Connection Issues
I had a really hard time maintaining a steady internet connection. When you wake your phone up to use it, there was a delay while Disconnect connected to the servers so your internet connection would work and then it would stop working. Then you'd finally be connected to their servers and working fine and the connection would suddenly stop working so you'd have to disconnect from their VPN and then reconnect to get the Internet working. Also, I could never get it set to just connect only when I wanted it to. No matter what settings I used in Disconnect it would always try to connect to the VPN. There was no way around it. The App became much more of a problem than it was worth.
On the positive side, it seems to work well on my laptop. Also, their customer service was very prompt to respond by email. They also offered to refund my money.Show lessAnd2112

I love this app because it is easy to use and doesn't take any effort on my end. In this day and age where data is always being collected, I feel confident that by using Disconnect my data will be kept safe. Definitely give it a try!!Jeppy18
One of my 'essential' (as much as I hate that term!) apps :)
Just a tremendous resource to have on hand in our over-connected and largely under-informed world. I would recommend Disconnect to anyone, whether on your phone or your primary computer(s). Honestly a little surprised to see people toss 1-stars its way, but hey, that's just the nature of the App Store I guess. :) Would love to hear their reasoning. Great, but...
The app works excellent on iOS, always on, Internet stays connected, basically set-it-and -forget-it. However, on the desktop, if you have protection on and your Mac sleeps, your Mac loses Internet connectivity upon waking up. The only way to regain Internet connectivity if this happens is to do a restart. That is my only complaint, fix that and it will be a stellar app on all three devices.Show lessNews Monitor
Wait before you buy
I like Disconnect but here are a couple issues with this app
1. From time to time it will disconnect from the VPN and leave you unprotected specially when transitioning from WiFi to LTE or vise versa.
2. Not very many details about their "VPN" features, do they logout data? What kind of encryption are they using? Do they discriminate against certain data formats such as bit torrent?
3. I understand you need to make money, hello businesses can't function without it but $50? At least by minimum offer a free sample, for the level of maturity the app has features wise it is not worth $50 per year.
5. And dear Disconnect don't release an app when you haven't updated your site with further details, it might frustrate a couple customers that trust you, and a support section on your site wouldn't harm either, it's good for business to give good customer support
