Recent update made my app not work properly

The most recent update changed the way my app recorded burned calories and I believe it is an error compared to previous.
I tried to log an error but I kept getting directed to an AI assistant that would just say it understood how frustrating it was and that the developers were always looking for feedback, but there was no way to confirm this error had been logged with anyone or a way to communicate with a human.
I give the AI assistant 0 out of 10

Incroyable

App drops my favorites daily

Like it overall but every day some food I started as a favorite disappears the next time or day I go back in to select it again. Frustrating it doesn’t keep my favorites until I instant them. Why even have favorites if it doesn’t work.

Good but missing a few things

I started with the free week and ended up upgrading to a yearly plan. The abstracts my fasting period really well and seems to be up-to-date for Canadian barcodes/brands when I go to log foods.

The one thing I would add would be an opportunity to indicate food preferences, or allergies - I am severely allergic to tree nuts and anytime I look at the tips or insights it is recommending that I add a few nuts to my meals.

Obviously, I know better, but it is annoying!

Yazio

I absolutely love the app so far! It really has helped me get into a routine that feels good but not very restrictive. I always had a problem of using these kinds of apps but crashing my “streak” on the first week, but I’m almost a month strong now. I would suggest possibly adding more types of diets though, like low-fodmap for people with digestive issues. Finding recipes and meal suggestions are hard when using these apps, but that’s something I can obviously try to do myself, it just would be a nice addition. 😊

Great core app, but too many pop-ups and limited AI

I generally like YAZIO, but the constant pop-ups and repetitive coaching messages are becoming really annoying. I don’t need to be told for the 25th day in a row that adding protein powder to my breakfast is a good source of protein. I understood it the first few times.

For a while I managed to get these messages to stop, but now they suddenly seem to be back. The app too often interrupts what should be a simple process of logging food with tips, prompts, and pop-ups that I’ve already seen many times.

I’d also really like better AI integration. Not having a direct integration with tools like ChatGPT or Claude is frustrating, because YAZIO’s built-in AI doesn’t seem to have enough tools to reliably break a meal down into its individual components and let me correct them precisely. In practice, it often feels less like a true nutrition assistant and more like a slicker version of Quick Add.

I’d love an option to permanently disable nutrition tips, coaching pop-ups, and other nonessential interruptions, plus a more flexible AI workflow that makes it easy to review and edit individual ingredients. YAZIO is useful, but these issues make the experience feel much more cluttered and limited than it needs to be.

One more frustration: my partner and I both use YAZIO, and we often eat the same meal or nearly the same meal, but there’s no simple way to share a logged meal or its macros between accounts. We end up entering essentially the same food twice. Being able to send or share a meal with another YAZIO user would save a lot of time and would be especially useful for couples or families tracking together.

Fix the startup

The app is good, but I am so frustrated when I have to open and reopen the app multiple times until it lands normally. Please fix the startup issues, or I will have to switch

Week 117

I’m now on week 117 of using this app as part of my fitness plan. It’s been excellent and I wouldn’t change from it. It’s does everything I need it to do, counts calories and macros as well as having AI. A really great app and well worth trying it.

Fasting just got terrible

I used Yazio successfully to help me with Fasting diets. I lost four stone. The fasting feature was a prominent part of the main toolbar and overall user experience, with the tracking always within easy reach. Then during a recent release the developer removed this prominent feature and buried it as a subsection within another page. I’ve noticed I’ve been laxer with my fasting subsequently and I attribute this in part to this change as it removed the convenience of tracking and it obscured the ready behavioural nudges for me to remain motivated to fast. There is no option to restore this feature back to its prominence in the user settings.

The app wasn’t perfect beforehand (its recipe feature has always been fiddly and the content largely US-centric), but I was willing to tolerate these niggles because of the way the app implemented other features I value. I’m now wondering whether it’s worth continuing with this app or instead trialling other apps. It feels like a huge step backwards.

Way too many sub pop ups

I updated the app for the first time in a while, and now there are WAY too many subscription pop-ups!!! It’s making the app so frustrating to use. Seriously, it feels like a subscription prompt pops up every time I tap a button.

Been using the app for 1 year now

I enjoy the calorie counting portion and how easy it is to track. It also tracks steps which is useful. I hate it’s sudden and newly push of ai, it’s really frustrating. I do enjoy how the comments you get after tracking your meals have seemed to become more positive then before. I wish the app helped you track your fiber intake since most people don’t get the amount they need.

i’m sad

The application did not allow its use because the weight of my goal slightly reduces the healthy body mass index 😡😡 I'm disappointed that I can't use the application (especially the difference is only a couple of kilos

Better than I thought

Okay, full disclosure, when I first started using this, I disliked it so much that I stupidly canceled it and will have to renew the subscription 🙄. That's what I get for being impatient. Being post-menopausal, losing weight just almost seems impossible, and this is good for showing me my blind spots and what I may have been doing wrong. I still wish they would just show calories instead of kilajoules, because it's a hassle looking it up. I also wish that you could program it for dairy free (lactose-free is not dairy free, so that doesn't help with allergies--hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, though, I can see why people like this app and since Google Health has destroyed FitBit's user-friendly interface, this is a nice, inexpensive option.

***It's a good idea to double check some of the calculations, which are sometimes much higher than other sources or doesn't take certain aspects into consideration (eg homemade almond milk has far fewer calories than commercial).

Thank you for your feedback. Yazio uses kilojoules as a standard unit, but you can find calorie information in many food entries. For specific dietary needs like dairy-free, please contact our User Success Team at request.yazio.com for personalized support. Wishing you success! 🌟
