  • Doesn’t work well for NYC

Mostly because the pods are all in places where you have to be a university student and can’t actually enter the area where the pods are... the one I was able to enter, the wait was quite long, it’s in the open, and no option to rinse. The app itself doesn’t load quick, or resets to your current location, making searching a pain. I also couldn’t mark the locations for which a school ID was needed to let other lactating mothers know.

Most of the complaints were similar to other users who wrote before me. The idea is great though. I hope it will grow and benefit others, but for me, going to a bathroom may be quicker :( since that’s where I seem to be directed when nothing is available

Thanks so much for the feedback. It definitely isn't the best-case scenario and highlights the need for more public spaces to provide lactation accommodations. You can always leave a review saying which locations need IDs and we can add those to the description. Unfortunately, including plumbing would limit the mobility of our pods and alter their affordability for too many facilities. We always recommend that pods be placed near bathrooms so that mamas can clean their pump parts and dispose of any trash! The free app lists both Mamava pods & 1000's of public pump-friendly spaces. Thx to moms adding new locations, our crowdsourced app is more roBUST. If you search for a space & there isn't one, we need your help. Mobilize your squad to find spaces near you & add them to the app making the next mama’s search better. It really does take a village!
  • Beautiful and clean! Thank you!

Amazing, clean and cozy private boxes for moms with their babies. Here you can completely relax, take your time and not to be worried about noise and buzz going on in the airport outside. App is so easy to use and navigate. Dear mommas don’t waste your time on dirty public restrooms to change diaper and breastfeed. Here is the best, cleanest and safest place for you and your baby.

  • Pods lack basic amenities

I was already upset about needing to download this app in the first place. In an era where data privacy continues to be a huge problem, it is unethical to require someone to download an app and share their personal information in order to access needed services.

I downloaded the app, against my better judgement, and the search feature would not work with location services turned off. The unlock feature also did not work.

Upon entering the pod, I was dismayed to realize that it lacked even the most basic amenities for a nursing room. No sink or hand sanitizer, which is a huge problem for both pumping and nursing. No changing table, diaper disposal, or even a trash can. What a joke.

I will be deleting the app and filing a complaint with the venue that is utilizing this coercive, completely non-functional service.

  • Can't log in

"A user account for these credentials could not be found"

I have the correct email and password, I can reset/recover my password and I'm very carefully putting in exactly what I change it to but still get the error pop up.
  • Great concept, buggy app.

Note to others having problems with this app: two other good app options are pumpspotting and MomsPumpHere (though some of the MPH ones are out of date).

I love the concept of both the pods and the app. However it’s almost unusable in its current form:
    - Tapping the search icon crashes the app every time (I’m running ios12).
    - Every time I view info about a location then hit back to return to the map, it resets to my current location instead of the location where I was viewing. Then I have to zoom out and navigate to the place where I was viewing — since as mentioned above the search won’t work to get you to wherever you’re looking.
    - Every time the map resets or opens, there’s a significant delay while the app hangs.
    - I can’t find a way to save/favorite locations despite there being a section for that.

Really hope the developers will address these issues so the app can reach its potential!

  • Great help!!

I used one of the pods at BWI airport and the app let me know that I was close to a pod and asked if I wanted to access it. I click “yes” and the pod was automatically unlocked. I was able to pump before my flight and get some relief after an 8hr day of no pumping!! Great app and solution for all traveling moms!!

  • Helpful !

This has truly made pumping after returning to work comfortable. I pumped in the break room bathroom before, and sometimes it was just gross 🤢.
The only reason this doesn't get 5 starts from me is.. I wish there was some sort of "knock" feature. Just a way for mamas on the inside to let waiting mamas know about when they'll be done.

  • 5 Stars for Mamava service, 3 for the app itself!

The Mamava pods are amazing and saved me from the embarrassment of pumping in public or disgust/anti-sanitary of having to do it in a bathroom stall several times! Being able to find other alternatives is also great. Absolutely love it! Thank you!!!! App however could use a bit of work. Submitting reviews and new locations is difficult if not impossible, zooming in and out every time is annoying and takes to long to update, etc.

  • The best ever!

I was so pleased to know that I didn’t have to pump my babies milk in a bathroom stall at a conference I was attending for 3 days. It was difficult enough being away from her at 10 weeks, I almost cried when I saw the clean pod with a comfy chair, electrical outlet, organic treat samples and teas. Thank goodness another mom saw the need and filled it with Mamava! I wholeheartedly endorse this company! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • Unusable

The concept is fantastic, but the app is currently unusable on my phone because every time I view the map to locate a pod, a notification pops up promoting me to turn Bluetooth on, even when Bluetooth is ALREADY ON. It is a “hard stop” notification that you can’t dismiss, and that forces you to go to Settings (only other option is to force quit the app). Many locations on the map don’t even require Bluetooth to use (the crowd sourced locations) so this notification is unnecessary. Please remove this logic.
