Arbitrary Point Wiping & Dismissive Customer Support.

App Name: MetroPCS "Ad It Up"

Issue: Unfair Point Expiration Policy & Systemic Lack of Account Grace Periods.

Overview:
The "Ad It Up" app operates on an extremely predatory and non-user-friendly point expiration scheme that actively punishes legitimate, long-time users for brief periods of inactivity. On June 10th, 2026, my entire accumulated balance of 12,178 points was wiped out overnight without a single warning, notification, or grace period.

The Core Issues:

Zero Notification System: The app does not issue push notifications, emails, or in-app alerts as your account approaches the arbitrary 90-day inactivity threshold. Instead of engaging users to keep them active, the system quietly confiscates hard-earned rewards.

Excessively Harsh Expiration Threshold: Taking a brief pause—such as a standard summer break—is enough for the app to erase hundreds of hours worth of ad viewing, survey completions, and offer interactions.

Automated & Unhelpful Support: When contacting support to appeal this automatic wipeout, you will receive boilerplate, copy-paste responses. Rather than investigating individual cases or offering standard courtesy restorations for loyal users, support hides behind rigid policy scripts: "After 90 days of inactivity, your points will expire and unfortunately cannot be recovered."

Analytical Takeaway:
An app designed to reward loyalty shouldn't rely on strict forfeiture mechanisms to clear its balance sheet of earned user rewards. The total refusal by support to offer a one-time account reinstatement for legitimate users demonstrates a clear lack of care for the user base.

Verdict:
Do NOT waste your time accumulating large point balances on this unproductive app. The threshold for forfeiture is aggressive, the app provides zero proactive warnings, and customer support will dismiss your concerns with automated scripts. Save your time and stay away.
