Ive been using wire transfers apps for a while this one was recommended by a friend and has been great so far
Best way to send money in the world
I love it
Very concerning verification experience
I used Boss Money for the first time to send more than $400 to my home country during an emergency. Before downloading the app, I checked reviews online and found that many people considered it trustworthy, so I decided to try it.
After I submitted the transfer, it remained pending for several hours. I contacted customer support through the in app chat and was told that my transaction was under review and that the verification department would call me.
The next day, I received a call from a number that matched boss money’s official customer support number. The representative knew my name, the amount I was sending, and the destination of the transfer. However, things became suspicious when I was told that they had contacted my bank and wanted to connect me with a bank representative.
A second person joined the call, claimed to be from my bank, and then asked for my social security number. That immediately raised concerns for me, so I ended the call, canceled the transfer, and contacted my bank directly.
My bank confirmed that they had never received a call from boss money and that they would never ask for my social security number in that way. Fortunately, my transfer was canceled and my money was returned.
I cannot say whether this reflects the entire company, but my experience was extremely concerning. I would strongly encourage other users to be cautious and verify everything directly with their bank before sharing any sensitive information.
