Can’t even view all my favorites
I’ve been a dA user since the beginning, and the mobile versions have always been…lacking, so I avoided it. But I came back to it because of getting a large tablet and I wanted to use it to browse art and collect favorites. That’s it. I knew doing everything else on browser would be best.
Currently you can only see 10 of your favorites collections in the app.
This is an app killer for me since I only use the mobile version to browse, not to submit.
Many people use collections for reference art, or stock resources, so this is cutting even more functionality than just basic browsing.
It seems crazy this is an issue. I just want to browse art. Stop making the app stand in the way!Show lessThaumicMistborn
What’s with the search?!
Seriously, I’m trying to use this website on my computer, and it’s a problem for my phone too: often times when I try to look for a specific artist, The matches have nothing to do with what I looked for. I can even add one specific word to make it easier and though it should normally display only one picture, other times it displays a thousand matches that have nothing to do with what I searched. This really makes the app that I once enjoyed very unusable, and until this is fixed, I might never use this app again.Show lessSbiernick
Can't Log in
On the Ipad I can't seem to log in I also have this app on my phone and it works fine hopefully this gets corrected.Nath 😎
Could be good but unstable
This app could be really good, but suffers from annoying design choices and frustrating stability issues. The biggest issue is that it’s regular crashes, even on the top iPhone with lots of memory. Basically, browse too many images and it’ll get to a point where it’ll stop loading them, showing a black image instead and then crash short while later. In the mean time it causes all my background apps to run out of memory and then need reloading when I go back to them. It feels like there’s a complete lack of memory management within this app! The other issues are more minor, such as scrolling that easily goes past the next image, then scroll back up and it shoots past it again. The star icon is to small to easily tap, often needing several taps. The watching button doesn’t often remember I’m already watching the user, likewise the watch to see the image also doesn’t remember, so I have to regular press the watch button again for every hidden image. All in all it’s just usable, and some of the artists are amazing, but the app should be a lot better.Show lessUkSamo
Fix content filtering
Most of what I took issue with before has been fixed, but content filtering in searches has to change. There are some search terms that the engine just won’t take without saying there might be “sensitive content.” I can’t even search the name “Zelda” without having to turn off the mature content filter, and most of the content I see doesn’t qualify as “mature.” This may be indicative of a bigger problem with the platform itself, but I’d appreciate if it just gave me the results that aren’t labeled “mature” by the site. If the mature content filter is on, don’t tell me to turn it off to see the content I want to see. I don’t need to look at pictures of someone in a state of undress just so I can find a more innocent picture.Show lesslazerman56
you dont need to limit mobile apps to barely functional
cant edit your profile, gives an error message every single time. most features just arent there. i literally only downloaded it because i couldnt edit my profile in safari, and when you try to save it you just get an error message.
theres SO many features that could be added that are available on the desktop site, and i cant even imagine the reasoning for not having them available on here.Show lessmartymccry
Lacking desktop features for mobile…
I’m giving it a 3 because this app does have potential.
However, there’s no buttons to actually join or search for groups— you can only click on “Watch” and that’s it. I find it very odd that they didn’t add the “join group” feature for mobile. I’m new to the app and I really do enjoy it, however the app is completely different and lacks many features.
Along with that, the app crashes, the scrolling is a bit off or “chunky”, nothing loads properly, etc,.
I think adding buttons for joining groups and maybe fixing more glitches and bugs would improve this, along with the focus on the report system or dealing with art theft. Not many people can stop art theft but reporting and deleting the accounts that do these things can help out a LOT. Please, please add some new features and fix all the bugs, the app really does have potential. The desktop version is also very confusing for me, so I have to use this app…Show lessCarlei H. S.
Mobile Issues
While I appreciate the ability to finally see gifs and videos on the mobile app, these latest updates seem to have spawned a large issue.
When viewing a profile’s favorites, only the first 10 collection folders show up for viewing. The rest are inaccessible on the app, though they are clearly present on the website. I hope you find a fix as quickly as possible.Show lessmch dmp
Inability of notifying messages
plz add notifications for DeviantArt messages as a feature. It’s a basic necessity every messaging platform has. The app’s notif system would notify me everything except for messages having me to manually check. Notifs for DA messages should’ve came along with the new messaging feature itself.Kevin Fajardo
Not what it used to be
I have been a deviant since 2017 I think. And I loved the old set up but ever since this site has flipped to a new chapter, I lost my love for it. Granted I still post from time to time but I can’t bring myself to accept the changes.
With the newest update that just came out for this app, suddenly half my gallery is marked Mature even though it’s not. I’ll go on to the website and edit the post but my art is still marked mature on the app. I can’t change it.
I’m sorry to say this DeviantArt but you took a turn for the worst not the better. And that’s not just me but millions of artists saying this.Show lessT0X1CPARAD0X
