No longer available in Sydney (since 2021)
Despite the latest update to the app being 10 months ago, the description for the app still states that it is available in Sydney.
I was trying to remember why I had deleted the app, so I reinstalled it and it was immediately obvious why - you’re instantly greeted with a message stating that Beam Wallet is no longer available in Sydney since 2021, but they’ll be back in 2022 to provide an update. This comment is still the latest update showing as at August 2024.
I see other comments saying they’ve had trouble having their accounts deactivated - I’m off to start that process, so hopefully I can actually deactivate.
TLDR: don’t bother installing if you’re in Sydney. It’s not available.

Disappointed
I was quite happy when I first found this app as a replacement for an old one that has been discontinued. But it seems like each time I to try to use it, it stops my schedule before even one activity has been completed. When I go back into the app, it’s like I didn’t even start the schedule to begin with, making it useless to me (and I know I started it because I marked several things as “complete”.)

Scam app
Took out $1.13 out of my account when i made an account. It is a scam app and hasn't contacted me back after i contacted them. Do not get this app. You can see people who experiences similar things below.
SCAM app - took money from account
I downloaded this app and it immediately charged money from my card without a purchase - fraud app!!!
Charged for no reason
You charged me 1.33 euro for no reason and my bank charged me for foreign operation 0.02 Euro, that is not acceptable.

Cashback not received on purchase
Despite receiving notification that cashback would cease on 31st December I have not received cashback on purchases made in November. If I had known this I would have used other means of payments.
Beam is not giving credit anymore
Beam is no longer giving cash back for purchases through their app and user's needs to spend their accrued balance by end of December 2019. I enjoyed using this app and was always recommending it to people but now they are having you download share. I will try share and hope that it offers the same advantages as beam.

In Sydney? Don’t bother
Hardly any retailers support it, and yet it’s still virtually impossible to search who does. (May as well have an html list.) Worse still, this update quits out when searching by category. No idea what these guys are trying to achieve.

I have been using this app on and off since the beginning.
The rewards are good but the implementation of the payment system at petrol stations is appalling. The app times out during the filling process and you have to start again, but the app insists on showing an animation of the filling process instead of letting the user pay right away. Now imagine 6 cars lined up behind you, everyone can see you babe finished filling up but the lousy app is still playing it’s animation! I have complained many times but nothing has been done. It’s not my phone as I have been using this app long enough to switch 2 phones with the same results!
Recently, my credit card expired. Now I can’t add my credit card to the app. It claims my card as an issue. Trust me, after many calls to my credit card issuer, there is nothing wrong with my card. In fact, I have switched to Apple Pay, which accepted my card with no issues.

Nightmare to pay anywhere. Going bad
The app has gone too slow and at time fails at many places. I think you use outdated tech. Something like apple pay is so smooth. You seriously have to think on efficiency and speed.
Considering legal action
Customer support is unresponsive, and has limited live chat support. I’ve asked for the account to be deleted, several times with no response.
Update:
Customer support had deleted my previous ticketed request to have the account deleted, and had not honored the request. This company conducts itself in suspicious patterns in collecting personal data. I would not trust such an inconsistent, and obscure company like this, with its own intentions set above the common respect of consumers. I am considering legal action at this point.

Scam
They took money out of my account without my consent. I only had it for about 20 mins before I deactivated it and then they took money out of my account. It was only a few dollars but it’s still wrong and they have yet to get back in contact with me and refund me.
False advertising
Haven’t received my ‘free money’ as everyone else claims they have. No promo codes work for me and can’t even discover stores.

Not effective anymore
Beam used to be my favorite pay method.
Now it is not as effective as it used to. It is actually frustrating now, where you have to sit in a gas station and wait for the payment to process and then it fails. Hope you will fix this problem.
