About

Arandouria is a turn-based dungeon crawler in the spirit of Moria and NetHack — true permadeath, deep procedural dungeons, and the constant tension of unidentified items. DESCEND INTO THE UNKNOWN Every dungeon is procedurally generated. Every potion, scroll, and weapon starts unidentified — do you drink the unknown potion, or play it safe? Fog of War means you see only what your torch reveals, and every step into the dark could be your last. PERMADEATH MEANS SOMETHING There's no save-scumming here. When you die, you die — your run ends, and a new hero begins from the meta-progression you've earned. Every decision matters: fight or flee, identify or gamble, push deeper or retreat to safety. FOUR CLASSES, FOUR PLAYSTYLES - Warrior: stand your ground in melee combat - Ranger: pick enemies apart with arrows from a distance - Mage: master magic missiles, mana grows with every level - Rogue: sneak past danger and strike from the shadows FAIR PROGRESSION Levels 1-5 are built to be survivable by careful play — only real mistakes get you killed early on. As you descend, the challenge ramps up honestly: smarter monsters, deadlier traps, tougher bosses every five floors. HONEST FREE-TO-PLAY Arandouria is free to play, and every run from floor 1 to floor 30 is fully playable without spending a cent. Optional purchases unlock additional character classes, deeper dungeon levels (up to floor 50), and revive tokens if you want a second chance — none of it is required to enjoy or finish the game. RETRO AT HEART Classic ASCII/glyph rendering pays homage to 90s roguelikes, with hand-drawn pixel art available as an alternative visual style. Choose whichever fits your taste. Will you find the stairs down, or will the dungeon claim you? There's only one way to find out.

What's New in Arandouria

1.5.2

August 31, 2026

• Twelve new monsters, from Giant Centipedes to Troll Shamans that heal their kin and Shadows that phase straight through walls. • Every boss floor now has its own boss: Spider Queen, Lich King, Spider Empress and Arch-Lich replace the Dragon rematches. • Monster attacks can now poison, slow or confuse you — and the fauna changes as you descend. • Fixed: the Ring of Speed and the Potion of Speed now actually make you faster; both were previously broken. • Fixed: in pixel-art mode, twelve monsters shared a red placeholder blob — every monster now has its own sprite.
