Don’t waste your money
After having canary for years. The price became ridiculously inflated, compared to other similar home cameras (ring). After cancelling my premium subscription I’ve had nothing but problems.

Great support
Canary can be frustrating but once you get to the right person it becomes a great experience . I found support to be professional and friendly and there was a genuine willingness to persist until the problem was fixed
App Breaking Ads
Full screen ads pop up with no way to dismiss them, even after waiting several minutes. The only way I found to get back to the app was to completely quit the app and relaunch it. Other apps had dark patterns to mislead the user. Unusable.
Bait and switch
Full of ads. Barely functional. Video quality poor. Stay away.
Don’t do it
App disconnects from the service too much… especially for a pay (premium) service. If you have the free service then maybe you can deal with it.
solid home security
Have had multiple Canary devices for years. They have consistently worked as expected, providing solid home security. The few times I needed to contact customer support, they were very responsive - quick replies and quick resolution to my issues.
Terrible
I've had this app for many years. 2-3 weeks I started having issues viewing even while inside my home let alone when I am out. No solution has been provided- deleted and reinstalled the app and same problem. I can't view video all I get is incorrect connection! Well I've had the same connection for numerous years.

Terrible piece of garbage
Just so you know; when you need to check on your dogs in your RV in the middle of a heat emergency, you’ll be forced to watch 3 full minutes of ads for fake silicone boob chests on Temu before the camera will enable. This thing is the worst thing I’ve ever bought. The trashiest non stop ads when I’m just trying to use the device as intended.

Pretty awful
Unless you pay a subscription you don’t get any recordings saved or anything. Even when I was paying for a subscription, it was awful and only recorded like 45 second clips. Honestly, save your money and buy something else.

Slowly but surely they're removing EVERY FEATURE from people who backed their Kickstarter.

It’s a decent camera but you can get full professional security service for a whole house monitored with multiple sensors and cameras for the price of the service provided with this app for each camera. Mine are going in the garbage

DO NOT BUY
Don't get involved with Canary. Simplisafe is a more tried and true brand. Canary will offer you free months and then pull the rug out if the coupon code doesn't work resulting in you paying $20 per month for one camera! Absurd. Terrible. They are a money grab with a mid product
Sells ads for security
I got their product through a kickstarter but they didn't understand how to fund it so they started selling extremely long ads that happen in the middle of you checking your home security. If they had advertised they were going to turn to a subscription model, ok. But they didn't so now I have this useless device that spams me. Don't buy! This company will sell you one thing and then change it and also, it's real creepy to see an ad while watching a home camera. What else of yours are they selling to make money?

Used to be amazing
Since the recent update to services the cameras are useless to us. Not going to pay 20$/month for each camera. 80$/month just to check on my kids when I need to is ridiculous.
Cameras have all these features that they completely disabled unless you pay for premium now.

Garbage! Fail…
EXTREME use of adds makes the app trash!
The developer responded (2 times only to repeat what they previously said) with excuses then copied and pasted all the Canary functions consisting of 686 words to describe their products to make it look like they took the time to “get back to me”. Not worth buying the Canary. If you just purchased one, return it before you experience their shady service.

Unable to hear w/ Bluetooth Earphones
When paired on my phone, and then I click “live view” it stops playing on BT and only plays through my phone speakers. I don’t know why all of sudden it changed. I need to be able to hear the audio on my BT headphones.
Overmonitization
You buy the camera but that’s not enough for Canary, they allow you to watch the live feed for 30 second intervals before forcing you to watch an ad. Not to mention an ad banner on the screen while you’re watching the live feed. They want you to buy their subscription and if you don’t then this security camera is basically worthless. It’s disgusting that you buy a product and they still want to charge monthly service just to use that product for its intended use. Do not recommend buying from this brand. Go with Ring instead.

Ad in middle of screen
Purchased a bit ago - I don’t need a subscription for my purposes- just check screen once in a while … now I’m punished with a huge ad in the middle of my viewing screen that you can’t close- I’ll never buy another Canary & I will boycott their advertisers - negative 10 stars- hate them
