Studiomux
Used to work brilliantly.. Creators update for Windows 10 destroyed the console. Server won’t even launch anymoreThe question is: how to make it work
The app might be brilliant if you can make it work by yourself, because the manual is terrible. There are some videos on YouTube by the author that are not helpful at all. What a bad idea of using written explanations instead of speaking in a video. And there is no demo mode , at least to try to see if you can make it work before you buy. Apple should start to clean the apps that only charge money without any functionality.Show lessImproves my workflow
Let’s me route midi and audio between my iPad and Logic. Works seamlessly.Developer Response
Hi, sorry for the inconvenience. Please contact our support for help (help@midimux.com), and if you like, please try out the beta. If the same crash happens with the beta, we retrieve more detailed information about the issue. Best and have a nice ChristmasSo... I wouldn’t depend on it
It’s a good thing I do more music on the phone rather than using it in conjunction with my PC, because this app never quite seems to be reliable. Now there have been updates and it seems a bit more stable and doesn’t ask for Audiobus 2, etc. but my latest issue when i tried it minutes ago is that the audio on the PC sounds like it’s underwater (sounds fine coming out of iPhone speaker). I reinstalled everything on the iPhone and PC, restarted both, reconnected both, and even tried studiomux in two different DAWs. No joy. Still wavering warbling garbage. I think I’d get a hardware solution if I needed reliability.Show lessAwesome for Desktop/iOS Integration
If you want to integrate your iDevice into your software setup then look no further! This software will enable you to bring the power of desktop and iOS together and both are better as a result! Not a huge deal but
Just a heads up, the app still disappears when init/load set, have to double click home button to find and bring it back topsideThe good and the bad
Using with Studio One... Audio works great, at least from iOS to PC... haven't tried the other way yet. Midi is an absolute nightmare... the documentation is awful. They really don't explain it at all. I've kind of gotten it to work, but every time I get one aspect figured out, another stops working. Get studio one receiving midi notes from an iOS sequencer? Check... except now there's no midi sync for some reason. These guys make really ambitious apps, which would be some of the best on iOS if they worked right. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but since they provide horrible documentation, I'm forced to play it by ear.
Tldr; audio was surprisingly easy to set up and works great. If you want to get midi between iPad and PC, there's probably a much better way to do it than this.Show lessBlocs Wave will not start
Tried several timesSuccess with Reason 9.5
Now that Reason has VST I gave this a try and it worked well after a little practice. Sync tests worked, and Reason can capture this audio in real time if you tap the REC SOURCE button on the mixer channel. Then create a new audio track and use the pull down menu to choose Studiomux as the input.Bloody marvellous *****
This utility is a door into beautiful music and it smartly bridges the gap between IOS and Logic Pro. Clear and reliable interface allows me to work with the great apps on my iPad Air which collectively are not cheap and use them as plug ins on my desk top mac. Seamless and intelligent, it certainly requires you to come to an understanding of how and why it works in order to get the best out of it but once understood, read the manual it's very good, it brings all devices together and opens up the iPad as a neat outboard synth bank and fx processor.
A bright light just went on in the studio tunnel. Share with friends, buy it, support these guys, they are certainly supporting musicians with their excellent, crafted app. ✨Show less
