Free trial is a lie
I am not happy when I go to try it charges me not cool. To expensive!
This looks really good- maybe needs a couple tweaks
Ok I’m trying this out. The picture taking is cool but I kind of wish that was more the feature. When I take a picture it sets up the chore, but then it just saves the chore that way. I want to take a picture every time and have it give me a list. I CAN do this but I have to delete and restart the chore everytime. Anyway it worked pretty well for me and AMAZING for my 8 year old. We just took a pic of the living room and it gave her a timed list instead ME having to say “pick up the socks on the floor” etc. anyway. Worth the subscription I think (I did 3 months) we just tried it for the first time over the last couple days.

Hi! I'm Thomas, the developer of the app. This is such a good idea, I'm still working out how to best make it so that the chore can be permanent, but it's possible to update the list with the photo. Feel free to write me at thomas@chorefriend.com if you have more ideas. My current thinking is that we probably want the title / progress of the chore to be permanent and then the steps to change every time?
Poor customer service
Have emailed twice already about being charge for a subscription I didn’t want and no answer back…
No free option
The description gave the impression that there was a free option because it notes ‘pro’ involving a subscription. You have no option but to pay to access the service. $70 a year!
Pretty good
So far I have used the app only today and I like it. It’s been helpful and makes cleaning feel a bit like a fun game. I can leave it open, see the timer and cute animation and check off each task as I complete it. I like the ability to adjust the checklist as you go to add extra things that weren’t added to the list. I also love the ability to take a photo and have the list prepare itself and I don’t need to create my own list from scratch. I do wish I could take multiple photos of different angles of a room though.
A few things have bothered me so far - one is that when I finish a task and click complete, it pauses my Spotify which is annoying.
I also checked out the audio tracks within chorefriend and I couldn’t switch back to Spotify. I could pause the audio with some messing about but there’s no option to go back to having no audio playing in the app so when I exited to play Spotify it paused my cleaning timer and as soon as I went back into chorefriend it paused my Spotify so that was a bit annoying. Once I finished that list I restarted the app and it fixed the issue.
The last bug I’ve had is that if I finished cleaning a room and checked it off it shows as completed but when I went out of the app and came back in and it reopens my old checklist. As if I’m still going. The first time it happened I clicked finish again and now the same room is marked as done for today in my completed list and I can’t delete one.
Overall a good little app. Not sure if the novelty will wear off but it’s definitely helped me so far today. Could use a few tweaks but I like it so far.

Hey! Thank you so much for the detailed review. Great points and quick wins that I can definitely improve, especially the Spotify thing and the re-opening of the checklist after completing. Will attempt to integrate these changes into the next update.

Since using the app regularly I feel real calmness being at home and have friend over way more. Highly recommend
