Garbage app now. Was great.

App will no longer support older phones. I’m still on I OS 16. My phone won’t accept the later. I can’t use the app. Was great when it did work.

Too bad to book with Airbnb

One of the worst experience I have in 9 years being with Airbnb. Airbnb doesn’t listen to guests when it’s time to complain from host. I had to pay $437.44 for being honest guest. Host request for $$$ for clean their hot tub which we didn’t use at all. But their aircover member is useless. Honestly we cannot recommend anyone anymore.

Disappointed

I recently had a very disappointing experience with this booking. I do acknowledge that we also bear some responsibility and should have considered the cancellation policy more carefully before booking. However, I was shocked by the complete lack of flexibility or consideration when an unexpected situation arose.

Our booking in Vancouver was with a host named Melanie. We requested a modification approximately 7 days in advance, but she refused, explaining that she was concerned the property would not be booked again.

What was particularly upsetting was the timing of her response. Throughout our other communication, Melanie had been very prompt with her replies. However, when we contacted her regarding this important cancellation/modification request, the response was delayed until after the relevant cancellation window had passed. Given how timely all her other responses had been, it genuinely felt to us as though this particular response was intentionally delayed until the window expired. By that point, we had also lost the opportunity to request the partial refund that would have been available earlier.

The amount involved is approximately $1,800, which is a significant financial loss. Despite repeatedly explaining the circumstances and asking for some reasonable consideration, we continued to receive essentially the same generic response. There was no willingness to consider a date modification, partial refund, or any other compromise.

The platform itself was unfortunately not much more helpful. We asked whether any consideration could be provided, even in the form of platform credit rather than a cash refund, but no meaningful solution was offered.

I fully understand that cancellation policies exist for a reason and that hosts are entitled to protect their bookings. We also accept our share of responsibility. But there is a difference between enforcing a cancellation policy and showing absolutely no flexibility when a guest contacts you well in advance because of an unexpected situation.

Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this particular property: only book if your plans are absolutely set in stone. Do not expect any flexibility from the host if an emergency arises or your circumstances unexpectedly change, even if you contact her a week in advance.

Losing approximately $1,800 is substantial, and the way this situation was handled has significantly reduced my confidence in using the platform for future bookings.

Airbnb supports genocide

Airbnb supports genocide. They ban people who raises their voice against genocide in Gaza. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use this platform!

Auto cancellation

I completed a booking which was automatically cancelled by the company without any communication. When I reached out to customer service they didn’t offer any help and basically said it’s not their problem. Now I am out a place to stay. Will definitely not be using Airbnb again. Wouldn’t recommend this company.

Attention, future and current servers provide providers

Avoid using Airbnb‘s platform to offer your services to Airbnb host and future guests .1 Airbnb with the adopted 15% from your payout as their service/administration fee .2 they will eventually screw you over and refuse to pay you out or state that you were paid out for service you never completed and when you will and trust me, you will try to dispute it. It’s gonna take them less than one hour to investigate so in other words, they will not do a proper investigation and eventually you’re gonna have to take the loss. so please make sure to stay clear. Set yourself up in other platforms increase your marketing whatever you need to do but stay away from Beahan in their platform when offering your service services contact the host directly. to eliminate any issues.

Nightmare rental, wish I can give this zero stars

My daughter, a medical student on rotations in the Portland area, and I (her mother) rented a bedroom from Suzy for 4 weeks, beginning on July 18, 2026. The description of this rental at the time was described as a “private room with a shared bathroom on the main floor of the house”. We of course be sharing the kitchen and living area with the host (Suzy), an elderly, female art teacher, the person who owns and lives in this 2-bedroom bungalow.
At first it looked like a decent place to stay and the host seemed friendly enough. I say decent, and not great, because the bathroom did not have a privacy or sliding lock and was dirty. Also, the fridge that we were to share with the host was filled full with her food leaving only a small shelf open for us. We are not that picky, so my daughter and I were willing to just deal with this.
Then after four days staying at this rental, things really took a turn for the worse. The host informed us that she would be leaving for vacation and would be renting out her personal bedroom to other guests; a changing condition. She informed us of this change on July 22th, a couple of days after the initial AirBnB three day complaint period expired. We were initially willing to forego having a locked bedroom due to the home being shared with an elderly female teacher. This also meant that the living conditions at this rental would change during our stay; which is against AirBnB policy. As two females, we were concerned for our safety with possibility of new guests of any gender being in the house without the host present and with no locks on the bedroom door or the shared bathroom door (we have photos). The AirBnB advertisement never mentions that another bedroom was for rent and that we could be living with a stranger for three weeks. This is false advertising!
We informed the host and AirBnB of our safety concerns and they then told us she is allowed to rent out her room to whomever and whenever she wants. On Friday, July 24th, as we were about to leave and drive the 60 miles to our home for the weekend, Suzy asked us to return her house key.
We called AirBnB on Saturday, July 25th, complaining about this unsafe situation and no house key to access rental room and we asked for a refund of the remaining three weeks. On July 26th, AirBnB emailed us stating that a specialized team will make sure we receive a refund, but this never came about. So, after many hours on the phone asking where is our refund with many of AirBnB’s difficult to understand English-challenged ambassadors and, at times, what appeared to be AI generated responses, we were very confused. We are totally disappointed with AirBnB’s poor service and failure to understand our security concerns.

