Worst fingerprint set up ever
The site is hopeless for fingerprint ID you are constantly asked to login user name password etc after only using fingerprint ID a couple of times no one is interested. The company is great in so many ways just this is so poor. A J perfect!!
Very poor app
Really poor experience. Would accept another platform with higher fees to avoid having to use this app. Login is painful and I regularly have to reset the password as it won’t retain biometric access
Login fault
The app provides decent enough functionality, but its biggest fail is the login which frequently stops working and refuses to allow apple to autofill the fields or allow FaceID - which I have set up hundreds of times. But fine I can work around this, but this makes dealing impossible on my phone as when selecting new investments it takes me to a website and then can’t return to the app as it logs me out. Has this app not been tested??? Or does the company simply not care that their app is inherently flawed???

Fix your app
I will be moving ISA elsewhere if you don’t. Just in case you care. Always “forgets” login, have to reset the pass and guess what, I can’t paste into “confirm password” from my password manager. Terrible app.
Basic
Evelyn needs to put more of their assets into a better offering. Compared to some it’s very basic and light on information and function. Face recognition is problematic. After setting it up (which it confirms when done) once you log out and want to go back in later, face recognition doesn’t work and the standard log has to be gone through again. Happens every time. The whole offering just seems like it came out years ago.

App needs improvement
The app UI ins’t too bad and is really pretty functional. Main issues are constantly having to enter in details because Face ID is never remembered. You can’t actually invest on the app the button just takes you to safari and it isn’t supported on mobile you need to do this on a computer. These are the two key issues I’ve found

Clearly has a number of faults
I have been trying to open various accounts for weeks but the app just takes me on a cycle between logging in and to the account opening page. I will be picking another investment company as this gives me no faith it will be easy to manage my money.
AWFUL APP
9+ months using - Would advise using another platform. I am constantly asked to reset login details on a monthly basis. To make any investments I’m redirected to a webpage where you need to login again. I often get stuck in a loop of login requests at this stage.

Slowly Getting worse
The app matches the deteriorating service. Very annoying that it looses Face ID regularly and you need to keep setting it up again and again. Making company / director contributions to sipp is a poorly thought out inefficient form with uneccessary duplicate information requests. Looking at alternatives

A truly awful app
I have been with Best for 25years + and the service has deteriorated steadily over that time such that I am slowly moving funds out to other providers. Once upon a time their records were presented in a sensible way but now we have this app which can show basic data but when it comes to Transactions section it is a mess. Unexplained entries showing the briefest of description mean that often when multiple foreign dividends arrive I cannot reconcile the cash balance with these entries. So sad that I find the need to use others services.
1/5/25 Does not get any better. Have tried numerous times to set up fingerprint security but despite positive confirmation each time. I just ignores this facility. What a company!

Decent but flawed
Management of funds and adding money is pretty ok but really annoying having to go to the browser app to explore funds or automatically being taken to browser when I hit the invest tab. More annoying the current version doesn’t show the projected graph under the life plan tab anymore? Unsure if problem with my phone (iPhone 14) or application problem). Overall probs the best investing app I’ve used despite it’s shortcomings

Dreadful
I’ve had an account with BestInvest for a few months and had nothing but trouble with this app. I can’t trade on it at the moment even though I’ve contacted BestInvest numerous times over the last month, to which some I’ve had no reply. Sometimes it even says have £0 in my portfolio. Why? I’m seriously contemplating transferring my investments to someone else.

Touch ID
Touch ID is a waste of time. The app never retains the set up details and every single time you log out Touch ID doesn’t work next time you try to login. This has been brought to the attention of BestInvest several times, without any response or solution. Poor.
Terrible app
I have a problem most of the time when making transactions. Freezes or crashes and then have to put it through again. I fed this back to them in the survey but still have the same problem

The app regularly crashes. Often when you have to re-enter your login details to reactivate Face ID- really really annoying
App does not open
I have regular problems with the App, whereby I am unable to log in… keeps going back to the log in page after Face ID or tapping in passcodes etc.
However, I raised the issue with them yesterday and a ticket has been promulgated to their tech team, so hopefully they will trace the glitch.

Good app
Best invest are a decent company to invest with and this app is very useful for researching funds and investing then keeping track of the portfolio. There is one niggly issue with logging in to the app, it offers the set up via Face ID on Apple iPhone which I do but then when revisiting the app later Face ID does not work you have to set it up again. I have managed to set it up again it works a couple of times then it has to be set up again. There does not appear to be any support number for app tech issues.
I’m running IPhone 15 latest iOS.
I had a response from the developer who say they are aware of the issue for some users and are working on a fix. An update from myself - If log out of the app I have the issue logging in next time, if I leave the app without logging off on my return face recognition works.

FaceID has stopped working?
Just set this app up yesterday and was pleased to see that it supported faceId but I’ve only used it once and I now cannot click use faceID button as it doesn’t do anything?
Amateurish Design, unreliable service, poor functionality, high prices
The app design is low contrast and there is no way to change the colour scheme, contrast or the font size to make it more legible. For anyone older or with any visual impairment at all it is simply awful.
The app regularly fails to load data and the only way to fix it is to delete and reinstall and the FaceID rarely works for more than 2 days.
With regard to the product. Best Invest don’t have a stop loss function which is simply unforgivable and say they can’t implement one due to the custodian they use. Stop loss functionality is available from most of their competitors so I wouldn’t recommend their product on this basis alone.
A tiny range of US stocks are available and none from any European exchange. If you want to hold US stocks then you have to phone up and then some weeks later someone will complete it and you find out by not getting the error message.
There is little or no research available for equities or ETFs so you find yourself searching Hargreaves Lansdown and what there is is inconsistent.
Bestinvest seems to be targeting the Freetrade or first time investor demographic, but its prices are way too high. If you’re a hands on investor then get a different product. If I was opening an account again I’d do it with Interactive Investor.
