disappointed
Great app but why it needs to track me ALL the time?
Is it possible to have an app estimate paddling stroke frequency from a watch? Calories?
Watch App Doesn't Work
Kayaked about 3 hours and went to stop the logging but got an error saying it couldn't save my trip! Then I couldn't stop it: tapping on Stop did nothing. Could still tap on the Mark button, but not Stop. Had to turn the watch off and back on to get the app to stop tracking.
The phone app seems fine, but the watch app was enormously frustrating.
UPDATE: Tried using just the iPhone app the next day. Not much better experience. The app recorded the trip time and length, but the map didn't record the full trip: kayaked up a river and back, but the map shows that the trip ended about 2/3 of the trip up. Additionally, the Health app says there wasn't enough heartbeat data to record anything (after an hour!). Finally, even the incomplete map wasn't shown in the Activity app. So in summary, nothing worked in back to back sessions. One star.

Hi usna76. It would be great if you could send me an e-mail at info@paddlelogger.com so we could discuss and try and solve your bug issues. Thanks
Great app when it works
Exactly what I was looking for
Great Start
What I’m disappointed in is the Apple Watch functionality. It still works for logging, but the display gives you very little information. The great thing about the Apple Watch is being able to see data on your wrist as you paddle. I want to be able to at least see Distance, Duration, Speed and Heart Rate.
The only thing you can see while paddling with this app is distance and duration. If the developers could add some more data fields (preferably user selectable) and access to control your music from in-app then it would be easy to rate this a 5 star app.

This is fantastic feedback. Thank you very much. We are currently building out this aspect of the functionality to get more data in front of people if they would like to see it. This will form part of a wider update to the Paddle Logger system. Hopefully fulfilling and allowing you to see what you want and hide what you don't! Thanks!
Best app out there for Dragonboaters with Apple watch

Hey bergetto! Thanks for flagging this and alerting me to this issue. We are currently working on this and had a positive day of testing on the water yesterday. If you can ping me an e-mail to info@paddlelogger.com with any further information as to your issue, device used length of trip etc. It would be particularly helpful. Thanks *** EDIT*** Thanks for getting in contact and updating your review! Cheers!
Good app - please add Watch Complication
Couple of suggestions - please add an Apple Watch complication for quick access when paddling ! Easy to struggle with menus when you’re on an unstable surfski!!
Other than that looking great
*** Update ***
Thanks for coming back on my last comment. Here’s an additional problem I’ve noticed. When I pause an activity with the two physical buttons it stops the activity at the time, but later when I look at the log book and Apple Health it doesn’t deduct the paused time from the activity. Instead it just seems to use the start time and finish to calculate the Activity’s total time (which means average speed and to total exercise times are both off!). Wouldn’t be a problem, but I often hit both buttons as I’m coming back to shore and then just leave it paused until after I’m dry and I can use the touch screen again!
Other than that, thanks again for a great app - there’s not a lot out there for paddling fitness and this is a good option!
