Why is it so much?

I first got this last year at 4.99 per month and then cancelled and a couple months ago I reinstalled it for $4.99 a month to try again. I cancelled it again. I can’t justify the price. Now it says $9.99 a month. Like it is just a spread sheet/calculator. I love the app, but $9.99 a month is crazy. A one time $9.99 I would pay to input my numbers, but every month paying that is just crazy.

Misleading - You have to pay to use it!!!

I don’t mind a pay to use app, but not sharing that until after I finish the whole tutorial AND make an account feels shady!!

In <3 since Day 1!

Few suggestions, for each envelope, can we please have a dedicated “Memo” section in the details section and (weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly) added for additional options for “Payment Schedules”? Thanks for the consideration. I plan on switching from YNAB (after six years) to this mainly because FINALLY A BUDGETING APP ALLOWS ME TO BUDGETS PAYCHECKS BIWEEKLY INSTEAD OF JUST MONTHLY.

I love it

This app is super simple to get the hang of and has been the best budgeting app I’ve tried. I went with the monthly payment for a couple months to try it out and decided to go ahead with the yearly because I loved it.

I was using Notion to track my finances previously but this is so quick and simple, I’ll never go back. Thank you for creating this masterpiece bestie🙂‍↕️💓 I’d loveee to see some features such as a monthly overview/summary of spending in the future!!!

bug fix and updates needed

the app is helpful for budgeting, but despite having a suggestion page within the app there have been little to no updates in months. i would personally appreciate a search bar for the emojis, being about to see monthly recaps / averages for spending in each envelope, and for them to fix the bug where the “time to stuff” banner stays after you’ve already stuffed. these are all feature requests that i’ve seen being made for a while now (and that i believe the developers have seen as well), but nothing as changed. the monthly recap is especially important for users to know how much they’re spending on each category, which is part of the intentional spending this app is supposed to encourage. if i’m paying $80 a year for this app i expect action to feedback:/ i won’t be renewing my subscription otherwise

Hi ddhdtu ffijdy vhdj. c, Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry the experience felt unclear. Budget Bestie is a subscription app, and we don’t market it as free. We mention that in our App Store description, in step 4 of onboarding (as you noted), and the pricing is listed under 'in-app purchases' in the app listing. We also include a suggested Budget Bestie envelope during setup to highlight that it's a paid app. We understand that if it's missed, it can feel frustrating, and we’re always working to make that even clearer. Just to clarify, we do offer both monthly and annual subscription options, not just annual, so there's some flexibility depending on your budget. We also keep our pricing lower than many comparable budgeting apps, and we don’t sell user data—ever. Free apps still need to cover costs, and that’s often done by sharing or selling data, which is something we’ll never do. And really appreciate the note about the emoji picker. Definitely hear you on that. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

It’s paid, don’t bother.

I spent 30 mins setting it up just to say I need to pay and the only option other than paying is to sign out. So I wasted all that time.

All these greedy companies are awful, an app for simply tracking spending and budgeting should not have a subscription, should not even have a login.

The app has lost my budget twice in one year

The app lost all my budget data twice, once when I bought a new phone and “restore purchase” didn’t work and again when my plan was up for renewal. Huge waste of time.

Regarding the reply, of course I was using the same Apple ID, all my other apps’ information moved over easily.

Love the app

My only wish is that it added all the sections together to show a full total

could’ve been cute

not only was it a headache to read with the fonts, but then it completely turned into a zoomed in screen & nothing could be done.. so no thanks

Not Free

Setup takes a long time only to find out after doing all the work that it isn’t free. The app should have made it clear before I spent an hour on setup.

Budget Bestie app review

I’ve been using this budget app for a while now (have the paid subscription) and it has genuinely changed the way I manage my money. I went from organising spreadsheets and paper budgeting to having everything accessible on my screen with reminders and simple controls for moving money between envelopes. Also love that it ‘suggests’ how much you should put in each envelope to keep up with upcoming expenses!

