Security cameras for outdoor

I really like this camera it keep me aware of someone on my property. It has a light to make you aware of activity

Mostly positive experience, but some technical issues

We’ve used an Arlo Camera system for several years now and have been very happy with it. For the most part, the system was easy to set up and manage, and the app worked great.

Unfortunately, it looks like the v 6.40.0 update has caused problems on the app again. I haven’t been able to log in for the last couple of days. Instead, it gets stuck before even reaching the login. I tried removing and reinstalling the app and shutting down my device to no avail. Currently using an iPhone 17 Pro.

Sporadic real time alerts

It sometimes takes days to see video footage. Not helpful in real time / real world safety needs.

Removed ability to video recorded events with subscription

I have 6 Ultra 2 cameras and 2 Ultra base stations. In the recent updates your app has removed my ability to view recorded events with paying a subscription. Regardless of the fact this was an advertised feature when I purchased my cameras. Don’t trust Arlo!!!

Don’t subscribe.. it’s a scam and waste of money.

I paid for the $99 basic subscription to get the person recognition etc. the app acknowledges I have the plan, but when I go to use the plan features it says “you need to get a plan”.
I bought it in June, I was told it may take a day to start working. It’s now august, I spent 2hrs and 15mins with tech support today, they disconnected me several times, told me I have to call Apple to sort out their app cause I paid through Apple Pay, then when I mentioned about getting a refund on the time I’ve paid for, but couldn’t use the app, the guy immediately then tried to push me off to finance support.
I doubt this will ever get fixed, and they don’t seem to care, they got their money.. I’m almost sure it’s just a scam and the app never actually works as it says it’s supposed to
I’d give a 0 stars if it was possible

Feed

Videos are hard to open due to thumbnail on latest app update, to open the files you have to try and click a tiny piece of the top of the screen.

The best , I’ve had Arlo for 10 years and it is great!!!

I’ve had Arlo for 10 years. It’s great.

Constant bugs in app

App has to be constantly force closed and reopened. Why does Arlo tolerate such poor performance from their IT department? Gross incompetence

Cloud and Local Feed Tabs are now nearly inaccessible

When I view my cameras it’s usually live or my local feed, i haven’t needed a cloud feed for years.

Like others have pointed out, viewing my local feed has become more problematic.

With the latest updates the Cloud and Local Feed Tabs have been moved to above the Dynamic Island making them surprisingly difficult to tap/select vs their lower position below the Dynamic Island before.

Actually easier to view my local recordings by going to Devices and then choosing my hub, which is far less convenient.

Concern

I’m not getting notifications on the last twelve hours!

New update sucks

After new update no longer connected to app or cameras, system is pretty much useless now.

Functionality now limited

In the past couple of days the “Local” and “Cloud “ tabs have been impossible to access on my iPhone. The app and iPhone are up to date. It’s just now at the very top of the screen- where I could access either option- that’s not possible anymore!! And I have a subscription.

Apart from that everything else works well including the geofencing which is a useful feature.

Good cameras- terrible app

The app constantly glitches every couple of months and it’s a new glitch every time. Current glitch is that I get notifications but my feed hasn’t updated in over a week. Previous glitch was getting notifications but not being able to log into the app. So I’m basically paying a monthly subscription for nothing. Customer service is unhelpful.

Great in the beginning

This app worked great in the beginning. Now I have to go out and back in several times because it shows offline. I know my internet is good because it does it when I am using my internet when I check it sometimes. Some times it never shows back online. I just give up. I am disappointed.
It seems like this always happens when I heard something outside so I try to watch through my cameras then they go off line.

The ads are awful

Arlo changed up their model to force to pay to get any recording and then deleted the old videos. They need to make money, poorly done but ok.

Then they redid the app the make it so if you don’t pay, see an ad for their service and need to scroll down. Awful UX.

Notifications

Too difficult to mute notifications and not enough options to do so.

Local recording button

In the last few weeks, the cloud/local buttons have moved so up on the page that you cannot tap it. It’s under the Dynamic Island and control panel area. Cannot access my local recordings at all!

Disappointing! AVOID!

Have no improvement at all for years. Have to spend money to swap to another brand at last. AVOID!

Plan EVERYTIME I try to get a plan for my camera it will go to the Arlo page nothing pulls up

Need a plan

Requires Subscription+ doesn’t work

As title follows, it is built to not be compatible with most modern homes routers. Say your network runs at 5g, if your router doesn’t have 2 separate connections one for 5g specifically then you’re not able to use the camera as it will continuously disconnect and have trouble reconnecting. Spend the extra money on any other brand, this one is junk.
