Stupid Verification App
Super hard to verify IC using this app. Instruction not clear, keep on saying align your card. Need to take at an angle as well, which I feel stupid. Need to do it few times only can pass
Poor & Disappointed
Very disappointing experience with the Apply@HLB app. I submitted my application three times and was told I’d get a response in 3 business days, but weeks have passed with no updates. Even after calling, I was promised a callback that never came. If the app cannot process applications properly, what’s the point of having it? Please fix this or remove it — customers shouldn’t have to waste time and end up walking into the branch anyway.

Bad scanner
The worst ID scanner I have ever experienced. Ended up not registering for a new account with this bank and opted for another bank with better app that has more user friendly ID scanner
Unable to proceed
First time apply the credit card but error prompt me to reset details via online banking app? It’s blocker for me to apply your company’s product
Do not even try applying online using this app it’s a SCAM!!
I was unable to go to the bank physically and after reading reviews here thinking it’s over a year and they might have improved their process in 2025. After applying online, got the email and immediately deposited $$ to activate account. Then tried registering HLB Connect, it was unsuccessful stating I need a temporary ID from the branch. Why the hell collect my deposit only to make me go to branch to get this temporary ID?? I would have gone there if I could in the first place!! Why such inconvenience? NOW I WILL GO TO BRANCH ONLY TO CLOSE THIS F** ACCOUNT.

Need improve
Couldn’t open nor read terms and conditions. In some segment, Can’t press “next” button during application process, not sure why.
Disappointing
I would like to express that this application is very disappointing and takes an extremely long time to recognize clear and high-quality ID images. If AI technology is to be used for detection, please ensure it has been thoroughly tested and proven effective beforehand, so as not to inconvenience users. I hope your team will improve the quality of this application for better user satisfaction

The most stupid app
If your scanner cannot works better shutdown this stupid app wasting time BS did you did a proper testing on your stupid app??? BS better remove this stupid app from the app store if its not working. Report to apple not worth it to download app which is not working!
Camera
Im new user and trying to register via this app. My problem is with the camera cannot micro focus. I try a certain distance it get a good picture but not within the box, every-time i tried to make the IC fit the box the camera become blurry. Im using ip16pm btw. What an app by HLB

Lousy System
Absolutely ridiculous. I used this app to open a new account for my company. After doing so, I got a confirmation that they will email me within three working days. Until now (it’s been two weeks) I haven’t received any email or calls from the bank. When I call HL customer service, they asked me to go to any nearby branch to settle the issue.
When I went to the nearest branch, to my surprise they told me that they weren’t able to do anything about it and asked me to wait, for how long am I supposed to wait???

Rubbish app
Try scan with clear but keep say pic not clear. When snap with far abit said need scan the id in the frame but when near the id to the frame auto becomes blur. Rubbish app, we need to work on normal days so hope can apply saving account with online but HL provide this rubbish app to us.

After I click “Confirm” to submit my information (for opening a sole proprietor bank account), it doesn’t show any “Success” message. When I click it again, it displays an error message.
According to the FAQ, I should receive an email confirming that my application is in progress once it has been submitted. However, I did not receive any message. Does this mean that my submission was not successful?

Bug: The OTP phone is limit to +600…..
I’ve registered with my phone number in foreign country as I always travel and received OTP successfully overseas. Yet here the OTP started with by default : +600…
That means any foreign countries codes added after the +600.. number become invalid. Yes, I can never receive my OTP so I couldn’t register at all! Please fix this bug!!

Can’t fill in with punctuation
Going to register account for sole proprietor business, but not able to fill in BRN with ‘-‘
Remove the app please
Don’t bother to apply account online with them. What happened to me is I applied an account for my daughter with Hong leong apply app. Few days after the application was sent, I received an email from Hong leong instructing me to deposit rm20 to activate. Deposited as told. However, they then told me my daughter account is deactivated and need her to activate at branch. I now can’t close the account nor get back my money unless I sent my daughter to Hong leong branch. What a hustle and bustles.

Terrible apps!
I have tried to open my business account using hlb apps! But got error to confirm all of my details. And keep sending me email asking to do action in their apps! While i open the apps, i need to start from scratch to fill in all of the data again and again! I have tried more than 5 times in different days btw! Teruk lah your apps!

IC VERIFICATION
All good with the app, just that people will be annoyed when it comes to the verification part. There’s trick that you should know, make sure to scan the IC at open daylight area and if it’s at night, make sure it’s not to close to the light and if it’s close,do make sure there’s no glare/reflection. Then you can easily scan and verify and your account will be created within 24hours.

Keep getting error
I can’t even get to the opening account part. Getting error saying that service is not available. Want to open to enjoy the promo. I expect better from HLB.
Useless application
The camera can’t even auto focus with my Iphone 15 pro max, always showing the picture not clear no matter how i adjust the camera
