  • Top app

For those within the police this app is truly fantastic. It contains all the legislation and powers you could possibly need in a handy, easily accessible database. Yes, it does have a 99p per month subscription but that is truly worth it. The app is continually updated in line with changes within the law. This is unlike other law apps I have seen that are out of date. The reference library is especially useful with documents such as gravity matrix, PACE codes, charging guidance, and crime recording standards to name but a few. If you're on the front line this is the most useful app you can have. Don't be put of with 99p a month that you won't notice!

  • This App is Very helpful and has not let me down.

This is one of the best apps (if not the best) I have come across on UK law and enforcement, it is well lied out, and has not let me down.

Has a Youth Support Worker working with Young People in the local community I alway get asked question’s about the law and their right and what may happen to them.

This app allows me to give good information to Young People and their Carers which I have used many of a time when asked a question.

This app helps the Young People to make informed choices sometime not the right one, but they are endowed with the knowledge of what may happen to them it the do make the wrong choice.

Also I feel this app allows me to empower Young People, Carers with good knowledge and information.

It has help take incidents up to the next reporting level when it was needed.

    Thank You PocketSgt.

Hi UK_94, thank you so much for your continued support. I am delighted to hear you are using the app as a tool to communicate with and educate young people. I do not fully comprehend your statement about not having access to "one of the email listed". I have received your email about the matter and will obviously work hard to solve the issue you are facing. Everyone, however is entitled to the updates but those updates require a contribution / subscription of 99p per month.
  • Well worth it.

I had this app and then changed to an alternative when the subscription was introduced. I soon reverted back to pocket Sgt! The alternative was poor by comparison, as it held probably a third of the information on here. I use this app most days and find the information more concise and the app is far quicker and easier to use than PNLD. The offence codes are a godsend! Love it!

Thank you for coming back and kind comments Bradders! As promised, funds are now being reinvested to bring the users much, much more. If there's ever any content you'd like adding then please get in touch and I will assist if possible.
  • Really useful and informative 🚓

I've been using the app for a while now and it's packed with useful information and points to prove. I find the checklists very handy and the standard mnemonics help to refresh your knowledge.

It's definitely worth subscribing to at least thank the owner for all the hard work they have put into this app.

Make this your go to app! 🚔

Thank you djrussbarnes! My role is to coordinate the development of the app in line with what subscribers want. It's the users who have got the app to where it is today. There is more work underway now that will take Pocket Sergeant to the next level. Thank you again for your support!
  • Great app but very disappointed with the new subscription

As said I think this is a very good app and is extremely detailed.

However I'm very disappointed to see a monthly subscription introduced after so long. I appreciate that it costs money to produce you'd think you'd be covered by the fact you'd paid for the app to begin with.

PC Surname, I understand the frustration. However, the question we should ask ourselves is: do we just want Pocket Sergeant to become "just another police app?". I have provided a breakdown of funds that are raised through the sale of the app. You can find that under th "App Updates" tab on the Pocket Sergeant website. I hope after reading this, you'll understand why a subscription of 99p per month for legislative updates has been introduced.
  • Fantastic App!

Thank you for this wonderful app. For those complaining about the subscription model, the creator of the app has told people time and time again that he retired as an officer to focus on this app and to help up and coming and experienced officers to remember things they would forget and only for 99p! You can buy an ice cream which is gone in 50 seconds for that much let alone an app which gives you endless resources and information.

    Thank you.

ChrisB5012, I understand those people's concerns surrounding the 99p per month but to dispel any cynicism / myths they just need to trust in what already exists. The app will continue growing due to the support of so many like you. Thank you for your continued support!
  • Fantastic app - you don't get anything for free

In the modern world, everyone wants everything for free. How do they expect people to invest time and effort into creating an application like this and then give it away for free?!

I'm more than happy with the 99p subscription. It's so useful to have at hand. At the end of the day, it's being used on a £700 phone. What's 99p?

MattIggo, thank you for such a positive and understanding review. With your support, Pocket Sergeant will continue to grow. Had an overwhelming response so far. For just 99p per month people can be part of the largest user-led project UK policing has probably ever seen. Thanks again for your fantastic support. It's very much appreciated.
  • Very Useful! Well worth the cost of a cheeseburger once a month..

Great tool. Recently applied the monthly subscription cost, I believe it is great value for money. I'm using it regularly both on shift and off, many times in the parade room it has been used to answer questions between different officers when working through enquiries. It has all the important points you need day to day.

Ooo$iT, thank you for such positive feedback. The fact the app has been used to answer questions in the parade room is very much how it should be. If it wasn't for users' support like you, the app wouldn't be where it is today. Thank you for your continued support.
  • Happy to pay subs for the service

I have used this app since I became a police officer and have found it invaluable in my day-to-day role as a frontline officer. The sheer volume of legislation, useful contacts and checklists are invaluable helping me to do my job properly and efficiently. The paltry sum of £4 one off + £1 per month is less than the Queen gets off me most days. Thanks to the developer for continuing this service and taking steps to make it better.

Hi 4d3r, this is just fantastic feedback and the very reason Pocket Sergeant exists. If there's ever any content you find the app is lacking - please get in touch. I will always add content for you where I can. Thank you again for your show of support for an ever-evolving, Pocket Sergeant!
  • A shameful app

I bought this sometime ago, willing to pay for it as at the time had good reviews. Found it useful on occasion but didn't use all the time.
Now it has moved to a subscription and the app shuts down on occasion if you refuse to pay (an option you have to decline every time the app is opened), I find the idea morally offensive as there was no mention of a subscription when I bought it.
There are equivalent apps at the same SINGLE price like iPlod which supply same information.
A real shame for what was a good app ruined by a developer who didn't consider the business model. I have read the reason why subscriptions have been added although this is not clearly displayed on the app description but in 'in app purchases'
    I will not be subscribing.

Hi Mr W Chops, people are of course within their rights to try other apps. However, please bear in mind unless apps have other sources of funding - they will inevitably move to a similar model too. Please see here for details as to why the subscriptions of 99p per month have been introduced: http://pocketsergeant.co.uk/app-updates
