BE CAREFUL. Bad customer service

They do not send notifications for renewal. They automatically charge around $50. When I contacted them to tell them that i did not intend to renew, and i would like to be refunded, they only offered me %30 refund. They bind you by renewals that you might not want, which is not an appropriate way to deal with customers.

App does not work on iPad

This App just does not work. Are you using your own App? Selecting a season of any show does not let me play any of the episodes.

App doesn’t work. Subscription worthless.

AVOID The app won’t load any videos at all. 100% of the videos show a “Error loading video. Try again.” message. I’m on an M1 iPad, so it’s not an issue of an old device, and all other streaming content works perfectly, so it’s not a matter of my internet connection / network. Maybe you’ll have more luck than me but, given my experience, I can only recommend that you not take your chances.

Waste of money

The app is complete trash and doesn’t work. Save yourself some money and don’t subscribe.

Wish it was better

I’m unable to stream any of the movies for shows to a different device (like Xbox or a tv) a lot of the time the sound will just stop and start (this is extremely rare but it makes it more annoying to watch).
When I was subscribing I definitely was tricked because it wasn’t straight forward about the charges (it said it would be monthly but it charged me for an entire year).
I love documentaries but I wish it was less buggy and gave me more freedom (there is no Roku app for this services or Xbox app, legit can only watch it on my phone

Avoid this scam

Like many pay subscription services they put you on recurring billing hoping you will forget come renewal time so they can charge you whatever they feel like at the time. I cancelled my subscription exactly one year to the day (still have the original email from sign-up) and they STILL charged me for another year. When I requested a refund they acted as if they were doing me a favor and sent to my bank account a pending credit of the difference between my original rate and their new rate... However, when I replied that I shouldn't be charged anything at all they jerked it back and reversed this little "consolation" credit right back out of my bank account. Now they will not respond at all to my inquiry. Save yourself the hassle and avoid Curiosity stream.

took my money

was subscribed to the standard annual plan, should be $20 a year yet billed me $50. i haven't even used this in a year since i forgot about it. usually all subscriptions go to the itunes app so they're easy to manage, this one doesn't so i didnt notice i hadn't cancelled it. am really upset since i'm a student and i can't be loosing that amount of money. if it had just been the $20 that would be on me, but it's ridiculous to up the price like this when i hadn't agreed to that. ending my subscription now so this can't happen again.

Its great when it works, but customer service is terrible

I have the app and LOVE it. I’ve gifted memberships to several friends and family. If they can get it to work, its a great thing. However on several of my gifts there were issues with processing and setting it up. I have been trying for MONTHS to resolve this without resolution. I’ve attempted to call during their customer service hours and can’t get through. When I’ve emailed my concerns I’m told to call customer service. If getting this service its a gamble if it will work or if it will fail. If it works it s great but if it fails youre out the money with no help in sight.

Thank you Curiosity Stream for replying to my concern. I HAVE send emails and the response I get is that it would be best handled by phone. I HAVE attempted to call and cannot get through. Looking forward to improvements in customer service. My original review is still valid. If it works, then its great. But if you have any technical issues, you just loose out and they take your money. One of the gift cards I sent was from March 18, 2023 and they STILL cannot access it.
