Never has worked

I’m an electrician and I’ve installed a dozen of these chargers over the last 5 years and the installer app has never once worked. I’ve always had to complete the setup with the homeowner’s phone and app.

Update broke the app

Never had any problems until the latest update. Now it just hangs up rather than cueing me to provide customer info. If I disconnect, it goes back to blinking white. Used the customer app to register and it had the proper breaker setting already. Just wouldn’t finish properly. Also tried on my Android phone. Same story.

Awful experience

I hate this developer

App is irrelevant.

App does not work to set up charger, despite there being 2 notices in the box that you need it. There is one notice in the box stating that you need the user app to set up the charger. Thank you to other reviewers for addressing this.

Not needed, doesn’t work anyway

The ChargePoint Installer app says it requires a licensed electrician to use the app and activate the charger. When my electrician arrived, he said the app doesn’t work, and is not needed. He showed me how to use the owner’s ChargePoint app to activate the charger, ser the amperage, and connect to WiFi.

I had replaced a defective charger (the WiFi stopped working after a couple of months), and the installation instructions said to use the ChargePoint Service Pro app for activation. This Installer app was the only other ChargePoint app available. ChargePoint needs to clean up their act and keep their apps and instructions in synch.

Frustration not needed

I am not sure whether the Chargepoint Installer iOS application was the problem or the backend processing. There was a long delay getting my new ChargePoint Home Flex charger operational. The licensed electrician and I did call the ChargePoint technical support for assistant getting our amperage set to my investment in power wire and 60 amp breaker. After two attempts the ChargePoint technical support person was able to change the amperage to 48 after we had specified during the initial value in to Installer app. An additional 45 minutes was not needed if the iOS app and backend services were working correctly. I trust there is a very strong, secure connection to my ChargePoint Home Flex charger. The good news the Home Flex is fully functional.

Crashes instantly, is now useless

I downloaded this app as a last resort option to try and reset what now appears to be a home flex unit with dead wifi/bluetooth. Anyway the app let me make an account but as soon as I finished making the account, the app crashed and now crashes within 3 seconds of opening it.

Die App funktioniert gar nicht mehr…

Aber was will man von ChargePoint auch erwarten. Das ist die Firma mit dem schlechtesten Support, mit dem ich in mehr als 20 Berufsjahren zu tun hatte. Unterirdisch…

Charge Point

If I could give this less than one star I would. Dealing with this company has been extremely disappointing. Their company runs as well as this poor app.

Déception

Bug bug et rebug pas capable de configurer mon borne comme le vendeur m’avait dit
C’est crissement pas pug and play

Doesn’t work

Doesn’t work on iPhone. Crashes when you scan the QR code. They do ask for all your personal info though.

I like eggs

Fun

This app does not work

My installer made it as far as the QR code scan and then it was nothing but error messages from there. After the app crashed and he relaunched it, the login for the app kept giving errors.

We gave up and tried the regular ChargePoint app which has an option to add a charging station and it asked about the amperage of the breaker, the wifi credentials, and everything was perfect from there. 0 stars for this app would be fair.

Couldn’t log in

Sent me a login code from my phone and won’t accept it! 10 times. I give up

Hot garbage

Something went wrong error for everything you do. Can’t even log in now without a something went wrong error.

I know what went wrong. I downloaded your app.

Garbage

How is ChargePoint so popular when their app is such a garbage? Kicks you out, doesn’t not let you login and it barely scan a QR code after 20 attempts. Absolutely ridiculous. I don’t understand how charge is so popular garbage.

Won’t log in

And if you do log in and scan a charger, it kicks you out to the log in screen

Installing a Home Charger? - READ THIS

This app isn’t required for setting up a charge point home charger anymore. Have the owner download the normal Charge Point app that shows public charger information. There is a tab at the bottom for setting up a new home charger. It took a call to their support line to learn we were using the wrong app the whole time. I don’t really know what this app is even for now, they should probably take it off the App Store to stop confusing customers and electricians.

Total garbage

I cannot possibly emphasize enough how poorly written the entire software stack is for the home flex charger. This app in particular is full of bugs. My charger “forgets” its current setting every few months and it takes a good hour or so of just trying and failing to get this absolute dumpster fire of an app to work so I can set the breaker amperage again.

You can wipe yourself with the instructions

Apparently the instructions for installers provide you a link to this app claiming you can set breaker settings, it’s just a ploy to get you to enter your personal information. The app doesn’t work at all, it is non functional. You can literally wipe yourself with the instructions. Just get the homeowner to set up an account with the charge point app and do it the stupid way.
