  • Worst customer customer support

    I took a month trial and was still on the fence on whether I should move ahead with a subscription. I’ve decided to return a device while I’m still considering the options. I then decided to go ahead and “renew” my subscription which I proposed right through the app. Of course, there was no mention about any extra charges when I selected a $30/mo option. When inquired with their support on the device shipment they said that I had to pay $175 for it or prepay for the annual sub. Which would have been fine, if it was clearly stated at the time of the purchase from the whoop app. Upon explaining the situation, they’ve stated their ground and basically tried to force me into paying extra. I had to waste time and dispute the transaction through my bank. This is very unfortunate as I did like the app and a device. But because of their serious issues with customer support, I doubt I’ll ever be their customer. They should learn the lesson to be willing to work with their clients instead of forcing them into something.
  • I should have listened; now, I advise you not to make the same mistake.

    Let me save you the headache and tell you what will happen if you sign up for and use this device.

    Firstly, you’ll use it for a month or two at most, enough time to figure out your bedtime habits. Then, you’ll realize the smarter choice would have been an Apple Watch, cheaper and packed with hundreds of functionalities, Whoop doesn’t do 1% of what an Apple Watch can do, plus, the Apple Watch it’s more accurate for sleep tracking than Whoop. After spending one to two months learning about sleep patterns, you might spend years trying to improve your sleep quality by just 5%. However, this won’t impact your life, and making the necessary rituals is not worth it.

    Secondly. It’s more challenging to cancel a gym membership than the payment plan with this company. Despite advertising the device as a simple subscription, it’s essentially a binding contract. You’re locked in for a full year, even if you’re not actively using the device and wish to return it. So charming WHOOP turns into a huge parasite that wants to live of you, even when you’re not using their product. Don’t make the same mistake. Opt for an Apple Watch and a $9 sleep app subscription until you find what works best for you. This way, you’ll save hundreds of dollars that you can allocate to other projects to treat yourself.
  • Great device. App could use few changes

    I’m not an athlete. I’m a middle aged guy who needs to lose weight and get healthier. After exhaustive research of health and fitness devices and guides I decided to ge the whoop. I love the band and the metrics and data it provides, however, I would love to see some of the data presented in a way that is geared towards general fitness and wellness. I’m not an athlete and 99.9% of the app is geared towards sports and athletics. The data is the same it’s how it’s presented. I often feel bad becuase I’m not running 5 miles a day or engaged In powerlifting and that’s what the app pushes. I would like to see an option when you activate and pair the band which way you want the data and metrics presented. I would choose more Health and wellness oriented. Am easy Star would be letting users select and add activities. The band noticed I started an activity and asks me to log it but all the activities are sports related. That’s not the activities I’m doing so I never get to log any activity. The developers have an amazing product and good app they need to not omit a large percentage of people buying and lying for the subscription. Oh and I LOVE the AI coach. Awesome 👏
