Not too good

Photo recognition cannot distinguish between a squirrel and a bird 😒

Great Idea, Broken App

This is a great idea for an app. It’s basically Pokémon Go, but for real life animals. They gameified bird watching and I’m totally here for it. Also, the community is pretty chill and super helpful.

The problem is that the app is buggy af and the AI identification almost never works. For some reason it flips the photos 90 degrees on their side, which makes it almost impossible for the app to identify what it’s looking at. It also does this weird thing where it kills the resolution of your photos, making them blurry and ugly.

Tons of potential, but it doesn’t do the one thing it’s supposed to do. It’s like a pizza delivery app with a cool community and good features, but you can’t order pizza.

No Support

Worst app ever. All AI. Canceled, and they still took $60. Zero support, no way to get to a human. Wish I could leave 0 stars, they don’t even deserve 1.

Bird

I like birds, and i like bird watching, and this helps me log and post about what i find

would give 0 if i could

tried the one week trial, knew the app wasn’t something i’d use. it’s no more helpful then ebird or merlin or free apps out there. i tried cancelling the app via the instructions and it said no active subscription in my apple account to cancel so must not exist but was automatically charged 35$ for the year fee. they don’t explain you need to go through paddle (the app that collects payment for them) to cancel this- nowhere in their website or instructions is this explained. so confusing and a total rip off

Birds woo

-

Great concept, virtually non functional

Really hope this app improves, but the identification capabilities are pretty tragic, even with good photos

Camera button needs to show up faster birds fly away🕊️🕊️😭

Cool concept but camera does not always identify the bird

Great app

So much fun!!! Would love a feature where you can hear the sound the birds make to help identify the bird.

Incorrect Species

I’ve noticed recently that some species (Such as Carrion Crow and Hooded Crow) are the same species in the app whereas on all other bird ID sites and apps they are listed as separate species. This is a problem cause it messes with peoples Birda Life List and Life List on other apps, making them different and could cause confusion

1st Sighting Crimson Rosella’s

Love this app, great resource and easy to use.

Earth birds

Good job

Takes your info before telling you how much it costs

Also it's an annual charge so be prepared to pay for a whole year at once before getting to try it.

What am I missing?

I tried to log my first bird, a mountain chickadee, and it identified it as a crow at first. Also I find it confusing that you give what % likely it is. It only gave me 12% likely for a second photo I took but other apps just accurately identified the bird.

pictures become blurry

i love the app and the concept, bird watching is one of my top hobbies. unfortunately when i use the AI identification camera it lowers the quality of the pictures i take to such a degree the AI can’t identify a bird from a previously crystal clear picture. hoping this gets fixed cause i can see myself using this app regularly and trying to “collect” all the birds around my area :)

Phenomenal

Phenomenal bird app

Great app

Amazing app for community birding, sharing photos, and logging birds into the app. Awesome app overall, and I have a few suggestions for it. First, when I upload my eBird data to Birda, It doesn’t give me any badges for all the birds I’ve found. If you can also link that to the images I uploaded to eBird that would be great too.

Not Free Don’t Be Fooled

I downloaded the app for free, but unfortunately I deleted it with 20 seconds because it charges to use the app. No thanks, there’s plenty of these out there that are actually free lmao

Fun

I love birds

Not my thing

Beware! It’s essentially a knockoff of a seriously scientific app that is available at no cost. This app will take and take your money and so far despite several attempts, I’m finding it impossible to cancel.
