What a waste of time
Only downloaded this app to see some recommendations for a trip to New York. Have to sign up for an account and tell it what restaurants I like before it will let me do anything. After all that faff is the least user friendly app I have ever used. Just get a pen and paper people. That would be more advanced than this rubbish.Show lessCC1158

Well, thank you for your comment. We’re a social network so yes, you need an account to use it, just like Instagram or others. You can use a pen and paper instead, but then you’ll be able to lose it… which is also why you have an account on mapstr. To avoid losing everything :-)I have finally found the perfect app for my bucket list!
I just want to say that you guys did a great job with this app. For several years now I’ve been keeping everything in my notes, but this is clearly superior. I have one improvement that can be made since I saw another app do it. I like the tags feature, but you can make it so that we can modify the order that they are shown in on our list? I think it would be nice for aesthetic purposes. Because that way my tags can all be in the same order down the list without me having to delete and re add them in order every time.Show lessShawn675
Used to Love it
I’ve been using Mapster for a number of years. I travel a lot for business and I would store restaurants and other places for reference for when I’m on a trip and seek a restaurant or tourist spot I have saved in the area.
It is probably user error but as the app has evolved, my ability to find saved items where I’m at, or search for places I’ve stored, but don’t recall exactly what they are called, has become an exercise in frustration for me. I really liked it as a reference library of my places, I’m not really interested in the social media aspects.Show lesstraffic_doc

I just wish the app was more offline/offgrid friendly. Or at least have the ability to toggle a button to turn on/save for offline use. The app will not open if I have no signal/wifi. And sometimes I can get it to work offline if I stick my phone in airplane mode (50-50 chance). Other than that, it’s a pretty swell app.Show lessBloodvayne
Good With Potential!
I am a long time Rego user - but it appears that Rego is now barely being maintained anymore so I found Mapstr and have moved all my locations to it. Overall a very good app with some remaining opportunities. * True backup data (export is not enough) * Do not require address for locations added with coordinates. * Allow me to add via coordinates (using current location) without cell connection - I am often “off grid” doing photography or other activity and need to be able to save a location. * Share only locations tied to a tag - I am not interested in sharing all locations with anyone. * Easily switch between map and satellite on map view. I keep having to go to google maps satellite to confirm location image. Just some initial thoughts - will continue to send others as a solid app for saving locations is a key part of enabling my adventures! Keep up the good work!

J’ai téléchargé l’application pour les carte mais l’application semble plus intéressée par du tracking. J’ai abandonné la création de compte a l’écran qui me demande mon numéro de téléphone sans option pour passer !!! 😡Stephaneonline

Dire que vous êtes déçu alors que vous n’avez même pas encore essayé, c’est un peu dur. :( N’hésitez pas à nous envoyer un message sur hello@mapstr.com pour qu’on vous montre comment faire la création de compte sans laisser votre numéro de téléphone si vous ne voulez pas le faire. Ps : on le demande pour vous montrer vos amis pas pour vous tracker !Love mapstr BUT
The interface of the app could be a bit more user friendly, maybe a bit more slick and easy/ fast to use. When you are looking for places I feel as though the list could be easier to read. Could there be an option to check and Instagram feed / website / Facebook of the location you are looking at? LOVE the app - my biggest wish would be for more people to know about it. Mapstr is by far my favorite utility app. I love recommending others use it because if they don’t have mapstr then they aren’t able to remember all of the cool places they hear about to visit, especially in our home city, Chicago.MikeGPotter
Declining quality of this app
This app used to be fantastic but the recent changes to it have been fairly detrimental
Firstly when I open the app I don’t want/care about a news page, everyone is clearly only using it for the map section
Secondly the performance has taken a hit recently, I used to be able to speed through different saved places but now there is a second lag when selecting/deselecting places
The centre arrow button… hitting that should always just centre on your location, move the ‘centre elsewhere’ button somewhere separate
Basically I used to love this app and recommend to everyone because it was so smooth and easy to use and had such a clean interface, it’s not the same anymoreShow lessjimbob1916

Hello Jim Ow that’s a very sad feedback, and I’m really really to read this. We make a lot of variations and attempts about the app launch screen, and this week it’s the newsfeed, but it’s new. We’ll see how people react. We have to make attempts to continuously improve the app. About the performance, that shouldn’t be the case. We would love to have a video of your screen (hello@mapstr.com) as we don’t experience this ourselves. We’d love to help. As for the « locate me » feature, it is based on lots of measurements and it seems it’s the best way to make people choose between where they are and where they open to go. Très bonne application! Par contre, elle pourrait être améliorée. Notamment, il faudrait pouvoir chercher un endroit par nom dans la barre de recherche et avoir la possibilité de l’ajouter à notre carte directement. Aussi, sur la carte, le tri par ville devrait être ajouté ainsi qu’un menu par lettre déroulant (un peu à la Spotify ou Apple Music) pour chercher plus rapidement dansles listes.Show lessabelhinha8
