Slept on this for way too long
Had this on my phone for years before I found myself in a life situation that let me play. Vertical, one handed, on a cramped subway, in bursts over the course of two weeks. Game was built perfectly for that, controls very well, with some unexpected moments that has a great blend of nostalgic vibes with modern inspired design, lots of secrets, and many “wtf” moments, and simple, but effective/funny/emotional dialogue. Bravo, excited for whatever is next for this dev, and convincing my friends to pick this one up.

Phenomenal.
I can’t even explain why I’m writing a review I’m at such a loss of words. I haven’t never been this blown away by a game let alone a mobile one. The story, art, music, combat. Everything seemingly basic coming together to create an absolutely masterpiece! No rules, no one telling you to complete the story but yet there is nothing you want more. The emotional depth the symbolism, the creator of this game truly weaved pieces of their existence into this. The attention to detail, i urge to play this game 1000 times over just to try everything a little different just to experience every possibility. I don’t even remember how much I paid for it, the money will go these emotions and lessons will stay with me forever.

A little triumph!
I think saying too much about *why* this game is incredible (which it is!) defeats the purpose of what the creator intended for the player to experience upon first play-through. Buy this game, set aside some time to really enjoy it and have fun! Afterplace is one of my favorite games I’ve played in 30+ years of gaming. Thank you!

Whoops i wiped my save lol
Anyways, great game! The story is fun and is equal parts whimsy and dark. The gameplay could use some work though, specifically so that you can actually die at the final boss
