Overpriced

I downloaded and subscribed to this app, and the price you pay for what you actually receive on the app is unfortunately not worth it, at least not at the moment. I know it’s a new thing, so I’ve unsubscribed and I’ll wait a little while before trying it out again.

Amazing!

Such an easy app to use and the developers have put a lot of work into this and constantly trying to improve. Would highly recommend for fat loss. Delicious meals

Response from developer

Thank you for the kind words! Really glad the meals and the overall experience are hitting the mark. Keep showing up and enjoying the journey! 💪

Love BARE

I have been using the BARE app since it launched and am happy with it so far. The team takes on all feedback and change the backlog based on what feedback they get. Can’t wait for the update that will allow us to account for coffee. I’ve lost 6kgs already following the plan, I love it!

Response from developer

Hey there! Thank you for your loyalty since day one and 6kg down is a fantastic result! Keep showing up and enjoy every step of the journey - we will certainly continue to make updates with you in mind! 💪

Needs more work

I wanted to love this app so bad. It’s just not at a point however to be priced as high as it is. It’s not super smooth to use, I don’t love how the snacks swaps to buy are region specific (I’m in USA so we have hardly any of those), calories change for meals every day even if they are the same, makes it hard to meal prep, have to check in order to see next weeks, also makes it hard to meal prep and grocery shop. When you see the grocery list and you select meals it doubles the list instead of adjusting quantity automatically, kinda makes it confusing. Wish I could get a refund, kinda bummed. There should have been a trial period before having to commit.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. - Snack swaps are region-specific right now, but a wider range is coming in a future update. - Calorie consistency across meals is being fixed and should be resolved within the next week or two - The weekly plan is generated based on your check-in results, which is why the following week isn't visible until then - Standardised measurements for shopping lists are being worked on as a priority, which will resolve the issue you have mentioned, and will be released in an update coming soon. - On refunds, we do offer a 7-day refund if you find the app isn't right for you. If you haven't already reached out to our support team about this, please do and we'll be happy to help. We hear you on the trial period and that's feedback we're taking on board!

In the building phase

This app is still new and clunky, not yet worthy of a recommendation. It’s a very regimented meal plan with no room to log any deviations. E.g If you drink a coffee every day there’s no feature to add this to every day, and some days the snack calories don’t equal a coffee so you can’t even switch to one.

The recipes repeat which is convenient for meal prepping, but if you edit something you need to manually edit every day of the week.
Some recipes are inaccurate. And the shopping list feature is clunky due to no use of standardised measurements therefore ending up in ingredients being listed multiple times on the list - it’s easier to write a list yourself.

There is a good range of recipes that are tasty and they are bulked up with vegetables so it doesn’t feel like a diet where you’re starving yourself. Keen to see the improvements that can be made over time.

Response from developer

Thank you for the detailed feedback Rebecca, we really appreciate it! - The ability to add a daily coffee (and similar beverages) will be available in an upcoming update - The feedback on needing to manually edit each day when a recipe changes has been noted and passed to the team - If you've spotted any specific recipes with inaccurate nutritional information, please contact our support team directly so those can be corrected right away! - Shopping list improvements are underway, with standardised measurements being added as a priority. You should see these issues resolved soon. We're glad the recipes are hitting the mark taste-wise and appreciate you sticking with us while improvements are made.

Not worth the price

This app subscription is extremely overpriced for what you get and they do not work with you when you’ve paid and gotten nothing for your money. And the prices are not much cheaper on the website. First of all, you cannot customize your own calorie amount or macro split. There is nowhere where you can enter your own preferences in, even if you adjust your activity level it says it’ll change the calorie plan for the next week but it doesn’t. They also claim sustainable nutrition, however, 1200-1300 cal is not sustainable at all for any adult. I told them I need higher calories due to medical needs and nothing has been done about it. You cannot access all the recipes at once. You seriously only get two very set meal plans every week. They claim you can change out foods you don’t like, but they don’t give you many options to switch to if you’re in the lowest calorie bracket. They don’t offer refunds or a trial so you pretty much lose out on anything you paid. Overall, it’s not very customizable at all which is a HUGE issue for the price of $17.92-$21.94 A WEEK! There are plenty of other apps that give you way more for less. I know one that just offered me $75 for the entire year (usually $150 which is still a better deal than what I paid quarterly for this app) and it allows you to customize your calories, you have access to hundreds of recipes and tons of meal plans that you can pick from, plus workouts! This one is NOT worth it and I feel completely jived and taken advantage of knowing I can’t get a refund and cannot use the app at all and all they offer is a cancellation of my subscription knowing I still have four months of the app. Leah itsines is completely taking advantage of people.

Terrible

Terrible customer support. Very over priced for what you get. Very limited options for food with no way to update calories. Doesn’t allow you to add in beverage so daily tracking of calories isn’t accurate for weight loss goals.

Easy to use

Easy to navigate, swapping meals is very simple. Plan is made up of “normal” easy to find ingredients. Support are very quick to reply if help is needed
