Love this
An amazingly well designed app for hand-drawn animation. The interface is slick, intuitive, and fun to work in, with enough features to be versatile without distracting from the drawing experience. The ability to export to TVPaint is a huge plus.
What even is the point of making it a free app

This app isn’t free. It is only advertised as free, but once you open it, it will ask you to pay $14.99 to use. Kind of weird if you ask me. I purchased it because it looked good. Truly, it’s a great animation app. It has many tools, but I have problem. I don’t know if it’s just my device, but I saw a lot of reviews talking about this. It has a lag issue. Not that it’s delayed, but it will kick you out of the app sometimes and delete some of your progress with it. Sometimes, I’ll be zoomed in and drawing. Once I zoom out the layer under it will be completely deleted. I don’t know why. I thought it was me clicking undo too many times, but the drawing could have been drawn at the beginning and still be deleted. It is kind of annoying because then I have to go and re-draw or re-color something. If you can live with that, I think it’s a good app. I still use it because i payed for it. Is it worth $14.99? I don’t think so.

Problem with exporting mp4 to photos
When exporting I can’t export my animation to mp4 and save it to my photo album, when I try to Callipeg crashes.

I love using this app and it’s one of my favourites, but at some points, it’ll just keep crashing and crashing when the shot exceeds 3gb when the shot isn’t that long, any fixes?
If I could give it negative stars I would
Charged me twice. When I realized, I deleted the app and attempted a refund, as I didn’t want to pay 30 usd for an app I didn’t even know if I would use long term. Despite me explaining that I hadn’t realized it’d charge me twice ( once for the App Store, twice to use the app, ) along with me not wanting ANY app for THIRTY DOLLARS, it was denied. I try not to leave negative reviews, even if my problem doesn’t get fixed. Im just frustrated. Maybe I would’ve given it an actual shop if it didn’t charge me an additional 15 just to open the app.

Bug n brush list
Just purchased, was sketching and trying out brushes , the brush list cant be closed neither by changing tools or minimizing, had to restart, cant leave document to go to the scenes folder either. Recorded a vid of the bug

Feature rich animation software
I don’t know why there are so many people flooding the reviews with rage about having to pay money for something. They seem to all be literal children who think it’s a game and not a piece of near-professional grade software. Occasionally I have seen crashes, but this has gotten way better over the years. They’ve also added features and tightened others up, so it feels like they’re really responsive to feedback (love the addition of transformation layers that preserve the original drawing). Like, I genuinely can’t understand why the ratings are so much lower for this app than for others, because my experience of, say, Animation Desk was actually catastrophic failure on every single animation (frames randomly altering/deleting themselves, or entire layers emptying themselves out for no reason, etc), versus this, which maybe just crashes every so often but automatically backs up so frequently that I have never lost anything when it happens.
I would like to see some more love given to the brush system, particularly something like a blur/blend brush or attribute as well eventually. It would also be nice to have something like a mask layer. You can get something like it with the alpha lock feature, but that requires you to duplicate an already finished layer, so it’s not super flexible. Was psyched to see that is on the roadmap already though!

Great animation app!
Great animation app that gives you premium features the only problem is that sometimes the app crashes, often fixed with a restart of the app or your device. This would be even better if they added squeeze feature from Apple Pencil pro and a faster way to access the colours.
Very buggy
App crashes every time my son tries to do layers it crashes. There also needs to be more sound features like trimming the sound. Also maybe a tutorial feature.

I’ve been using Callipeg for a few years now and it’s been so cool to see it develop overtime! It’s a blessing of an app for me as a 2D animator without the funds for big industry programmes, and especially when it’s already tricky to find animation apps for iPad.
LOVE THIS PROGRAM MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF
callipeg is the only good animation software for ipad that doesnt feel like its a fully mobile or fully desktop program, rather its a secret third thing which works the best. im even more glad its coming to android. however here are some improvements i would suggest
- sometimes i try to zoom in on a audio layer and it gets mad at me for trying to draw on a audio layer which im not. if theres no way to fix this issue, then please make it into a tiny lil modal instead of a full screen takeover
- allow fingers and 3rd party styli by default, some of us are not rich
- maybe you could also make a special icon for pried month
otherwise tho, this program has helped me to improve alot and when someone wants to start animating on their ipad or android tablet, i recommend them calipeg first, thank everyone who has worked on this program, i love that real humans respond to reviews, sending love from north carolina!!!

cool but problem
The app is cool and fun to maneuver especially since I had been looking for an animating app that’s worth while. This one seemed promising and easy to work with but the problem I have doesn’t come from the app itself. I found out that the app charged me $24.99 instead of $14.99. I thought maybe I had seen the pricing wrong until i searched it up and the pricing of the app is $14.99 and that it’s a one time transaction. I have no Idea why it charged me ten more dollars than the original amount. Please help/fix! Thank you.

It’s a good animate app, but why I feel it getting worse
Hey creator, please let me know when you guys see it because I quite confusing with the function right now . I was using Callipeg for recent 2 years but I don’t know why it’s start have a very serious bug with audio and animate location after the update. It’s like I was editing the timing of the animation and every time when I put the framed into the right location, the audio will be messed up that it shows the animation always slower or faster rather than the right timing I put before. Am I setting up project wrong? How can I fix this problem?

I love it! But…
I have been using this app for my animations and I enjoy it so much! However there has been a problem with the recent update I think. I went to import a photo to the cel layer so I can draw over it but when I do, it just stops working completely. I tried resetting my device but same thing happens, it’s gotten to the point where my brush strokes don’t show and it crashes out :(

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE APP?
The app was perfect was using for 2 years now and now since the “5 year anniversary “ update it’s been buggy …for instance I’m no longer able to upload any images and videos from gallery / files. And it trips out. I tried re installing buying more space for the brand new iPad gen 10 I have .. even updating the iPad to most recent IOS. Need help if possible

Crashes constantly
Just bought the app. Very happy about the removal of subscription but the app crashes every time I duplicate a layer to add color. Also resets my onion skin custom colors. Please fix. Thanks.
