Horrible experience
We bought a discounted package at £400 with the guarantee of customers or money back if nothing happened in the first few months.
I managed to get half my money back because the sales person didn’t explain to me that it was a one year money back guarantee! I had to agree to not taking it further to get that.
Not one job lead was ever in my service area. The staff were hard to get hold of to resolve anything. They even closed a case I had opened saying it was satisfied and they had spoken to me, which they had not spoke to me at all.
Constant chasing for answers!
Can’t believe I wasted so much money on a great sales pitch! Don’t waste your time. Absolutely useless!!

Don’t waste the money
This app is waste of money, they ask payment upfront and make big. Promises about sending reagular leads even saying to can get ten job leads a week that simply did not happen
I have been signed up for six months and received only one job , one job in six month is nowhere near what they advertise
I feel mislead by their claims, if you are tradesperson looking for real work , think twice before paying , based on my experience it is not worth it

Great for my business
Been using this app for a few months now and have had a steady supply of leads. Won an 8 week commercial job which has kept me happy and more than covered the platform fee. Will be renewing.
MyJobQuote is better (don’t use this app)
Poor platform for traders – MyJobQuote is better
I used Book a Builder as a tradesperson and was very disappointed. Most leads were low quality, customers often didn’t respond, and jobs were sent to too many traders at once. This wastes time and money.
After switching to MyJobQuote, I get more relevant leads and deal with customers who are actually ready to hire. Much better experience for traders overall.

Avoid , especially Steven mason
We originally signed up for a standard account with Book a Builder in 2023. At first, everything seemed fine. Shortly after, we received a call from a man named Steve Mason, who strongly encouraged us to upgrade to a Pro account, promising that it would bring in larger-scale projects — the kind we were actively carrying out at the time.
After upgrading, we only received one decent-sized project. The rest were small repair or handyman-type jobs (fixing kitchen units, taps, etc.), which didn’t match the description or promises made when we upgraded.
Midway through the year, Steve contacted us again, offering a special advertising opportunity at a reduced cost, claiming that a previous contractor had dropped out and that we’d be the only company in our area featured. We eventually agreed and paid an additional £400 on top of our original £1,200 subscription.
A week later, a friend of mine received the exact same sales pitch from Steve — word for word — so it was clearly not an exclusive deal. We also never saw any evidence that the paid advertising was ever carried out.
When our second-year renewal came up, we asked Steve to cancel the advertising and not renew, but despite that, we were charged for another full year. Over the next 12 months, we received just two leads in total. We sent multiple emails and made several calls to follow up, including to request our VAT invoice for our return, but we never received a reply.
Overall, our experience has been very disappointing — poor communication, misleading sales tactics, and no evidence of the services promised. We would not recommend Book a Builder based on our experience.

Don’t use
Don’t use this app, it’s a waste of money, paid over £400 for guaranteed leads, and I’ve had none apart for leads that aren’t for my profession, I’ve tried for two weeks to get my money back but I get no contact, I’ve rang, emailed and I get nothing back, if you are in the building trade looking for leads, don’t not use this app it’s a scam

Very bad
This app is a total waste of time don’t even bother downloading it or even something!!!!
Scammers
They are scammers, charge you a lot of money and in the name of job you got peanuts, good job will gone in a second like all traders just sit on the phone 👎
Scam
No leads 600 paid and they want me to pay 1800 to expand on my radius what a joke
Scammers
I lost £800 to this lot. If you’re a tradesman, leave this well alone. Check trustpilot and you’ll see the trade reviews. I received one or two jobs in the month I had with them which had already gone when I tried to contact, could not get back into the app when I updated my phone. They wanted me to pay again. In summary, £800 for a month with two dead end jobs. Absolute scammers

Try MyJobQuote instead
This app isn’t the one you’re looking for. Before you get any jobs, you have to pay for a yearly membership(£400-£600). They don’t offer a monthly/cancel anytime contract.
They’ve also left a review here in this review section themselves(rather that actually replying to a review), saying that they have good reviews that they can show you. I’ve checked their trustpilot and it seems that their only good reviews are from customers rather than tradesmen. So, if you’re looking for a good trades app, don’t choose this(I’ve heard that checkatrade is just as bad now too). Try and give MyJobQuote a try though, I’ve found that decent for the time being.

Very bad
This company is not serious. They promise to help you until you pay them. Then they don't answer the phone and don't help you at all. I paid £1000 for nothing. In 6 weeks they only put stupid jobs on my platform that have nothing to do with my activity. When you hear about Book a Builder run away as fast as you can.

As a contractor this is the worst service I have used in all my years.
Paid an initial upfront fee of roughly £250+vat to get 2 leads a month for 12 months, The next day I received a call from book a builder and was talked into paying an extra £300+ for unlimited job leads for 12 months.
In the last 6 months (baring in mind I own a hard landscape company) I have received 1 loft conversion lead and 2 kitchen fitting leads.
After many phone calls and emails trying to sort the issue it’s now a case of only my assigned agent can talk to me but now always seems to be on another line when I call but he must have lost my number as I never get a call back.
I might as well of thrown £500+ cash on the van window on the motorway, al least that way an animal might have used the d£20 notes to build their home which would have been more useful.

Awful
App just gone off the radar and doesn’t work, their customer service is rubbish, don’t want to help, and so hard to contact them.
How can you have so many 1 star and 5 star reviews if they not doing their own, nothing in between so take heed from us 1 star reviewers, avoid !!
