Improvement needed asap

Hey, tried this app after seeing an ad on instagram about it, saying it would find alternatives.
After installation I scanned many times a Neutrogena Lip balm which is easily recognisable (and it was also a part of the insta ad), but returned nothing.
Went to the settings/account tab, and tried to leave feedback there, but got redirected to a google page that's not accessible.
Country: 🇩🇪 Unknown - in my profile
As my job is in QA, my honest advice is this app should not have been released and promoted. Happy path is not working and a person has only 5 FREE scans per day.
I NEVER leave reviews, but since I support consuming mindful and local, this app looks like another cashgrab, for almost zero ROI.

After improvements I am open to test it change my review since the idea is amazing ☀️

Gute Idee.

Also für einen Monat 5 scans und dann kann man bezahlen? 10% davon an Go european. Irgendwie riecht das nicht nach Welt verbessern sondern nach Geld machen

Nicht zeitgemäße Zahlungsoption

Eine App von Europäern für Europäer. Ich muss ein Abonnement abschließen, um weitere Scans durchführen zu können? Das macht es schwieriger, sich von U.S.-Produkten zu lösen. Eine so wichtige App sollte kostenlos oder als Einmal-Kauf erhältlich sein. Enttäuschend... Wieder deinstalliert.

Limited Use

You can only do 5 free scans per month, unless you pay a subscription. Which I don’t mind, however, 5 free scans per month is pretty miserly…..

Erkennt Firmenlogo nicht

Ist noch ausbaufähig: habe mehrfach das Firmenlogo von hp gescannt. Leider wird es nicht identifiziert, es kommt ein „Entschuldigung, leider nicht erkennbar“

Tolle Idee - App scheint aber auf iPhone 17pro nicht zu funktionieren Update: funktioniert jetzt

Der Gedanke, europäische Marken durch die App bewusst wieder in den Fokus zu rücken, finde ich grundsätzlich gut. Ich würde die App sicher auch nutzen, wenn ich über den Startbildschirm hinaus käme. Wenn ich auf den Button „LOSLEGEN“ klicke dreht kurz der blaue Ring, das war’s. Was zweifellos auch sinnvoll wäre ist eine Möglichkeit Fehler zu melden, damit man nicht über eine (schlechte) Rezension gehen muss ☹️

Update 05.01.2026: Die App funktioniert jetzt auch auf meinem iPhone. Vielen Dank für die schnelle Reaktion 👍Da man ja eine möglichst unabhängige Auflistung von europäischen Alternativen haben möchte, finde ich das Bezahlmodell ok. Auch die Möglichkeit einer Lifetime-Lizenz für ein bisschen mehr Geld ist fair. Ich probiere jetzt mal aus, vielleicht kommt dann auch der letzte Stern noch dazu 😁

Unbrauchbar

Der Gedanke dahinter ist sicher lobenswert; allein es scheitert mal wieder an der Umsetzung. Nach dem Tippen auf „Loslegen“ passiert…NICHTS! Somit völlig unbrauchbar!

too bugy and bad UX

slow loading, won't work without the camera permission, the search results aren't easy to understand, because it won't show what you are looking for

Hi! Thank you for taking the time for reviewing our app and providing us with valuable feedback. The scanning feature indeed requires camera permission, but accessing the database should still work without approving camera. Could you confirm that? The search results are right now from the Go European database, curated by 100+ volunteers. It contains thousands of brands but it might still not have all European brands in there. Could you please fill in the feedback form in the app and specify what search term was missing and why it was hard to understand? We would love to add more to the database and make it more UX-friendly :)

Brandsnap behauptet, Netgear sei eine deutsche Marke. Das stimmt nicht, Netgear hat seine. Hauptsitz in den USA. Eine Korrekturmeldung geht nur über das allgemeine Feedback (Google docs…), das könnte man besser machen.

Die App erkennt nicht alles richtig. Z.B. wird meine Asus Alarmzentrale als Ubiquity Access Point erkannt… Es sollte eine Möglichkeit zur Korrektur geben.

Gute Neuigkeiten: Ein neues Meldesystem zur Korrektur von Fehlern ist bereits in Arbeit und wird mit dem nächsten Update (nächste Woche) verfügbar sein. App is not running

I only got to page 3 with „request for support needed“, but no chance to get to the next page. Hopefully this will improve as I like the basic idea. - good luck!
