Executive Functioning For Students 5*

I was given the Booost Education app as part of my Disabled Support Allowance package to help with my AuDHD. It’s basically your executive functioning, but in an app, and built with neurodivergent people in mind.
The best bit was the training with Amy from the Booost team. Seriously, it was brilliant. I've never had anyone "get" my brain the way she did. I even messaged her afterward, half-joking, "I kind of want you to follow me around explaining the world to me and me to the world 😂😂😂." The fact that they have people like her on their team tells you everything you need to know about how much they truly care and understand.
The app itself is so useful. It’s not just about managing tasks; it's designed to help you organize your life in a way that actually makes sense to you and helps you prioritise your day and optimise your most productive hours. Plus, the focus on wellbeing is a huge plus. It doesn’t feel like just some fluffy afterthought—it's genuine, tangible support that's quick and easy to access. The ‘Reach Out’ takes away all the thinking necessary when you are struggling the most that can hold you back from reaching out.
I honestly think every neurodivergent student (or anyone with executive dysfunction!) in higher education should use this app. It would make such a difference in managing the chaos, limited structure and external accountability of uni study. They should also definitely make a version for secondary school students!
Don't skip the training. It's not just about learning the app; it's about learning how to adapt it to your work with your own brain, and that's invaluable.

It just doesn’t work!

The app has never worked on my iOS phone. Neither has it worked through a PC. Quite disappointed, as I struggle to remember things. I was looking forward to being organised for once. I’m just going to continue using my calendar.

cannot load app

was very excited to use this app however i cannot even get it to open on my phone nor laptop as it jusr never loads. very disappointed:(

Not functional

Recommended by DSA. App needs to be deleted and reinstalled after every use as gets stuck on landing screen. No reminders. I was really optimistic about this but it doesn’t work

Would be great if the app worked

The point of Boost is undermined by the app not opening after loading it the first time on an iPhone. I just get a landing screen with the logo when I open it. No notifications or reminders work. Discovered this after setting it up and then missed an appointment as it failed to work as expected. If you have more than one personal calendar to sync, there is no option to make them different colours to display which would be useful, but as above, not really that much of an issue at the moment as the app doesn’t display anything unless I uninstall and reinstall each time I want to view.

not the best

I got this app for free through the DSA, but honestly, it’s not that great to use. While it can be helpful sometimes if you need something to organise tasks, overall it feels quite inconsistent. There are long loading screens, and it never works offline, which is frustrating.

I set up two daily routines that should reset every day, but they never do. If you’re looking for a reliable to-do or task manager, I’d honestly recommend using something like Notion or even your phone’s regular Notes app instead.

Good app

I like that the app has a lot of helpful features but I would like it to be easier to do things faster

This app just doesn't work

For an app that is targeted towards neurodivergent people it sure is a pain to use.
Its logs itself out, don't recognise your password and there for is useless.

Customer services suggested I use it on my laptop instead of my iPhone as there is some technical issues which is great if we all walked around with a laptop in our pocket.

I give up with it and will suggest that DSA does not recommend this app until then issues have been fixed.

Not great

The purpose of booost is to support me with reminders etc. It's kind of hard to use the app for this when notifications aren't sent out, it logs you out the app and have to log in to access my account everytiment I click to use it. This makes no sense to me and makes booost pointless as the feature needed most doesn't work.

Great but logs me out

Whenever I close the app so it's not running in the background it logs me out?
It prevents notifications and makes it super hard to be motivated to open it to check on due dates, events, ect.

It's great! But useless if it cant keep me logged in :/

Doesn’t work properly

The app looks like it could be great to help my ADHD brain, but the task reminders do not work. I’ve tried looking at the help page and following the instructions to fix this, but still nothing happened.

Good but has freezing issues

Good, helpful app but every time I go on it and try to edit one of my checklists, or even when I go on the app, it freezes. I reset it but it does the same thing again.

App issues

I love the app when it opens. I have no trouble in desktop but app version on my iPhone sometimes just does not load which means I can’t access any other things I need to help me

would be great if it worked properly

it never gives you reminders at the appropriate times, essentially making the whole reminder thing redundant – i keep getting reminded that events are in an hour after they’ve actually happened

app won’t load

i would love to actually use this app, but for weeks now it hasn’t ever loaded when i open the app, it just shows the logo screen. the app only worked the first couple of times i opened it after i first installed it

One of the most helpful apps for study organisation/prioritisation

I love this app, particularly the priority system so I know I’m prioritising my tasks properly! It runs so smoothly and I love the customisation. If I had any suggestions it would be:

- a weekly and monthly view, as I like to see what lies ahead. When it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind, which for someone with ADHD is not ideal!
- being able to set reminders of up to 2 weeks before all events, not just some. Some of my custom events I need to be reminded of well in advance.
- if you decide to Booost/focus for more than one time slot, it would be nice if they all merged together rather than appeared in half hour blocks just so it looked a bit less chaotic.

Anyway, thanks to the developer for the hard work on creating such a great, accessible app. I love it and it’s making so much difference to the way I choose to be productive!