lots of options but…

no actual scammer protection and they will side with the host over the customer any chance they can because they are losing money. not recommended.

Nobody’s Home

Getting worse and worse. As a super host as well as a traveler, ABNB and team have completely missed the mark as far as taking care of the people that provide homes for them to market to travelers. Multiple times now when dealing with service issues it has been extremely difficult or impossible to find a fair remedy when a business conflict arises. They outsource their help center to countries that don’t speak the language well making communication painfully difficult and unproductive. The follow through lacks. The greed is transparent. Most recently we bought the insurance incase we had to cancel plans. Sure enough we got COVID and had to cancel travel plans but the reimbursement is outsourced to a third party and they don’t have anything other than an AI bot that directs you to endless loops that don’t solve issues. I am working no. Removing all my properties from their site and won’t use their service any longer. I would encourage my family members and friends to discontinue business with them as well to avoid losses and wasted time. Luckily there are better establishments that provide the same business type service globally.

WONT LET U BOOK

to start off I’m BLACK, normally I never say race it the issue but it was. I wanted to book an Airbnb because I’ve been stressed lately so I found the perfect one, u have to leave a message in order to book so I told the host of the Airbnb this “hello, I would love to stay here for a few nights to relax, I’m very clean and quiet so your place will be safe with me!” I then clicked “complete booking.” The app then cancelled my booking and wouldn’t let me get the Airbnb saying that it seems I was going to throw a big gathering and an unauthorized party… normally I don’t have a profile picture so I made another Airbnb account didn’t add a profile wrote the same thing to the host ..and booking went through…weird right? Mind u I’m very classy and professional in my profile picture so . Everyone black isn’t going to “THROW A PARTY.” I cancelled the booking on the second account after this.

What a nightmare

6pm the night before we leave for our trip, our host decided to cancel our reservation. Leaving us in the lurch. We’d paid in full up front.
Airbnb was dismal to deal with offering us a 32$CAN travel voucher for the inconvenience and wasn’t exactly helpful trying to rebook while they did offer to help. The options were incredibly inefficient. we were meeting up with family from across the country… we ended up cancelling the trip completely. Airbnb held our refund for 72hours. Additionally it’s been past that time frame now and we’ve still yet to see the refund posted back to our credit card. They’ve informed us it could take up to 2weeks…

This used to be my preferred way to travel after this experience I’ll definitely think twice before ever booking again and you should as well.

I feel scammed

I booked after calling to tell them I was dropping off a camper van and taking my bike to the property. When I booked the address was very different and would require me to bike across an interstate highway. They refunded me only after hours of back and forth and kept 16 dollars of my money. Why? Loose a customer over 16 bucks. Bye Airbnb.

Superhost inexplicably locked out of my account

I, an Airbnb superhost, was just logged out of my account for 72+ hours. While guests were staying at my rentals. Giving us no ability to communicate with each other whatsoever, including safety issues. Airbnb’s explanation in the end after days of endless calling, messaging, emails? They detected suspicious activity. No further information. Awesome! So glad our guests were held hostage with no help, with zero assistance from Airbnb. Awesome service.

Will never used Airbnb again

Had terrible experience from a host demanding too much for a price that I paid for. There are so many hotels that has now kitchenettes and better service that a host that doesn’t exist and so hard to reach.

The unspoken part

Very little tenant protections for the little guy. It’s great if your host isn’t a prick but if they are, support will let the host decide if you get your money back or not despite whatever set back had you wanting a refund in the first place. Simultaneously they don’t do a great job as a buffer from host to guest and sort of just let you get treated poorly by the host if there is a critical failure somewhere. I’ve had wonderful experiences, but after my last two I just cannot recommend it. There is no reason an app should prioritize the people with extra houses and spare income and not with the person trying to take a break from their 9-5. 4/10 or 2/5
