Stranded

Airbnb, cancel my reservation for no reason. They claim it’s because of my failure to upload my drivers license. But I have written proof from Airbnb staff so that I was good to go. They referred me to booking a hotel. Give me my money and I will. Everyone, please be smart. trust these one star review.. all customer service ever did for me was continuously escalating this to higher up. any higher and I’ll be talking to the creator of the company. I have been up over 24 hours trying to resolve this matter and figure out a Plan B. I have five people that’s about to be stranded on the streets of NYC. Airbnb cost us all thousands of dollars in assume absolutely zero responsibility. I even have a recorded call to prove that they were in the wrong plus several screenshots of the communication prior. Everybody just please be smart. Be safe. Just book a hotel instead or else you’ll end up sleeping on the streets or in your car.

Horrible customer service!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible. The worst customer service I have ever seen. Unable to get in contact with anyone who could help for over an hour. Unable to get into Airbnb and host is not responding, support is not answering phone and hanging up while on hold

Just wait until you have a problem…

ZERO help from airbnb with any issues. Deleting this app after my current trip and probably taking this company to court. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Terrible customer service

I have been waiting on customer service to respond to the chat for 2 hours

Bad service

Bad service

Not responsive

The app doesn’t work properly if you have scaled the text slightly up. Buttons are off the bottom of the screen, like ‘show more’ when looking at previous trips.
Needs a tweak.

Terriable Two side Market Application

I cancelled a reservation due to the wildfire in that city. Airbnb don’t want to help me refund because the listing company owned multiple houses on their platform.

Fabulous stay

We stayed at El Mirador in Los Cristianos last week. It’s a lovely, modern apartment with everything you need. Inside and outside very comfortable. There are a number of steps to go up and down, which we probably noticed more because of the intense heat! It was very hot so the air conditioning was welcome. This costs 1€ for 1.5 hours. Thanks to Pat for our return airport journey. Very friendly and cheaper than a taxi at 25€ each way. Would definitely return and recommend. Sarah, the host, was very good communicating with my before our trip.

Airbnb is not what it used to be

Airbnb quality is down the drain and their support team is useless

No action and unhelpful response

We saved to go on a family holiday in Greece with friends after a hard year. The place we booked ‘Megapool’ villa which turned out to be a dirty neglected place with a crook of a host . Wont go into details but when we got Airbnb involved they did not take any action even though we sent pictures and documented our horrible villa some with health and safety issues!!. we are now pursuing legal action

“Customer Service” That Fails When It Matters

I cannot recommend this platform based on my experience.

My reservation was suddenly cancelled, leaving me without accommodation for an important family wedding. What was even more disappointing than the cancellation itself was the complete lack of meaningful customer support afterwards.

Rather than taking responsibility or offering a comparable replacement at the same price, I received nothing but generic, copy-and-paste responses that simply repeated the same information without addressing any of my concerns. Sending me a list of properties to search through myself is not customer service, I am perfectly capable of doing that on my own. I expected the company to actively resolve a problem that was entirely of its own making.

To make matters worse, I was informed that my refund could take up to 15 days, despite the payment being taken immediately. It’s unacceptable that customers are left without both their accommodation and their money for over two weeks because of a cancellation they did not cause.

Having worked in hospitality for many years, I understand that unexpected situations can happen. However, the true measure of a company is how it responds when things go wrong. In this case, there was no ownership, no empathy, and no genuine effort to make things right.

This experience has also left me genuinely concerned about booking through this platform again. If a confirmed reservation can be cancelled without notice and without a suitable alternative being offered, how can customers have any confidence that their booking will still exist when they arrive especially for important occasions?

Overall, this has been one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before relying on it for important trips.

Unsafe situation no refund

After 13 years of using Airbnb, this is the first time I’ve ever had a truly disappointing experience.

