My review keeps getting deleted
I’ve already typed a novel 3x and it keeps getting taken down.
Cliffs: they promised weekly training session with Ryan, it’s actually a zoom call where he talks about his life, not a training session. This plan is very bait and switch. It’s horrendously expensive, and when I asked why I’m not getting what they promised when I agreed to sign up, they told me I had to pay ANOTHER 2 K on top of the 4 K I already paid if I wanted actual coaching instead of just me by myself, left alone with their app and no actual feedback, coaching, communication, etc.

F o u r t h o u s a n d for no coaching. Just a generic app
Cliffs. F O U R T H O S A N D. I was promised actual coaching. I was told this would not be me left Alone with an app and no coaching, no support. Instead, I was left alone with just an app and every time I asked why am I not getting actual coaching from an actual human, I was told I needed to pay ANOTHER t w o t h o u s a n d.
The app itself is fine. Just like any one of hundreds of other CrossFit style training programs. The problem is that I was told it would be weekly 1on1 coaching with Ryan, and the rest of the week I would get coaching from zoey. Instead all I got was a generic email checklist to fill out on sundays, that no one ever read or critiqued, no one reviewed my progress (a few times my coach left an emoji, that’s it), and a “weekly check in with Ryan” that was a zoom meeting where he talked about things like how hard it was for him to get a workout in while he was on vacation in aspen or park city or where ever. It was NOT a coaching session. Just a group zoom meeting of him talking and sometimes some Other people I didn’t know talking. Not coaching ME. Not a workout session with ME.
Around 3 months in (dec) I got an email check in from another chalk employee, and he scheduled a phone call. I laid out my complaints and he was SHOCKED that I was not getting 1on1 coaching directly from Ryan, for the price I was paying. He said he couldn’t find my account, only a years old one from when I had their regular app, not the VIP. He asked me to send copies of my cc statement showing charges from chalk and he would look into it. I sent them. Never heard from him again.
Overall, I’m massively unimpressed with the value of this program. I feel completely defrauded by chalk, and completely disillusioned by exercise now. Are all trainers like this?

No….
Tried it for a couple months… waste of time. It’s just CrossFit they’ve copied from YouTube. If you’re already doing CrossFit then this could be the app for you. If you’re trying to lose weight this is not the app. Moves are far too advanced, they don’t cater to anyone starting out. They have been caught over and over again editing their before and after photos of themselves and their clients🙄🙄 their response was to cry on camera… I gave it a real try because I wanted it to work, but ended going to a real program made by actual PhD’s over at RP and have had amazing results.