The only improvements I’d love to see is more flexibility with the categories during set up, especially for users with multiple bank accounts as it would make organising finances even more smoother.
It would also be unreal if there was a way to add savings account interest rates so users can track how much extra their earning from their savings overtime with consistent deposits as long as the user read terms and conditions correctly from their bank.

Also ran into an issues when logging into my account on another phone as it wanted me to repay the subscription.

Other than this, can’t stop recommending this app to family and friends in need of a budget in their lives!

Thanks so much for the thoughtful review and for supporting Budget Bestie! It means a lot hearing that the app has helped simplify your budgeting and move you away from spreadsheets and paper tracking. We really appreciate your feedback! We do have a feature request section within the app settings where users can upvote requests and submit their own ideas if they’re not already listed. We prioritize building features based on the requests with the highest upvotes. As for the subscription issue on another device, your subscription is tied to your Apple ID. If the device is using the same Apple ID, all you need to do is scroll down and tap “Restore Purchases” on the paywall and it should resolve right away. If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at support@budgetbestie.app, always happy to help! Thanks again for recommending Budget Bestie to your friends and family, we truly appreciate it! Sasha, CEO & Co-Founder

Love this!

I really like this app! I’ve cash stuffed in the past, but this is next level! It’s simple and easy to use. Support is quick to reply if you need assistance. Yes, it’s a paid app - but my monthly bikini was is more expensive :)

No option to reset budget

Doesn’t let me start again - factors in previous budget. I wanted to reset but it kept budgeting previous money that was no longer there. Frustrating

Lied

Says it’s free, but you have to pay for a plan, and can’t create an account unless you do.

Waste of time

I never ever leave app reviews but this ‘service’ is bad, I just spent over two hour setting everything up only to be hit with a paywall of quite a high monthly payment. Yes yes yes, I saw what you’ve written to others who’ve complained about the same issue but you are being disingenuous. I never would sign up for a $13 per month subscription for a budgeting app so I would have like to have known that was the cost before wasting my time setting it all up.

Hey Kristi 73, We’re sorry the experience felt frustrating. Budget Bestie is a subscription based app, and pricing details are displayed directly on the App Store listing before downloading. We also offer a free trial so users can explore the app before being charged. As a small team, subscriptions allow us to continue improving the app and building new features based on user feedback. Many of our users find they save far more than the cost of the subscription through more intentional budgeting and spending habits. We appreciate you giving the app a try.

Manque de transparence… 🤥

Love it! Need a dent feature too

Really enjoyed the app in the past! I left it a few months ago but came back today and got the yearly subscription. Really would like a debt payoff feature!! Will continue to use 💕

horrible!

I went through and did everything i needed too then at the very end it wanted to charge me $70 to keep using it or sign out!!! greedy.

Not free

Just beware the app is only free to download. It lets you setup everything and at the end you can either buy the yearly or monthly version or sign out.
Other than that, it has great colors.

Want to love

I previously left a 5 star review as the app is great for budgeting however that was when I wasn’t using the savings envelope but I decided to make use of it. That is when I want so happy. When I stuffed money in my savings envelope it didn’t minus it from my total spend so for example if I have $500 to stuff and I spent $400 and saved $100 according to the app I have $100 that I haven’t spent and then they try to add that $100 to my next budget which I don’t want it to do because I have saved that money and don’t want to stuff it. I don’t have an extra $100 to add to my budget

Hi Sarsar00, It sounds like there may be some confusion around how savings envelopes work. When you stuff money into a savings envelope, it’s still part of your total “you have” amount because it’s still your money, it’s just being set aside. The app is designed to reflect the full amount across all your accounts so you can track both your spending and your savings in one place. When you start a new budget, you’re only stuffing new income that you add. Your saved money isn’t being added again unless you choose to move it out of your savings envelopes. If you’re noticing something different or it doesn’t feel right, feel free to email me at support@budgetbestie.app and I can take a closer look with you. Thanks,