I’m currently traveling in Washington State, where widespread wildfires have blanketed much of the state in smoke. Last night, the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 192, according to sources including AirNow.gov—classified as “Very Unhealthy.” That’s approximately 22.9 times higher than the World Health Organization’s recommended PM2.5 guideline.

For the past two days, I’ve been trying to work with Airbnb to find a solution. I was surprised to learn that unless there is an active fire in the exact city where you’re staying, they won’t reimburse or assist, even when the air quality is hazardous enough that public health agencies recommend limiting outdoor exposure.

This is not just “air pollution.” Wildfire smoke contains extremely fine particles (PM2.5) and can also carry toxic substances released as homes, buildings, vehicles, and other materials burn. Depending on what is burning, the smoke may contain chemicals, heavy metals, asbestos from older structures, and other hazardous compounds. These microscopic particles can travel deep into the lungs and even enter the bloodstream.

Exposure can cause immediate health effects such as eye irritation, coughing, shortness of breath, and can worsen heart and lung conditions. Repeated or prolonged exposure to wildfire smoke has also been associated with an increased risk of serious long-term health problems, including cardiovascular disease and some cancers.

Policies should also take into account environmental conditions that make a destination unsafe—not just the location of the fire itself. Smoke doesn’t stop at city limits.

I hope Airbnb reviews its policy for situations like this. Travelers shouldn’t have to choose between losing their money and protecting their health.

Discrimination

I have been using Airbnb for a while now and never really had issues booking till recently.

I have a verified account with past bookings highest totalling £900 for a weekend.

Recently I cannot book any house or apartment due to the app suspecting “unauthorised parties” which I believe discriminates immediately
Try getting help and call support they just about speak English and understand what’s happening I am absolutely frustrated with the app lately I had two little ones with me last weekend trying to book somewhere to stay and no one was helping just kept getting promised a phone call

Just Use a Hotel Instead

I’m sick of abusive hosts harassing and threatening me to be out by 10am. My schedule doesn’t revolve around your cleaning company. This scammer charged me $434 for one night and was claiming the cleaning company was there waiting right at 10am (they weren’t) and was saying he’s going to charge me $100 and then $50 every 30 minutes and going to call the police department. Psycho behavior

The company is going downhill

A few years ago, I booked an Airbnb room that was nothing like the listing described. The host owned a dog that would aggressively guard the front door whenever she wasn't home, treating me like an intruder every time I tried to enter. To make matters worse, she worked at a bar and wouldn't get back until 3:00 AM. When I called Airbnb to request a refund, they completely refused to help. I haven't touched the platform since.

Host beware

Airbnb didn’t help. Scam host

I made a reservation, and the host confirmed it. Two days later, the host messaged me saying that I had to pay an additional $180 cleaning fee. This was only mentioned after everything had already been confirmed.

I canceled the reservation, but I was charged the full amount and did not receive a refund. I canceled two weeks before the check-in date.

I contacted Airbnb support, and they told me that they could not refund my money because the cancellation policy applied. However, I canceled only after the host violated the original booking conditions. The host decided to add an extra $180 charge after the reservation had already been confirmed.

In the end, Airbnb did not help me, and the host is not responding to my messages. Airbnb told me that it was not their problem that the host increased the price by $180 after I had already made the reservation. I’ve got screenshots, messages- but it doesn’t matter for them. It was my last reservation. Never again

I don’t have iso 18

Hello, I don’t have iso 18 and cannot update so now I cannot use the app in my phone and can only use my computer. Please update for use red with lower iso.

Could be better!

Needs to do better with their filtering options. We should at least be able to filter out shared spaces, avoid seeing the same listings each time we search available rentals or at least have them indicate that we’ve already seen them before opening and be able to sign up for notifications of new listings.

Be careful booking!

Sometimes when you book with them, they still are able to cancel the booking, but you still get charged. They may say they may refund it immediately put on your cards. It takes days for it to come back making you unable to read books since there are holds on your cards!
