeing things I already read or irrelevant being recommended to me, that’s changed now. Hopefully it stays this way!

DEFINITELY RECOMMEND FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE MANHWA
Webtoon is absolutely so amazing. They have so many options and genres to choose from like romance, comedy, horror, thriller and so much more. The art for most of these stories are so stunning and makes all the stories feel alive. I have fallen in love with some of the stories because of their amazing art styles. The storyline of many webtoons is absolutely incredible. They bring my jaw all the way to the floor and have me thinking about the plots the entire night. (some of my favorites are Marry my Husband, Like Wind On A Dry Branch, Operation True Love and Not Your typical Reincarnation Story they have made me go crazy over webtoons).
Webtoons are literally so comforting to read for whatever occasion and they just make my heart melt. I could read for 5 hours straight and not get bored(from experience) and it is literally my life my love my soul.
I know a lot of people are annoyed with you having to wait for each episode to come out or else you have to pay but my tip is too find some that have most of the episodes our already and you can read that in the meantime while waiting for the other episodes from the other webtoons to load. Operation True Love, Marry My Husband and Like Wind On A Dry Branch already have most if their episodes out which is really comforting while I also enjoy other ones as they come out.

I like the old scroll to go next EP
The app is really good. I have been using WEBTOON since 2015. But if possible, I want the old scrolling for next episode. This new update feels like it very rapid when you scroll down to go for next episode
I’m still gonna use it, but bad changes
You now HAVE to pay for the last three episodes of any Webtoon series you want to read, I cannot afford to spend money on Webtoon because it isn’t a priority. in the past luckily you could just wait and get the free episodes and even after the daily pass you’d get them daily. But now there are series I will never be able to fully finish because the free coin events are so rare and you only get 5-ish coins (not enough to buy most chapters which are 7).
I loved Webtoon but they’ve changed it in ways that disadvantages the readers. I tend to use Tapas more because at least there I can watch adds to get coins without spending my money.

Absolutely love it
I love the app. You can choose any kind of genre you want and you can find some that are enjoyable to you. The art and the storyline’s are very enjoyable and all writers and artist should strive to go even further and maybe even make their story a movie or tv show. The only issue I find is the daily pass, most stories that I red don’t include daily pass because I like the story or art better but because I forget to go to the daily pass ones and then I get into it and then have to wait another day. However, apart from that, I would truly recommend this app to anyone who likes books, art, good storylines, I would also recommend reading Post Harbour (I love you Atlas, you deserve better).

Webtoon grew too draining to use
I wrote a more fleshed out review but the AppStore wiped it before I could publish. The point was essentially that daily pass ruined the reading experience. It’s tiring having to keep an eye on every individual comic I want to read because it could finish without my knowing as I don’t spend my life on this app. There are many comics which I wish that I could spend a day or hour re-reading or finish even, but I’m forced to check in daily to hack away at episodes and I can’t even unlock the entire comic as episodes only remain unlocked for a fourteen day period. I don’t use the app daily and doubt anyone does, so I’m forced to read scans online which is far easier than using webtoon. I want to relax and read a comic but I’m only feeling exhausted by even the idea, not wanting to read until finally the comic would be fed to daily pass and I would never find the energy to read again. Reading for free on webtoon used to be great, but with the little pockets of time I spend using the app it’s infuriating to use. I’d rate less but the opportunity they provide for the artists is worth stars in it’s own right.

Worth the money
This app is totally worth the money, excellent content which takes hours to read, totally worth the money to purchase.
How much is it? Nothing, so much is totally free.
Only thing you’ll need to bear in mind is that if you want to buy pages then ya gonna need to keep buying pages otherwise it’s weeks even months to read for free but even then, it’s REALLY cheap, im spending roughly 5 dollars a week tops to read, which I only did cos I wanted to support creators, all paid stuff does become free, so again, totally worth your time, and possibly, your money

Amazing app
Webtoon is a really good app for when your bored. I first got into Webtoon last year when I saw a short video about some characters from a webtoon canvas. A day after reading it my friend suggested me more comics to read and even though I don’t have any coins I can still find fun comics to read that update on a daily without using a daily pass. I get really happy when the webtoons get turned into shows or dramas like true beauty, see you in my 19th life and more. I always look forward to find new series to read in my free time when I’m bored and just wanna get away with life. Webtoon is really easy to read and look for comics. The creators are so talented with their team or when they work on it by themselves it’s so amazing to see the cool art they produce for their stories. I totally recommend if you like mangas and anime and ITS FREEE
