Much prefer the old app
This app is worthless! I could set my outside lights from dusk to dawn or a custom program and not ever have to turn anything on, even when I was away from home with the older timer app. I am terribly disappointed that the developer did not at least still OFFER the older version that we all bought and had installed connected to our lights. I will never recommend this to anyone and will search to find something similar to what the old timer and app used to be.

Bring back the old Defiant Timer App
This App does not work with headphone jack connected switches. The Defiant Timer App was removed from the App Store which controlled the switches that allowed data to be sent through a 3.5mm headphone jack cord. The previous app allowed the user to use the app to control the timer of the light. Now it’s rendered useless! This replacement app only allows a Bluetooth connection that the corded switch does not have functionality for. Please bring back the old app, Defiant Timer App.

I bought this light two of them as a matter fact and now the app won’t work on the new iPhone so they don’t keep up with-emerging technology Jensen I will have to replace them.

No override to turn off
We have no problems with the light or the app not working, it’s just frustrating that’s there’s no manual override to turn it off. There’s a manual override to keep it in, but not to turn it off. Ours is over our garage and when we sit on our porch at night to enjoy the quiet we’re constantly tripping it and getting blinded by the light. I wish we’d installed it on a switch.

Garbage app
This is a terrible app. Cannot locate light then cuts out.
App Crashes
Been using app and lights for years. Lights have been great and so has app. Recently app crashes when opened. Needs an update. UPDATE: app is working again. My iOS is always current. One of the recent iOS updates fixed the crash issue. App still has not seen any updates. I feel like my light is on borrowed time now. UPDATE 2: app not working again. I think it was iOS16.1 that broke it.

Useless
Apparently the company don’t care any longer, the app hasn’t been updated in years. Don’t spend your hard earned money on something that the company doesn’t stand behind. That tells you something, look somewhere else, this light and the app is junk . Wish I could return it.
Can not manually turn off
App works great for the 1 day I have had it so far except 1 majorly overlooked option…the ability to turn it off. The manual override can turn them on indefinitely, but clicking manual override off just reverts back to motion settings. Can’t go out in my backyard now and keep the lights off when I want to. Terribly overlooked feature.
