  • Poor quality app

This app is terrible. I purchased it based on the other reviews but can honestly say I’m at a complete loss as to why so many find it great? It only allows you to upload an image to generate a pattern, not create from scratch as some of the reviews suggest. Only very simple pic art pictures would translate into a decent pattern so if you’re after an app that generates even half decent patterns, this is definitely a massive waste of your time and money. Hugely disappointing!

I'm sorry you feel that way about Cross Stitch Creator. The app was not intended to allow creating patterns from scratch, and the description was specifically worded to attempt to convey that. That being said, you can still create a pattern from scratch by generating a pattern of the desired size using any image (solid color or completely transparent is best), then delete all the stitches in the editor and begin drawing your pattern. The editor was made for cleaning up generated patterns, not creating them from scratch, so it is a little lacking in tools for that. Creating from scratch might not be the most convenient, but it definitely is possible. I'm here to help and am willing to work with you to solve your issues, so if you need help using the app or want to provide a better description so others don't misinterpret it as well, please reach out to support@adamscoolapps.com.
  • For $10 I expected more features

A few key features missing - once you save a pattern, there’s no way to go back in and edit it again. Missed something? Too bad, start over. Also I wish there was a way to start with a blank grid and create your own patterns from scratch. Don’t waste your money.

The latest version (2.16) now has the ability to edit existing patterns. Generating a pattern using a completely transparent image will result in the editor having a completely blank grid. If you don't use a transparent image, in 2.16 you can now set the current color to "No color" and then use the fill tool to essentially erase all the stitches to get a blank grid.
  • Need help

I like a lot about this app, but when printing out the pdf the stitches that are supposed to be black, are printing out as a white stitch. Even with me painting in with black when editing. It won’t print the black stitches. Please help! I will be selling my own designs, and this needs to be figured out. Thx

  • So far so good

Bought this app as it looked like a slightly simpler version of what I was using on PC. At the moment the only things that are really missing from the pattern editor is the ability to select a colour in your pattern and see what the DMC thread number is, and the ability to generate a preview of the pattern without the grid.
Haven’t attempted to print a pattern yet, so hopefully that works ok

Thanks for the feature suggestions! Feel free to contact us via email (About Us -> Contact Us) with more details or other suggestions if you have them! UPDATE: It just occurred to me, in the editor, if you use the eye dropper tool on the stitch you want to know the DMC number of and then tap the color swatch in the toolbar, the popup will display the color number at the top. I don't remember if this feature existed before or after your review, but wanted to let you know in case you were still facing the issue.
  • Unbelievable

I’ve used this for about 10 minutes to familiarise myself with the app. It’s so intuitive I feel I’m an expert already. The quality and accuracy is beyond belief. I bought a diamond painting that was very disappointing - I can now save my investment by using this app. I’m totally in love with the app already. The features are fantastic, the interface is brilliant. I’d like to give it 10 stars plus!

  • Easy to use!

The app is great and very easy to use. I digitally recreate my sketches and turn them into patterns and this tool is my first pattern purchase. Only issue is that once you’re done editing a pattern you can’t re-edit. I’ve found that one pattern I missed erasing out a couple extra stitches and had to edit it in the PDF which was more time consuming. Just having the ability to delete or edit the. color of a stitch would help tremendously in that additional edit stage.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you enjoy the app. Editing patterns after generation is already in the works, and should be out in the coming months. UPDATE: version 2.16 has been released and adds the ability to edit existing patterns.

App looked good so I purchased it, but am very disappointed to find that I can’t outline anything, just pixels of colour!
  • Lulumack

I truly love this app...the best and most useful $15 I have ever spent. I ve always done a bit of cross stitch but this app makes it so much easier ... as I can isolate colors when the chart is complex - as in each stitch a different colour. And being able to convert my own photos into charts an added bonus. The sky s the limit!

  • Wasted money

Bought this app but cannot select a colour to remove it in bulk. Very disappointed.

    Developer Response

Version 2.16 has added the ability to set the current color to "No color" so that you can use the fill tool to erase contiguous blocks of color. This isn't quite the same as being able to remove a color from the entire pattern in one go, but should hopefully help with your use case.
  • Just got this today and it’s amazing

So my review is coming from a fresh perspective. It is an easy to use and pretty thorough app. The option to save in color as a pdf is a godsend. Love it.

The option to just change the resolution based on pinching or stretching the image across the grid is very helpful. It allows me to really get the full picture at the stitching size I desire. Love love love it.

One and only con: unless I am missing something I can’t see. It would nice to have a way to edit the colors after the pattern is generated. Ex: I uploaded a drawing I made and the eyes are small black dots... best suited as 1 or 4 squares at the resolution I was aiming for. I got 1 black dot and 3 gray for one eye and two dark gray and two lighter gray for the other. It would helpful to be able to change the gray dots to black or white as I see fit.

This program is awesome though. Definitely worth the ten bucks. Definitely definitely definitely... love it.
