Chat is a problem
If I select a ride not knowing it has the chat option, I have supposedly disabled chat, I do not want to download it so then try to come out of it but find I can’t do this, which means I can’t click back to the previous page to choose a different ride, so I have to shut down my iPad and restart before I can get out of the “locked” screen.
This is a nuisance for me, all I want to do is ride, not waste time shutting down and restarting my device before I can get going again.
Otherwise I enjoy the selection of rides and workouts on Fulgaz.

Pretty Weak
I have used this for 6 months and have been disappointed with most aspects of it. I just started a ride that was to be a beach ride in Cypress. The first 2/3 of the ride saw no ocean at all, and when the ocean was visible in the distance there was very limited interface with viewpoints, ride through of scenic beach accesses or vistas cruises.
The app offers cyclists a Go Pro and a battery in exchange for filming 12 road rides. I am not sure what sort of talent one would expect to recruit with $600 of gear over 12 rides. The lack of skilled photography is evident and many of the rides I have seen on the app are boring and lack the type of visuals that people in this decade expect.
This app will likely be left at the roadside by others who are focused on creating a more engaging and quality experience for users.

Realism Helps
Really like this app. Because riders actually record their rides, one can see the world via a bicycle in this app. The Ironman courses are not usually shot by users, and are less enjoyable than user shot videos. I've been using the app for three years and love it on Macintosh. I highly recommend the Mac app version.

Crashes
I have been using FulGaz for six weeks. I was so thrilled with it during my free trial period that I paid for a full year. Deeply regretting that today.
Today:
1. I kept getting the notice that I was not signed in. I signed in six weeks ago and it has never said that before. Then to get signed in I had to close the App and then start all over again.
2. When I eventually managed to start a ride it crashed after less than one minute. I tried several different rides and the same thing happened on all of them.
3. I tried the "help" which was very unhelpful. It suggested nothing that helped this issue today.
I have given up for today and if the same thing is still happening tomorrow I would like a refund of my subscription.

Crashing App
Really cool app in theory but I was unable to make it past 25 seconds of any ride as the app continuously crashed. Unable to download courses either. Save your money for Zwift instead.
Love it

Go-to indoor cycling app
I was going to knock a star off for some very occasional instability issues, but then felt the need to counterbalance the hysterical one star reviews from people who are more than likely using the wrong gear or old iOS devices and then blaming the app. Videos are mostly very high quality, come from a huge variety of places, and many are extremely scenic. Gradient changes are perfectly good and smooth (at least on my Wattbike). Workout importing is simple and works well provided you don’t use an event course. The support team is very responsive and helpful.
This app is more of a ‘keeper’ than Zwift (good workout system but lacks variety after a while) or Rouvy (hate the avatars and its videos look odd) for me.

Best app got even better
I think that this app is by far the best bike trainer program. All of the competitors were either too animated or didn’t make me feel like I was actually on the road. And the most recent update showed the different elevations overlaid on the images, which was a major improvement. Clearly shows that the developers and the company is interested in creating the best possible experience. Never going back Zwift or Rouvy.

Update V5: frustrated before but not now.
I have now used new V5 all week. I love it. The ability to filter inside the app is great (ICYMI: with earlier versions it was better to use website to find ride, then go to app and hope you could remember ride name for search). The new filtering makes it much easier (still not 100% filtering) and very very good. New device connection is in a really good place for flow.
Good work!!
FOR THISE TRYING TO DECIDE: this is the best ride app out there. Zwift is too gameish, Rouvy and BKOOL are OK. It not FULGAZ. The videos here are filmed to exact requirments and submitted for edit, not directly posted by users. Edits are flawless.
Previous review below:
I have used this app for 2-3 years now. On older iPad I was plagued by drop-outs and/or video freeze. Very frustrating as their is no way to ‘bump’ or refresh in the hope to regain control, rather you have to back all out of the ride and restart, losing both place in ride and motivation to start over. I do note that my new IPad seems to be performing better so maybe just a memory glitch. Another point that drives me crazy: no filtering of rides in app. I am forced to go to website to apply duration, distance, toughness filters to locate a ride. Then I need to remember the name during bike setup and device connection. Please put filtering capability into app.

This app has changed my home exercise routine (for the better!)
Paired with a smart trainer FulGaz let’s you explore the world while improving your fitness. I actually look forward to my rides and the interesting places I’m going to visit. The latest update has significantly improved searching, storing and selecting new rides. For the time being, the experience is less about social riding and avatars and more about exploring new ride locations. Worth every penny for the subscription. Obviously, highly recommended.
