  • Very good but one bug

I’m a student you see, and the app works fine, but I have one problem; every time I’m on drawing and press undo, my screen zooms out and if I post my work, it’ll loom like that. I’m not sure if your zoomed in on the specific part of work it will send like that, but this bug is seriously annoying and has caused me to restart my work several times. Honestly, another you could add is like a private chat wear you could add anyone to a chat, a bit like a WhatsApp group.

  • Best platform to use for elementary school

I have always loved Seesaw, but when we suddenly got thrown into distance learning I had to think on my feet and use Seesaw on a whole new level. Seesaw did not disappoint! I was able to use it to assign activities to students on different levels, on different days at different times. I could provide feedback and interact with my students either through text or audio recordings. I even could record myself making changes to their assignments so they could see how to do their assignment. I also created a class blog so that my students could interact with each other while at home. This allowed them to post pictures or videos and comment on each other’s posts. I was still the moderator on all of those. I raved about it so much that my district has now purchased it for all of our elementary schools to use! I highly recommend it!!!!

  • Work in progress

Seesaw is great for casually keeping parents in the loop with their kids work in school and some limited amount of outside of school learning. It is not great in how it organizes content or in how it lets you search for content. It is mainly set up in a blog style format putting the most recent assignments at the top. Unfortunately by default it resets you to the newest item in the “news feed”. This can make navigating to old assignments very difficult. There is a calendar view for completed assignments, but not for assignments in the “news feed” queue. Some schools are trying to stretch seesaw into their primary distance learning vehicle and that is clearly not its intended purpose. In order for that to work the basic interface needs to be evaluated and updated.

  • Best Online Communication Platform I’ve Used!

I’ve been using Seesaw for 5-years - in 3 different schools - and I love it. More importantly, I’ve yet to meet a child or parent/guardian that can’t access or use Seesaw easily. It’s incredibly straight forward to set up a class. The downloadable, whole-class and individual child/parent QR codes make accessing Seesaw very easy and the phone app is really popular. Sending parent/pupil announcements is simple, and uploading and sharing videos, e-links, photos, docs, and presentations is ever so easy. The kids enjoy having their own folders to store and share their work and the parents/guardians love having a window into their child’s school day.
    AN EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION PLATFORM.

  • Good

I am a pupil who is using this in the corona home learning, and it is a great and simple app to do your work. But there are a few problems. Firstly, you can’t add a video straight onto a slide, which is annoying so you have to add it as a separate activity. Secondly, you can only have 1000 words in a text box which is sad. Also, the camera isn’t great on it if you want to take a picture or video straight from the seesaw camera. I would recommend using the normal camera app then just uploading it. Lastly, it glitches quite a bit which is annoying. But it is a well made app where you teachers can like and comment on your post and go straight into it to mark it. Simple app and it is where I have been doing all of my work for the last few months. I recommend it aside from the complaints.
Sorry for the long review and I hope you have the time to read it. From, anonymous.

  • Who made this

It’s so bad I can’t believe people like this it’s just bad I had to do it and it sucks crap
  • A few flaws

Now my child has got used to the formatting system within the app she is doing ok. She has to use my iPad though as the app was very clunky and difficult to use on her own kindle fire.
We have one major flaw though. Sometimes, when changing between apps, say switching to safari to watch a video on bitesize, we will switch back to seesaw and discover the activity page she had been working on will have closed and therefore any work done will not have saved. There is no auto save. This is very soul destroying for a 7 year old.
It also happened sometimes when the app had accidentally been closed, but not force closed. Open back up and the work has all gone. Please add in auto saving somehow?

when i change something it will get out of the app and delete my work
  • Seesaw is not the best

I am a student currently using seesaw and this app is great accept for a few things.
The first thing is that there are things on the side and bottom that allow you to change from writing something to drawing and ect this is great but the problem I have with this is that it often gets in the way of reading things that are on the side or bottom behind it. What I am saying is that you should make a way to hide it and bring it back.
The second thing that annoys me about this app is that the bar that pops up on the right side of your phone to change the colour of text or your pencil is witch NEVER GOES AWAY and it blocks a lot of my vision of the screen. Maybe this problem could be fixed if I had a phone with a bigger screen but I don’t.
The third and final thing that I want changed about this app is that you can not change the brush size when using any one of the drawing tools. To fix this problem you could maybe make it so if you hold your finger on a drawing tool at the bottom of the screen then it will bring up a options menu.
I hope this app gets better so I can give it a 5 star review.
Edit: maybe also change it so when someone who is not the teacher comments on your work it doesn’t count as a notification because at the moment I get a ton of notifications of classmates commenting something irrelevant to me or my work (and they don’t even comment on my work and I still get the notifications.).
