Barely functional

I’m glad this app exists but only to hold on to a digital copy of my license. It has numerous problems including several critical bugs and design flaws: 1) it crashes repeatedly, 2) the button for recording harvest doesn’t work, and 3) it requires you to add birthdate, phone number, and other PI even if it already recognizes your account. I could build a better app than this one!

BEST GAME IVE EVER PLAYED

I’m thinking about devoting my life to this game because it’s so fun and competitive I’ll always keep this game in my heart forever and I’m thinking about divorcing my wife to get better at this game I LOVE YOU ADFG!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😻

Great App, just needs more improvements!

Hi,

I seriously recommend more push notifications and reminders through the app informing fishers and hunters of harvest and season end dates. Additionally, posting those with each license/permit as an easy reminder.

I have enjoyed the ease of use this app offers and the collections of tags/permits that can be loaded digitally.

Helpful trash

Everything about how this app functions is flawed. Long load times, constant error messages, not syncing with your account to update any tags, harvests not properly recorded, can’t download any of the maps, can’t pull up any of the regs unless your on good WiFi. This app has potential and if it works as advertised it would be great to have. However it doesn’t, but…. I still have it for electronic proof of licensing and tags.

All in all.. download it, but don’t count on it working.

Still has a way to go

The support link doesn’t work, I continue to get a sync error, and there is no way to change my address. 🤔😒🤷

Waste of Time

To be fair, the app may actually work ok. However, I’d never know because it proves to be impossible to login with an existing account, or to make a new account. The app is also unstable and entertained me by throwing error codes or just hanging in login screens. The fact that the app is rated 2.6 out of 5 might be a good indicator that the State should start over and hire some competent developers.

Hi, We would love to hear more about your struggles to sign in. You can reach us at: dfg.das.licensehelp@alaska.gov or (907) 465-2376. Your feedback is important to helping us build a better app!

Unusable

The app is unusable because it’s impossible to sign in. The identity provider sign in fails to respond. A complete waste of taxpayer dollars.

Very little functionality

The app does not provide any added benefit to us citizens because of the limitations it has.

Great… Needs work

The ADFG app should allow opt-in push notifications for emergency orders.

Clunky and glitchy

Had to delete app and redownload to get my new 2025 licenses to appear. Before it showing me an error (for 3 months). They now appear but took an unnecessary step.

Unusable trash

Does not let me log

Great idea - poor execution

I love that I can access the regs and get current updates. I love that they try to provide all the information in an app.
But it crashes every time I try to submit a harvest report. I now have an empty report for a day I didn’t fish sitting in it that I can’t do anything with because it crashes every time I try to edit it.
Same with any of the maps. I get an error or the app crashes. Fix the multitude of bugs and crashes and it will be a great app.

Didn’t work

It wants to log in with a secondary app and this can’t be bypassed. The secondary app doesn’t work. Just went in circles with this a few times and decided printing my license was easier.

Not commercial fishing friendly

I was hoping that it would be useful to hobby fishermen and career fishermen alike, but was disappointed when I used it. I would like to see commercial announcements, and regs, my permit card (in case it gets dropped), etc.
Probably better if they made a separate app for commercial, unless they could have the information clearly separated on the same app. Seemed like it was quite handy for the sport guys though.

Wish I could use this app…

…but unfortunately when I created my ADFG account years ago on a desktop computer, I set it to sign in with Google, and I can’t sign into the phone app with Google. Sure would be nice to be able to access my license through the app in case I accidentally leave my wallet it my vehicle. Rating the app a 3 because my husband loves it (5) but it’s useless for me (1).

Sorry for the inconveniences you're having. If you call the Help Desk they can get you set up with a myADFG sign in instead of a social account. 907-465-2376 or email adfg.license@alaska.gov

Doesn’t Work

Seems intuitive and like a good idea, but it doesn’t work. It won’t import my fishing & hunting license at all. Giving it 2 stars because there’s still some useful information you can access, but other than that, it doesn’t work on an iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 17.5.

Can’t sign in with google on this app

I can’t sign in because I use google to login to myADF&G on my computer. The app doesn’t give this option on an iPhone.
Update;
ADF&G reached out and fixed the problem for me. It is a common problem that they deal with all the time.

Would not allow me to create a account

Put in all the information they asked for and clicked the submit button just for the app to take me back to the page where I put my information into app is completely useless to me at this moment

I legitimately love this app

I know I rated it 4 stars, and I’ll get into why, but I legitimately love this app. I love that the troopers count the app as proof of a license when fishing and dipnetting so you no longer need paper copies or duplicates or have to worry about them getting wet. As long as your phone has charge and turns on, you’re good to go. Same for the hunting license. My only complaint, really more of a hopeful suggestion, is that hunting draw tag information isn’t imported so you still need to carry paper tags for any hunts that aren’t general season tags. I’d love for that to be an added feature in the future. Aside from that, the ease of reporting fishing, dipnetting, and general season hunt results - even when offline - is so nice! Solid work by ADF&G.

Not worth your time.

I’ve tried multiple times to get this app to workover the last year plus and it’s a waste of time. First they ask you to login in using your my alaska or fish and game login. I use my Alaska and it tells me I need to create a fish and game login then it tells me I already have an account with fish and game and to use the recovery tool to login. Apparently it’s linked to my Facebook account and it’s clearly not. I would never link this to Facebook and when I try to log in through Facebook it tells me no account is registered under my name or Facebook. The only way I can get a fishing license online is if I sign in as a guest on the website. Seems like an absolute miss for someone who was born and raised in Alaska. As an Alaskan we should only need one login to access what we need to do through the states websites.
