Long projects are extremely difficult
At first I really liked using callipeg and it was very useful to me but as I moved on to longer projects I ran into problems. I realised I needed to work in many small shots to stop it from crashing which was perfectly alright but then I had a looping animation on the hair and background with different lip sync throughout the whole project. I can’t insert the section as a video because the lip sync would be wrong and when I duplicate the moving sections I can’t drag them into a new shot so I have to painstakingly copy, load the other shot, paste, load back to the previous shot and to this over and over for hundreds of frames to get it from one shot to the next with the smaller one often not saving when I go to the menu like its supposed to and the longer one crashing the app constantly. So making an 11 minute long video becomes insanely tedious.

A nice animation app
It’s a nice animation app with many features. I’ve been using it to animated for over a year. It’s very easy to figure out, and I believe I haven’t explored it entirely yet. One of my biggest complaints is how easily the app crashes. It wasn’t really that big of an issue as it only would remove a frame or two once I rebooted it. Along with that issue it does remind you to create backups in case this happens. Although, there was an incident today. When I was animating, I was reminded to back up my work as usual. I was very proud of my work and had a lot done. I was going to finish up the frame I was working on until I made a mistake. I pressed undo, and it wasn’t working right. It undid the entire frame. I pressed redo, and then over half of my work was deleted. I went back and forth between redo and undo. Unfortunately my work had been deleted. I believe this is partially my fault, but this had never happened to me until today. With that, I would recommend this app, but just be careful.

A few flaws
I am currently using this app for my animated show and have loved it, it’s layout especially for frames and the onion skinning are superb and make learning fun. The other features like the transformation layer are a little more finicky and are honestly quite a headache to deal with (especially when making moving backgrounds or simple camera tilts). Another problem are the brushes the ones given are quite good but have a few flaws, for example the smooth pencil which works well until it’s being used for zoomed out shots where it’s becomes streaky and unreadable, additionally the lack of clipping mask makes coloring and shadows a much harder process to the point I’ve resorted to using a different app for the whole cleanup process. I love this app and have a lot of hope for it, I want to use it for everything and hope it gets these, I guess “quality of life” features soon

An amazingly well designed app for hand-drawn animation. The interface is slick, intuitive, and fun to work in, with enough features to be versatile without distracting from the drawing experience. The ability to export to TVPaint is a huge plus.

This app isn’t free. It is only advertised as free, but once you open it, it will ask you to pay $14.99 to use. Kind of weird if you ask me. I purchased it because it looked good. Truly, it’s a great animation app. It has many tools, but I have problem. I don’t know if it’s just my device, but I saw a lot of reviews talking about this. It has a lag issue. Not that it’s delayed, but it will kick you out of the app sometimes and delete some of your progress with it. Sometimes, I’ll be zoomed in and drawing. Once I zoom out the layer under it will be completely deleted. I don’t know why. I thought it was me clicking undo too many times, but the drawing could have been drawn at the beginning and still be deleted. It is kind of annoying because then I have to go and re-draw or re-color something. If you can live with that, I think it’s a good app. I still use it because i payed for it. Is it worth $14.99? I don’t think so.

Ajoutez l’export avec fond alpha
INCROYABLE votre APPLI, tout est niquel vraiment. Mais j’aimerais juste avoir l’export avec le fond alpha (jsp si on peut le faire déjà), ça rajouterait un côté encore plus professionnel car on pourrait mixer Callipeg avec After Effect. Je fais des vidéos sur YouTube : Capitain Talha et j’adorai faire un placement de produit de votre app vraiment magnifique qui m’a changé ma vie.

Problem with exporting mp4 to photos
When exporting I can’t export my animation to mp4 and save it to my photo album, when I try to Callipeg crashes.

I love using this app and it’s one of my favourites, but at some points, it’ll just keep crashing and crashing when the shot exceeds 3gb when the shot isn’t that long, any fixes?
If I could give it negative stars I would
Charged me twice. When I realized, I deleted the app and attempted a refund, as I didn’t want to pay 30 usd for an app I didn’t even know if I would use long term. Despite me explaining that I hadn’t realized it’d charge me twice ( once for the App Store, twice to use the app, ) along with me not wanting ANY app for THIRTY DOLLARS, it was denied. I try not to leave negative reviews, even if my problem doesn’t get fixed. Im just frustrated. Maybe I would’ve given it an actual shop if it didn’t charge me an additional 15 just to open the app.

Bug n brush list
Just purchased, was sketching and trying out brushes , the brush list cant be closed neither by changing tools or minimizing, had to restart, cant leave document to go to the scenes folder either. Recorded a vid of the bug

Feature rich animation software
I don’t know why there are so many people flooding the reviews with rage about having to pay money for something. They seem to all be literal children who think it’s a game and not a piece of near-professional grade software. Occasionally I have seen crashes, but this has gotten way better over the years. They’ve also added features and tightened others up, so it feels like they’re really responsive to feedback (love the addition of transformation layers that preserve the original drawing). Like, I genuinely can’t understand why the ratings are so much lower for this app than for others, because my experience of, say, Animation Desk was actually catastrophic failure on every single animation (frames randomly altering/deleting themselves, or entire layers emptying themselves out for no reason, etc), versus this, which maybe just crashes every so often but automatically backs up so frequently that I have never lost anything when it happens.
I would like to see some more love given to the brush system, particularly something like a blur/blend brush or attribute as well eventually. It would also be nice to have something like a mask layer. You can get something like it with the alpha lock feature, but that requires you to duplicate an already finished layer, so it’s not super flexible. Was psyched to see that is on the roadmap already though!

Great animation app!
Great animation app that gives you premium features the only problem is that sometimes the app crashes, often fixed with a restart of the app or your device. This would be even better if they added squeeze feature from Apple Pencil pro and a faster way to access the colours.
Feature suggestion
I love this app so much, it is genuinely one of the best animation apps I’ve used and I wish to continue using it long term. However, a thing I would really appreciate is a sort of “free mode” where the project isn’t necessarily separated into pre-set shots, as it can feel really limiting. Like a sort of infinite animation, where you can just add in frames and make it as long as you need, mostly like it’s seen in average animation apps. Very buggy
App crashes every time my son tries to do layers it crashes. There also needs to be more sound features like trimming the sound. Also maybe a tutorial feature.
