Better than Apple
It helps me organize podcasts much better than Apple native app. That was the feature I was looking for. It has a really annoying feature when you open it that always wants to suggest a podcast. Hard to see the skip button because it’s usually on the treadmill or in the car. It would be 5 stars if I could turn that off.

Great app, ads pushy in free version
Pros: Functionally pretty great. Sometimes plays with no audio, but re-opening fixes.
Controls for limiting/filtering downloads are well done.

Decent app - Apple Watch integration needs to work
This is a good podcast app that does the basics well - to move ahead of the likes of the excellent Pocket Casts they need to fix the Apple Watch integration (it’s not possible to rewind or go forwards or even play/pause). It could also do with Alexa integration.
Constantly crashes and slow load time. Almost unusable at this point
Listening to a podcast and want to check a text message? Player FM will crash or freeze. Enjoying a podcast and want to check the weather or Google something? Player FM will crash or freeze. And when it crashes, how long does it take to load and start over? A whopping 30 seconds. In fact, player FM will often stop a podcast or freeze for 15 seconds or more when you aren’t even doing anything else. This is extremely disappointing because years ago this podcast app was amazing and was my absolute favorite. I used to love this app and recommend it to all of my friends. But now the app has so many bugs that it is almost unusable. Extremely frustrating! I wish they would fix this, or just revert to a stable version from four years ago and let us download that on the App Store. Whatever it takes. I really don’t know how it could go from such a fantastic and wonderful app to something that’s broken. I wish I hadn’t had automatic app updates configured on my phone, because years ago the app used to work great! But I can’t find a way to go back to the old version

Ok app with great podcast selection ruined by ads
Has a fantastic range of podcasts, although managing which ones have been listened to is very basic. The free version has a lot of annoying ads.
Broken app, no customer support or response
Sad to have to stop using this app after seven years, many of which were as a paid premium user. In recent weeks PlayerFM has
1) stopped allowing users to add new podcasts, either public or private - doing so just generates looping error messages;
2) stopped adding new podcasts as a whole, even from major producers like the BBC;
3) stopped updating user feeds, no matter how many times you manually refresh, and then two days later you randomly get three days worth of episodes at once; and
4) woken me up several times in the night by randomly beginning playback, when the phone is as asleep as I am.
I have filed multiple support tickets and got no acknowledgements or responses or fixes, and that is as a paid premium subscriber. Nothing. Their socials haven’t been updated in years and there’s no response there either. I’ve cancelled my monthly payment.

your app frequently crashes every two minutes when I tried to listen to a podcast
Terrible customer support
I like the app overall. I switched when Stitcher was discontinued and particularly like the ability to group my podcasts into playlists. I even upgraded to a premium account. But the technical and customer support is abysmal. I opened a ticket for a quirky bug that impacts my ability to enjoy the app. No response. I email again. No response. Again. Then I’m told - oh the app developers are working on it. Then nothing. Silence for a month. I ping them again. No response. Months go by. This is not a big bug fix. It’s a minor thing but its super annoying as an app user. When they finally decide to reply I’m told they are “looking into it”. Poor customer service, lousy response time on easy fixes that impact the customer experience. I’m looking at other apps now.
