The best

This is the best media app out now. It would be even cooler if you could set it up like a Facebook live or Instagram live and people could see you and interact with you while doing your show live. Hope the ability to live stream comes to this app. This would knock it out the park because you wouldn't have to pay for a streaming app to use it if it could integrate with a streaming app would be cool. As for now, keep up the cool work and I'm loving this app.

Great idea but….

They want people to work for free. While this is my passion , it was never my passion to have a fake carrot dangled to entice more content when they had no intention on paying out , though they claim I’ve missed a few, but still haven’t gotten the opportunity to provide payment information or related tax info, and I’ve been over there since oct 2022, and amassed a decent following and engagement, and yet still nothing. The platform itself is borderline toxic , however it has community engagement geared towards music, so if you’re an independent label, this could be a great way to release your music to an audience that is truly there for the sake of music . There is a ton of opportunity that outweighs my desire to leave but don’t count on support from the app, especially if you don’t plan to talk about celebrity gossip or play top 40 songs we have already heard so many times.

Love the Idea not the Product

Amp is Great!! The idea you guys bought to life to bring people together in a different way is amazing. The idea is great but the app on the other hand can be a lot better. Connection as well as the interface are your biggest issues right now. Connection keeps lagging or drops a lot when your out and about. The interface keeps freezing & shutting down makes it frustrating listening to a show straight through. The profiles need to be beefed up to put more information about ourselves or maybe a timeline to keep our audience entertained while we are offline. Airplay capabilities down the line would be awesome so we can jam on our tv’s as well. There’s a lot that can be done down the line & hope we get really cool updates down the line. I’m here for it and can’t wait to see what you guys bring to the table. Go AMP TEAM!!

Has potential to be a great platform for creators and music lovers!

As a creator, I love being able to connect and share my playlists with others that like the same kind of music. Although I do have fun with my shows on Amp, the platform definitely still has room for improvement.

1. The music library is limited. I’m into K-pop, my show is centered around K-pop, and the limited K-pop selection makes it harder to create fully realized playlists. Smaller artists and groups, and sometimes old songs from popular groups, are often missing. I suppose this could be a licensing issue, but it’s worth mentioning as it kinda hinders my experience with the platform.

2. The chat could be better. Direct messaging is non-existent so it’s hard to create a community outside of a show. The in-show chat sometimes doesn’t work at all and there’s no way to mention individual listeners. Also, I think it’d be cool to be able to see the chat in replays and possibly comment on replays.

3. The functionality of the playlist during shows is a little… weird. I don’t love that it automatically unmutes my mic after every song and I have to manually play the next one. I also don’t understand what the waiting music is? but that might just be a me thing.

I’ll still be hosting shows on Amp and I’m looking forward to seeing how the platform improves and grows in the future!

Lacking a lot of songs and variety

I joined hoping to find someone with good taste in music I like (which is mainly K-pop, but I also looked for other stuff I like such as post rock or metal core) and couldn’t find any. Then I tried to make my own play list and realized why.

I couldn’t find pretty much any song I wanted to add, not extremely popular, new or lesser know artists. I did find plenty of instrumentals of these songs, or some versions where groups did a cover in another language. But not the original songs.

I’m guessing they probably couldn’t get licensing for them. But to me it defeats the purpose of this app if I can’t share or find people with music I like. Pretty disappointing but maybe in the future they’ll add more songs. I’m gonna check back a few more times to see if I find ppl with music I like, but it seems like it’s just not for me as of right now.
