This App Is Why I Believe In Therapy Now
Where do I even begin. Amazon Chime is what happens when you ask an algorithm to design a communication tool but forget to tell it that humans have feelings.
The notification sound? Haunts my dreams. I’ve been out of that job for six months and I STILL flinch when I hear anything remotely similar. My dog is also in therapy now. Thanks, Chime.
The interface looks like someone described Zoom to a robot who had never experienced joy. “Make it functional but remove all hope.” Mission accomplished.
And don’t get me started on the “seamless integration” with other Amazon services. You know what else seamlessly integrates? A headache with my entire existence every time I opened this app for another meeting that could’ve been an email.
The only positive? When I finally uninstalled it on my last day, I felt a surge of serotonin I hadn’t experienced since childhood.
Pros: It technically works
Cons: Everything else, including what it represents
Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Actually, maybe my worst enemy. Gary from ops, this one’s for you.

Bad experience while video call
I had an interview call with AWS. I was unable to turn on my video properly. Whenever I turned on the camera, I could see myself, but the interviewer could not see me. The interviewer continued the interview using audio only. It was a bad experience.
Not even usable
Can’t even log in. Just loads indefinitely. Unusable.

Pictures
Only issue I have is I can’t send pictures mobile which is a pretty important function when on the road needing to send a picture for dispatch.
Never works
Literally cannot support business calls on my mobile phone. The chat never opens, doesn’t let me mute the mic. Crashes a lot. Literally why reinvent the wheel when Teams works 1000x better.
Amazon Crime
This isn’t a new way for Amazon to make more money so, like everything else, it’ll continue to be ignored unless/until it starts costing them so much it can’t be ignored. That’s part of their business model.

Absolutely useless
iPhone 16 pro, was not able to unmute, start video, or send a chat message. Amazon should stop pretending this is a viable app and retire it entirely. It’s quite difficult to have a productive call when I can only hear what people are saying, especially when I’m specifically called on by name and can’t respond.

Unable to tap on chats and can’t even see the video while others are sharing.it’s annoying a lot
iPhone optimization
The iPhone experience is not good. If I have suggested text on it won’t allow me to see anything I text below the first line and iPhone users cannot @ anyone that we are trying to talk too. Please fix these bugs.
Horrific app
Wont connect to meeting. I never ever had this many issues with Teams or Zoom. Never ever. Absolutely worthless garbage app.
Buggy bloatware
Terrible app. Never works. No options to turn off notifications at set times. Don’t receive notifications either way on android or iOS. The fact it’s required to work at Amazon is a joke. Take away all the permissions as well it’s just for communication. Network connection only
Screen size
The screen size for app needs to be fixed, when you write something the box is under the keyboard so you can’t see what you are typing. The rooms are also on the bottom and are cut out a little.

Latest update crops menu icons at bottom of screen on iPhone 16 Max. Please test app before publishing update.
Basic Functionality Lacking
Joining as a guest to meetings doesn't remember the meeting ID, mute doesn't unmute or change status correctly, tapping on chat section does nothing, video for chat usually doesn't load, changing to a different Bluetooth device doesn't reflect in app.
This happened on most recent versions of iOS, on brand new iPhone 16, fresh install of app.
I can see screen shares, and I can mute/unmute by switching to the active call/phone view, but not within the app itself.

One of the worst apps ever used
I work at Amazon, and didn’t come across any other app that freezes. I hope someday Amazon stops using this app, or I quit Amazon
