New update sucks

I only used Firefox for it’s private browsing experience and now whenever I close the app all my private tabs are cleared! This is extremely annoying as I have to reopen all my tabs again and again when I open the app. FIX THIS and return the old feature that allows the private tabs to persist even if the app is closed..

Used to be good until it removed the option of keeping private tabs after closing

My months worth of private tabs are gone which is annoying, but what’s more annoying is, it stops saving any private tabs when i close the app. That was the only reason i use this app, it’s so stupid that they forced this without even giving an option of keeping it

Restrictive, non-choice respecting browser

Firefox does not allow a user to save their bookmarks to a html file on an iPad, so they may move to another browser or make a backup of their current data. This behaviour restricts our right to freely choose which browser we use and trust with our data. When an application behaves this way it is a clear indication a person should not trust their data with said business, and should leave it for better, more respecting competitor.

N.b. Up to now this app has worked well, but after the last few updates there has been a marked decline in customisability and significant changes in how data is handled and stored. Whilst Firefox is no longer my preferred browser, it is far from the worst out there.

PDF copy & Night Mode don't not work for Opening new Tabs on Apple iOS on iPad Pro

PDF copy Text Function is suddenly suppressed in Firefox including on Public Websites.

Submitting FEEDBACK without logging in through Google or something else also doesn't work. Even clicking Like in support of the same questions is impossible without logging in. What about Privacy touted by Firefox?

Night Mode does not work for Opening new Tabs on Apple iOS on iPad Pro. New Tabs open in Deliberately BRIGHT WHITE SHINY AND DAMAGING TO EYES AND CIRCADIAN RYTHMS WHITE BACKGROUND, despite Search Tab opening correctly in System Default Night Mode selected on iOS as customization. On Firefox Bug Report Button doesn't work. Sending emails to developer requires relogin (and I am already logged in the Browser in April 2023 and am not wasting my time to login for each and every thing over and over again)... Other thing is often and almost banytime I return to the browser after minimizing, instead of currently viewed tab a new blank tab with search opens up, and it's not a good idea, as it wasting time to get back to the tab I was in the process of using previously (even with feature to jump to the old tab, it is still annoying and wasting precious time).

Better than all the rest !

I tried the other two browsers and they don't allow custom search engine. I mean what the hell is going on with these companies? If that isn't an anti-trust lawsuit I don't know what i, they are basically blocking you from using any other search engine apart from one pre-programed into the browsers both Apple with Safari and Microsoft with edge both doing this so I've dumped them both and I'm back to Firefox at the end of the day I believe that Firefox is the best browser even with its problems And that if you want to help get rid of its problems you should probably donate or contribute to Git.

Firefox on ipad.

I was shocked to see screenshots ( that i did not take ) but rather browser page(s) in Pdf format saved in my icloud without any authorization by any means either on iCloud or on firefox and i do not know through what means this took place.

No more dark mode?

EDIT: Dark mode seems to be back again for me, if it stays Firefox will return to being my browser of choice. I chose this app so I could read websites at night and dark mode was what I relied on to be able to do that. The option from the hamburger menu has been removed and the only other option I can see in settings (Theme) doesn’t work in the same way as the original option did. I won’t be able to use Firefox anymore if this isn’t fixed.

Good on Mac, terrible on I-Pad!

Hi Firefox folk,
I’ve been a big fan of yours when Firefox was the one and only way I could get my banking done on my old Mac when Safari wouldn’t work at all.
So, naturally, after getting a new I-Pad, I Ioaded Firefox straight away!
However, my experience here is not good. The Home screen is messy and ugly. When I enjoyed creating my own Toolbar on the Mac, on the I-Pad I don’t seem to be able to.
The worse thing however is my banking statements wont download at all using Firefox. I save them, and the file is there (supposed to be a PDF) but there’s nothing in the file and it wont open.
I just downloaded the latest version of Firefox hoping this would be one of the bug fixes included, but it wasn’t. So, whilst I would love to rate the App higher, the present, consistently ordinary, user experience means only 2 stars until you can get these issues fixed! Sorry.

Great browser, but what just happened to Private Browsing??

I’ve been using Firefox for a few years now and I love it, but on my new iPad, Private Browsing just randomly changed how it works. Instead of having the exact same homepage as regular mode, now it’s just a purple screen talking about how private mode works. That means NO shortcuts. And I ONLY use private mode because I dislike having any browser history, so this is kind of really hurting me, because it just happened today, and I really don’t like it. Another thing this new change did is that it doesn’t autofill website links when I type them into the bar in private mode. Why? Why must they make my life harder all out of nowhere? But if this can get fixed soon, I’ll be more than happy, and I’ll even give a full 5 stars. Another issue is that the app crashes literally every single time I try moving around my active tabs. Both issues I listed were problems I only encountered with the iPad version, by the way. That’s still not fixed yet.
