Good App, Needs Work
I really want to like this ipad app, but it does has some flaws compared to some other apps offered. #1- when going back into the app on a "cold start" the app simply does not pull up the last view unlike it's little brother app for iphone, i always have to re-select my view, you would think favorite view would just pull up, it does not, #2 please give us a dark view, lose the blue, again this app should be closer to the iphone app, the blue is just too much, #3 full screen view, please allow it to have the tools disappear when not touching the ipad, many of us use our ipads as a monitor, it is just strange the instructions say this is possible but the controls remain, lastly the playback is clunky and live streaming with multiple cams has a nasty delay, I am sure this can be optimized, with a few fixes this could be the best security app for ipads. Having tested over 20 to date, this app can be great.

Alerts stopped suddenly
This app works well with Apple's iPhone, iOS 11+. However, it fails to send alerts to my Apple iPad 2 also using iOS 11+. It stopped working several months ago. When I open a camera on the iPad I can see what it is aimed at; I can change its view, etc. But the app fails to forward alerts. I deleted and reinstalled the app to no avail. I’ve spoken to Amcrest customer service twice. After redoing steps already done I’m told someone will call me back. No one does. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Login timeout; don’t waste your money.
I’ve had these cameras for over 2 years and my networking/technical knowledge is well above average for a non-professional. You will not be happy with this product if your experience is even half as bad as mine—and most other customers have had a far worse experience than I have. You will never be able to rely on the app to function. The updates are infrequent and only serve to undo the workarounds that every customer was forced to build to get the app working after the last update. Just google “Amcrest login time out”. you’ll see how long this problem has existed (through many app updates across every device platform and operating system for years) and amcrest’s utter failure to fix it. Their recommended fixes are obvious troubleshooting measures that don’t work and most everybody has tried before taking the time to post a review (like force close the app then reopen it, or restart your router). One of my favorites was recommending everybody with the app restore their devices to factory settings then unplugging all the cameras and reinstalling the app before plugging them back in, and it was coupled with a warning that any and all passwords and information stored on the device will be lost. Hilarious right? Not quite as funny as the fact I paid for the cameras. Would have been better to set fire to $100 and then buy a different camera system—I’d have cameras that work and a funny story, and woulda saved a few dollars in the process.

iPad app is missing important features from the iPhone version
The iPad app is missing the Touch ID option under App Passcode settings. The iPad app is also missing the option to autoplay the last opened camera by default when the app opens.
The biggest missing feature is the Configuration Center for changing things like motion detection, alarms, and recording schedules. When the iPhone version of this app has these settings I don’t see why it was left out of the iPad app.

Disappointing
iPad fails to connect, doesn’t receive notifications, won’t let me delete a camera until notifications are disabled and you have to be connected in order to do that so I delete and reinstall. I can’t express how angry I am at what passes for tutorials and service/support for these cameras. Don’t know if the app is trash, the cameras, or just Amcrest as a company is.

No full screen and Ui is too white
App is missing a full screen and UI is too white for looking at night. I use instead BlueIris and custom Ui3
Easy setup
I have set up Foscam and Trendnet cameras which required editing the router settings to add port forwarding and set static ip addresses. Tedious at best. I used my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 11.2 to run the Amcrest View Pro app and was surprised how easy it was following the QuickStart guide. Not sure yet how secure it is. There was no support, firmware or manuals on Amcrest website for this newer camera. App not intuitive but works.

Very difficult to use
This application should be completely re-designed with more understandable interface. Otherwise the devices are good, so that is why i give two stars for this app.
Mediocre software
I am not having connection problems because I have installed wifi extenders but when it comes to motion detection they have removed the sensitivity adjustment in the iPad version, how did they think that was not needed, bugs even set off the recordings.
Works great
Takes some getting used to but once you get it, works great. I have cameras around the outside. Set up motion in certain areas so it emails me a picture with date and time. I know everything going on around my house. Even sent a video of the coyote walking thru my backyard and sent to all neighbors to watch their dogs!
