The developers have improved the game mechanics. They have added Clan play, a ship building option among other improvements which add more facets to the game.
Although “Free” you are encouraged to spend real $ to progress. There are rewards, free crates etc. There was an issue that prevented players being able to log on for days at a time after an update, but that seems to be fixed.

This is a good game, nice graphics and storylines. Definitely getting some good entertainment and enjoyment from it so far.
It does have IAP but is not in your face and can be played ok without spending any $$

It’s a cool game. They give you pirates. But leveling up is takes time. Because the game is gonna be a slow one. I’ve spent $40 and didn’t get much. Each pirate has 5 battles. And then it’s a few hours to fight again. $5 for 500 gold coins. To recharge 3 guys is about 50 coins. 5 battles take less than a minute. So you get the drift. Cash grab. The levels you beat are drastically jump in the levels of pirates you fight. So if you don’t spend money. Just expect to be a long drag out game. Got patience. It will be for you. If you got money. You will be fine.

Pirates Tides. Amazing game!!!!!!
My only issue is arrrrg! everything! It’s a very addictive game. The format of gameplay is different from what I’m use to. None less the fun. If you guys created other games similar to this I’d like to know them.. Honestly the one thing that bugs me is that it takes a long time to lvl your characters. Other than that it’s epic!

Pirate Tales
It is the best game ever because you can do creative stuff and sometimes I get 170 cards things but it only gave me 70🙁🙁🙁. It won’t let me play pirate tales it is saying that it needs to be updated.
