My Favorite Biking App
After using Zwift for several years I tired of the social side of stationary biking and tried Zwift. They have group rides and other challenges like most platforms but I prefer to bike at my own pace and length of time. There are hundreds of rides from the flattest beach to the tallest peaks, so it’s easy to find something to fit your needs.
One thing I wish for is the ability to pick up on a ride where you left off on the previous ride. I can only ride 30 minutes at a time, so it would be interesting and fun to be able to finish a long ride at a later time. Other than that, it’s been a reliable and fun application, perfect for my needs.

Makes indoor training much more interesting, and ‘real’.
I’ve never really taken to indoor training. I really do enjoy the freedom of cycling as opposed to ‘training’.
Having said that, sometimes it’s just not possible to ride outside, rare but it does happen. I tried Zwift but never enjoyed the game side of it, the boost buttons or the gamey graphics.
For me FulGaz is much more an enjoyable experience with the real footage and genuine gradients.
If I’m ever in a period where I need to ride indoors, then FulGaz is the better option.

Amazing app
I haven't worked out as hard on the bike since I got this app.
Join in feature
It’s a great app, love the real videos relative to the other competitor app. Would be great to have a live global feature though. It’s boring riding alone.
Tried them all…
Or a few at least 🙄….
I started with Zwift which is great for competing or comparing with other riders and there are always some worse and some better than you. The graphics are good but obviously computer generated so somewhat unreal.
Rouvy has true video but the overlayed cyclists are computer generated and sometimes appear to be floating over the terrain, so again somewhat unreal.
FulGaz has real video seen from the cyclist’s view - ie your view. You may be cycling on your own or with any number of others eg occasionally in a peloton, depending on the choice of ride. I once rode in a FulGaz peloton in Australia with Chris Froome!
If you go faster, they go faster so you cannot choose to overtake someone, that only happens if the original recording cyclist overtook someone, but you can compete against the clock or against an imaginary preset ghost rider whose ability you set before riding.
The choice of rides is huge and can be selected by distance, elevation or any word in the title. Some of the rides take in stunning scenery with mountains, lakes, rivers, villages, towns etc. It’s great fun to cycle through places you know and will recognise. There are velodromes with choice of lap counts, famous mountain climbs and parts of well known competition venues.
For me it works well and is great fun.

Best cycling app available
I got into indoor riding with zwift a few years ago, but was never really interested in riding online. I also hated the fact I couldn’t choose where to ride and was tied to their schedule. When they added the TdF climbs I really enjoyed that, but again, being tied to their schedule was infuriating. When they started to increase the cost I started looking for a new app.
I tried a few and found FulGaz to be by far the best. I found I loved riding up mountains, and FulGaz has lots of them. Over this last year I’ve ridden a good selection including the Galibier, Telegraphe, Tourmalet, Alp d’Huez, Mont Ventoux. I never thought I’d be riding things like this but by starting on some of the easier climbs I’ve worked up to achieve things I never thought possible.
A typical mountain ascent of 10 - 20km gives a 1 - 2 hour workout and is more than enough to push my limits. This has resulted in more fitness gains than I ever got on Zwift or Sufferfest. And is massively more interesting as you actually feel your climbing the real thing.
This fitness boost has translated into massive personal gains in the real world this summer. Living in the Peak District there’s no shortage of steep hills and I’ve ticked off all my bucket list climbs including the longest climb in the area of 16km.
I’m off to Italy next week to climb my first real mountain, all thanks to FulGaz!!

Best indoor cycle app
I’ve used FulGaz for a while now, having tried the rest, for me this is the best. As the rides are all (99.9%) filmed by cyclists, on bikes, the speed and road position is as close to real life as it’s possible to get.
The number of very high quality rides (2,000 +) is added to every week. From classic tour ascents to users local rides, there is always something new to try.
There are structured training courses. I did the 6 week FTP course, which was great and saw me increase my power by around 10%.
I can’t recommend this highly enough. Reasonable subscription, which can be shared with a partner and 1st rate support and very friendly community. Magic.

Great realistic rides around the world!
FulGaz is one of my two main riding apps. The realism and excellent videos are what keeps bringing me back. I can’t ride the gamified apps (Zwift etc), which do nothing for keeping me motivated. I love exploring new countries and trails in Fulgaz - I haven’t had any in-ride glitches for a few months now, all stable, though a while back I couldn’t log in until I restarted the iPad, though this hasn’t happened recently. Five stars if the UI was snappier / I never know whether my “click” was registered until 2 seconds later. Support / Clem has been great, responding within a few hours. Using this on a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, KICKR v6 and Polar H10. No connection issues.

Look elsewhere for route videos
I have tried all the video training apps before choosing the one to go with and this is by far the worst - I would only use it if you want to make sure you'll loose your training data and be constantly interrupted.
The route videos are not bad but UI is dated and lack any sort of AR, like Rouvy and Tacx. From time to time the video stops and never starts again and you can't restart because your activity wouldn't continue
Instead of fixing the glitches, they added a number of extra features that are not very helpful do nothing but slow down the buffering (overlay map, screenshots, etc) - despite having set the lowest streaming setting
The save for later/ pause options don't always work

Good Ride UI, Horrible Menu
Excellent Connectivity
It quick and seamlessly connected with my trainer and HR monitor
Excellent Riding Emulation
Assuming the data is correct, it recreated the ride experience
- Metric/Imperial Conversion
- Rounding errors shows that metric was an afterthought
- Sections
- Deleting one section deleted all my sections, UI really frustrating
- You need to hide the gear button on the upper right hand side. It falsely sets the expectation that it will bring me to a context menu specific to the screen I'm on.

- UX
- Asymmetries in design and UI elements
- Downloaded maps don't show in the downloaded section
