  • Best Dream Journal

I’ve been recording my dreams for years, and eventually decided to poke around for a dream journal on the app store. Capture immediately became my favorite way to record dreams; not only is it a journal, but by filling out the prompts about people, objects, and emotions, and rating dreams, saying whether or not you’ve had them before, and so on, Capture then provides you with an analysis that helps you interpret your dreams, and statistics to help you recognize patterns in your dreams.

I’ve occasionally had issues editing a dream and saving it (sometimes it just hangs), but typically I can close the app and re-edit the dream and it works. That’s the only issue I have.

  • Hands down best way to keep a dream journal

I’ve been trying to keep a dream journal for about a year now. It takes so much time and effort to keep it organized in a random app that you can write in. With capture tho, it’s a LOT easier to keep one. When you write down your dreams, you can add lots of information about what emotions you were feeling, the people you met in the dream, and characters met in the dream, and lots more. You can then filter your dreams based on those things so you can easily find them again. The app is well made, easy to use, and looks good. It’s just a really good app overall. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into lucid dreaming or just wants to remember their dreams. 10/10

  • Great Dream Journal App!

I just got this app today and recorded my first dream in it. The app does a great job of interpreting dreams and the statistics feature is great. I purchased the premium version immediately, as it was only $3.99 for lifetime access. I hope this app will help me remember dreams more and write them down. It also helps with lucid dreaming through daily reminders. The only thing I don’t like is that the keyboard won’t go down immediately sometimes, such as when I am adding reflections on a dream I had. I will update this review once I experience the app more thoroughly!

  • Awesome dream practice companion

I downloaded a lot of different apps and tried them all and found this to be the best most accessible and functional. So far I have been loving it. (Of course I paid and got full version, totally worth the 4 dollars) The layout is pleasant, the statistics keep track of multiple layers of themes, people, emotions, etc. The analysis tools ask you questions to further reflect on the symbolism. I just recently started to dive into lucid dream theory and practice and I’m very excited to have this as my companion journal.
NOTE TO DEVELOPER: it would be so cool if instead of yes/no on lucid dreaming status, there would be other options like astral projection or maybe more of a spectrum from 1 to 10, because sometimes it’s hard to define a dream as totally lucid or not, sometimes it’s borderline, other times my consciousness separates from me and disappears for awhile and then returns as if it’s been places with out me..I don’t even know what that’s called, but I wish there were more options than regular dream, nightmare, or lucid. Because that, for example, wouldn’t fit any of those categories. So it would be cool if I can create my own categories..

  • Looks amazing but glitches

When I downloaded this app it was amazing, so pretty, simple and helpful. However, once I went off it, it wouldn’t let me back on. It just immediately kicked me out again. I was really dissatisfied by this as it was the best dream diary app I could find, and I really hope the developers read this and fix the bug. If this helps, I have an iPhone 7.

  • Overall great app but can be even better.

The dream journal and the reality checks are awesome features. They are really easy to use and great tools to use for better dream recall. I purchased the premium version for a very low price which I was content about, considering the features that came with it. I was a little disappointed about the wake back to bed method. Why is it necessary to leave your phone on during the whole night? If maybe this feature would change to where you can turn your phone off and it still be counting down in the background it would be perfect. Personally I find it really inconvenient that I have to deal with this, but it’s not far fetched that maybe they can improve on this. Overall great app.

  • Best dream journal ever

My entire life, I have used journals to record my dreams. I’ve downloaded many apps in the past in order to make journaling easier, but have always found myself returning to using pen and paper because the apps didn’t do me any justice.
However, when I discovered this app, everything changed. Everything about this app is perfect: the beautiful layout, the UX design, etc. What really stood out to me was that this app includes dream interpretation based on key words/themes you use. Usually, you have to find a separate app for dream interpretations, but this app has everything you could ever want! I also love that you can add a picture to your dream. The visual element of the picture really helps me remember my dreams. You can search up basically any word, and then choose from a plethora of pictures until you find the one that matches your dream. I find it really helpful.
Lastly, the app has a security passcode feature so you don’t have to worry about anyone snooping through your dream journal.
Anyway, this app is amazing and I love to scroll through the journal and revisit old dreams.
I look forward to using this app for all of my future dream journaling and can’t recommend it enough!

  • Add an explore option!

Hello. I came across this wonderful app an hour ago while searching for a dream journal app. I bought premium and this app is great. I came across the idea of being able to look at other people’s dreams for fun or insight. I realize that dreams are personal so there should be an option to be public or private. This explore option would be an extra tab at the bottom and include other people’s dreams that are fit to share. There should also be a search option to perhaps see if anyone else had a similar dream to the viewer. All the dreams would be filtered by newest. Now, I highly advise not adding an upvote or like system because it would be much too social media-y. I simply suggest adding the basic writing portion of the dream, the title, and the picture. There should be no way to see who the dream belongs to or how many people have seen it. That way, things stay anonymous and not like social media. I’d love to hear the developers’ insights on this idea. Thanks!

  • Mostly love the app

Like others, I tried a few dream journal apps, and this one was my favorite. I like the UI and workflows that lead one to capturing important details about dreams. One huge frustration, however, is that the app does not autosave, and there have been many, many times where I have painstakingly entered information about my dream just to have it disappear because I got interrupted and had to go to another app for something, and/or I in a half-awake, dream-induced stupor just did not think to specifically save it. @&)#% 🤬

Another nit is that the grouping and elements of the emotions are a little odd, but I can live with that.

  • Brilliant, but...

    This app is absolutely amazing,
    But I have a suggestion:
Sometimes I have more than one dream a night, and if I wright multiple dreams down, that changes the number of days between dreams in the statistics section, but it gets complicated if I try and cram everything into one dream entry.
My suggestion is that you add an option to wright down multiple dreams without it effecting the statistics section.
Thank you for reading my review :)
