Limited accessibility For The Blind
Spent the extra money to purchase this oven specifically because it had an app that allowed the user to cook from your phone. As a Blind iPhone user, I use voice to access apps on my phone. This app is partially accessible, but not enough to run the app 100% from voiceover making the appliance not truly accessible to me. For example, when I go to set the time or temperature, I cannot access the ticker in order to adjust these items. I can click on the temperature, and it brings up something where I’m supposed to be able to change the temperature, but I am 100% unable to do so. Also, I thought I would solve the problem by saving my frequent temperature settings using the favorite function. Times/temperature settings saved here, (supposedly) allow the user to click on the recipe and start it. However, every time I click to start a time/temperature setting from the favorite section, I get an error message that tells me that the settings were not sent correctly. I have attempted this multiple times but I get the error the same way every time. This app and product have a lot of potential, but right now, it needs a lot of work to work with voiceover. If this was corrected, many vision impaired people would be purchasing this item.

Cook time badly flawed
Estimated cook time is badly flawed. Consistently seems to get stuck thinking it will be an hour until it’s done when the temperature is still rising at the same rate.

These things are nice when they work but constant disconnects requiring resets kill the experience. The automatic timers are wildly inaccurate. I’d shop elsewhere.

Why convoluting your sw with recipes?
Used to be easy to use the device for temperature control. Now one has to endure recipes before getting anywhere.
Probes
If the probes are not perfectly set they do not charge.
The time the probes work is not consistent ie. the battery dies on one probe faster then others.

Unfortunate Let down
While these probes seemed like a great idea my set never works. I haven’t made it through one full cook without it going to “probe disconnected” doesn’t matter if I’m in the smoker, grill or oven neither probe ever stays connected through the full cook. Back to my Thermoworks probes
Broken Notifications and support is lacking
I reached out to support because there is a badge on the app, but nothing in the app to respond to. They told me to disable notifications.
Feedback
This is an amazing product. The only problem that I have is, is that whenever you get done completing a cooking or if you get some sort of notification you end up getting a whole bunch of notifications still left on your phone and will have the amount notifications left on the app icon. It doesn’t delete the notifications. It’s just a software defect I guess but other than that it’s amazing.

Battery life
The battery does not last long enough for extended cooking. I use for a prime rib and low battery warning came on after 1 hour.

To cook a brisket and the probe only lasted a couple hours., and this was with two replacement probes sent by the manufacturer.

CHEF iQ probes
They do not connect very well, and you have to usually disconnect the app and then reconnect the app. I would not recommend.
Where’s the Picanha
There needs to be a choice for a Picanha/ sirloin cap

I researched a few different brands with no satisfaction. This one was recommended by a friend. I brought it home from Costco and tried it out in my smoker immediately.

I have had the mini oven for almost 2 months now and love using it. I would love to be able to preheat for air frying and a turn over/shake reminder as well. Thank you.
App not intuitive at all
I have been trying for over a half hour to figure out how to get to manual cooking mode. I searched on Google. I asked ChatGPT and none of the instructions I have been provided have worked. I’m about ready to return this because the only reason I bought it was to use use it for manual cooking. I don’t care about all of the recipes on this app.
