After getting a developer response that claimed the disconnect Premium problems were fixed, the VPN STILL doesn’t connect. Under the VPN section, it shows Tracking Protection and VPN. The VPN cycles on and off, just like it did before. All I got is Tracking protection, which appears as “VPN” on the left top corner of my iPhone. This is NOT a VPN! No problems with the actual VPN have been fixed. So I definitely do not recommend wasting your money unless Disconnect gets their product to really work!Show lesssnoids74
New version is buggy
Update Apr 5 18: Bug fixes have eliminated the responsiveness problem noted in my original review. Disconnects are far less frequent and the app is as reliable as the previous version. Nice work dev team!
Ive been using Disconnect on my iPhone 6 for over a year and it’s always been a fairly reliable VPN.
The new version has been disappointing with frequent disconnects requiring me to completely shut it down re establish a connection.
The app is poorly responsive to inputs and often a tap won’t register for 20 seconds or more.
Im hopeful the team is able to get it back up to par.Show lessDizzle McShizzle

Disconnected...... sometimes
Purchased disconnect premium, app function is less than stellar. VPN drops frequently on any given day and the worst part is you don't know until it's too late. VPN still shows active across the top of my screen, but all of a sudden I'm getting ads and pop ups and who knows what else?! Upset that I paid for something so unreliable, and will not be paying more in future unless these developers (nice though they may be) produce something that's actually safe and reliable.Show lessbeth_ee
I really want to like Disconnect. But it doesn't work :(
Disconnect is a fantastic idea and lead by really nice people. But, most unfortunately, the just don't deliver.
Sure, *when* their products work, they're awesome. Over 1k trackers blocked, extra privacy, and of course, everyone needs a VPN on 100% of the time now.
But...they rarely work. Their app and functionality is incredibly buggy and drops VPN connection (or simply fails to connect) CONSTANTLY.
Their problem isn't device specific, or even OS specific: I have problems across all of my devices, as does my significant other and various friends that I recommended the service to.
The bottom line is that all of their clients (or perhaps their service) is not reliable enough to recommend. I really, really hope they do a complete overhaul of whatever is causing the issue so that I can go back to recommending them, because theirs is the only service that stops trackers.
Their support team is very helpful, but unfortunately has never been able to resolve any of the main issues (app instability and connection instability) on any environment/device.

Disappointed/Disgusted
3 days to upload for all devices, when updates were available it took more than 24 hours to update, slows devices, no auto turn when devices were in use, had to always activate. I even tried to write a review 2 days ago and it replyed that the nickname was taken and erased the review. The correct thing is to allow for a new nickname to be entered. Codi was responsive with intial issues but when a refund was requested things turned ugly. Needs lots of work.Show lessRD Frontiers
Great Service, buggy version of app
I love the devise-wide protection Disconnect provides me, and I assure you it works. The problem is this latest version is more buggy and unstable than the previous one. The "Protected/Not Protected" graphics don't update correctly, and it disconnects very often (requiring to go into the app and switching the protection off and on again to work). The list of trackers blocked is nice, but I'd prefer stability over all the bells and whistles. Hopefully this app will be back in top form before long. Also, always wondered if it should read "visualize trackers" instead of "visalize trackers" on the main page of the app.Show lessPablo G-S
I Want To
I want to like this more than I actually do. It's great, but seriously slows downloads and general surfing. Often, it takes so long that I either give up and put my device away or temporarily delete the app. Admittedly, I'm not the techyist of users and I'm still unclear about some features (if I have Premium, do I need to search only from the Disconnect app to be secure?). More accessible (to us non-silicon valley-types) information and trouble shooting would be appreciated.Show lessbaconNYC
Safari tracking protection REMOVED in latest version
Do you have auto-update turned on? SURPRISE! Your Safari browsing is no longer protected with this app, and there is NOTHING to tell you, apart from paying close attention to the release notes (which many people don't read or even notice), that this feature was straight-up removed (and moved to a different app).
Removing the central feature of your app in an attempt to move users onto your paid VPN service, and leaving them UNPROTECTED in the meantime, is totally unacceptable.
I've been relying on Disconnect for browser-tracking protection across all my systems, but if they are willing to make such a shady move, I'm not sure I trust them anymore.Show lessDes Siamese
Premium is excellent
The app just works. I'm using Verizon services.
One review says it blocks other apps. Of course it does -- it DISCONNECTS you from advertisers. Some apps make their entire revenue on ads. Those apps may not work when the ads are blocked.
The trade of privacy for convenience is something each of us must decide on a case by case basis or wholesale. I choose privacy. The app does what it says and does it well.Show lessTAW.Boston
